I've always owned Yamaha 600s and i've got a Kawasaki Vulcan for cruising, and i used to have an R1 but totaled but i want to buy a new bike but am confused about which one should i get?

I am more of a street bike kinda guy i don't go to tracks or all of that but speed and performance is what i care about... So if you got personal experience about riding both bikes your help would be really appreciated as i can't decide which is better.

I haven't ridden the Ducati yet, and both of them are 2010

Am not to going to go into details but long story short i had this girl for almost 2 years and like any couple we struggled through a lot (arguments, lying, etc...) we broke up because i had work outside the country and i was gone for 3 months i was supposed to come back on the 4th but she cheated on me. I have the choice to get a used (like new) Yamaha R6 which is so cool and sport and in real good condition, but my dad wants to get me a brand new Honda Shadow 750 which is classic and not my style at all. they both the same price by the way.
