I am an IT person taking an IT Project Management class. I have learned lots of good things about subtle differences between techies and non-techies. For example, a techie thinks in terms of meeting specifications while the user thinks in terms of useability. Techies tend to be more introverted so they don't stand up well to demands by extroverts (marketing, upper management) for shorter deadlines, etc. I realize now that I have to take these kinds of differences into account when I work with people outside of my department. But what I want to know is, do non-techs learn anything about how to manage techies? Do they learn that they have to be very specific about what they want programs to do and what they want screens and reports to look like? Do they learn that they have to tell people like me that credits are negative numbers and debits are positive, that it is very, very important to get exact copies of error messages for techies instead of saying "it doesn't work"? Thanks.

I'm looking for a fundraiser for Relay For Life. I thought I could order some saying "In Memory Of" and some saying "In Honor Of' and write the name that the buyer wants. I'm experimenting on old bracelets but can't find a way to write a name that doesn't smear off. I've tried Sharpies and pens. Any ideas? Thank you.
