My thermostat (Honeywell) is reading 83. It is set to 73 and is quite cool in here. My normal thermometer reads 74, so I know my set temperature is correct. Why, then, would my display read 83. Batteries changed - didn't help. Thermostat is not near a window or door, is located on an inside wall and is not near any other heat source. Is this going to have an impact on my power bill?

My husband and I have planned a trip to Australia. We invited my parents and his parents to come along, as well as his brother and brother's wife. Since then, I've made all reservations, collected deposits - everything. However, the brother's wife, keeps inviting random members of her family that none of us have ever met. My husband and I planned this around our immediate family only and didn't want to extend the invite further than that. How do I tell her that? I realize that I cannot stop her from inviting people, but I - along with my husband, parents and in-laws - feel it very rude for her to be making this trip into something it wasn't intended to be.

the outside casing of my san disk memory card is broken. The actually memory card within is completely intact and just woked on my camera, but isn't working on my computer. It now won't work in the camera either. How can I get the camera/computer to read the card. Is there a way to replace the housing. It isn't the lock that is broken, it is the plastic bars atop the card.

I have 3 pairs of Big Star Jeans purchased over the period of a year. I am 5' 1" and wear a size 25 waist jean in the Big Star brand, so they are small and the rise is short. I love they way these jeans fit, but with each pair I own, I cannot get the zipper to stay up. I am constantly re-zipping them. I would expect this from a less expensive pair of jeans, but these are at least $100 per pair, so I assumed they would be made in a quality in line with their price. What could be contributing to a zipper continually unzipping if these jeans are not too tight and have only been worn about 5 times each at most? I have no other jeans that do this. Could it be because the rise is so short that the zipper doesn't "lock" at the top? I am just wondering if it is a problem with the design or if replacing the zipper with another could solve the problem. Thanks.

My puggle is almost 2. For a week now, she has been biting her back left paw. She is literally attacking it, and we don't know why. It now has bite marks between the paw pads because keeps doing this. She is an indoor dog and she is on revolution, and has been her entire life. Her diet consists solely of prescription T/D. She seldom has interaction with other dogs, and we do not have our lawn sprayed with pesticides. We also avoid walking her on lawns where people have pesticide signs. She is bathed on a normal basis, but not too often. She hasn't ever had skin irritations in the past, so we are curious as to what this could be, since it is just the one paw - the other three are left untouched. Any help is appreciated. Thanks much.

I'd love a chicken recipe that isn't just sticking it in the oven to bake. I'd like a crockpot recipe, or something more unique. If I were to make something at home tonight, the ingredients I have on hand are: blue cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, salsa, butter, cream, carrots, celery, onions, arugula, basil, breadcrumbs, tomatoes, asparagus, caonal/sesame/vegetable/olive oils, white wine, chicken and beef broth, red wine vinegar, rice, pasta, baked beans, balsamic vinegar, italian salad dressing, dry herbs and spices. The only thing I don't like is mayonaisse. Anything else goes! Thanks!

This year, i've filed my tax return claiming the $7,500 tax credit for first time home buyers that you have to pay back. My home was purchased on Jan 20, 2009. I have already received the 7500 from the IRS.

I see now that I actuallt will qualify for the $8,000 first time home buyers tax credit that you don’t have to pay back, once Obama signs this stimulus bill into effect.

My question is as follows: Is there anyway I can amend my return for this year to get the 8000 tax credit (so an additional 500) and not have to pay it back?

This tax credit is confusing me, but I don't want to be penalized from falling into the 8000 tax credit just because I filed early.

If I purchase a home with somebody that I am not married or related to, do both of us qualify to claim the First Time Home Buyer's Tax Credit, or does just one of us claim it and split it with the other after I get it? I am confused. Thanks for your help!
