  • Cat Wormer - external drops or tablets?

    Hi!

We have two kittens who are wormed regularly but we have a lot of trouble trying to get the tablets down their throats. If I try to mash them into their food, they can tell straight away and refuse to eat it, thus the tablets are wasted and I end up spending a fortune! Could anyone tell me if they have used the external drops method and whether these are as effective as treating the animal from the inside or whether you have experienced any problems/side-effects with the drops?

    Many thanks.

  • Driving Lesson Question!!?

    Hi!

My son, who is seventeen, is currently taking driving lessons with an instructor and also has one practice lesson a week with my dad. He is improving quickly and is becoming a confident driver but his instructor has said that he will need at least thirty lessons before taking his practical test, though he has advised my son to go ahead and book his theory, which he has done. I have also telephoned the AA and they recommend having forty lessons before taking his test!

I know this is a bit of a tricky one as obviously every driver is different, but to me, this seems a lot of lessons and just another way to exploit parents for money so could anyone tell me roughly how many lessons they had before taking their test?

I understand that a new driver requires sufficient experience before being let loose on the roads on their own and to be honest, the more time my son has to 'mature' before doing so is a bonus as far as I'm concerned, but on the other hand I feel this many lessons is going to the other extreme.

    Many thanks for your answers!

  • CAT OWNERS!! Can anyone recommend a good cat flap?

Hi! I'm looking for a cat flap to fit in a UPVC door, preferrably one with the magnet system to stop the flap blowing in the wind. Our cats are chipped so I've looked at the ones that pick up the chip, thus allowing only our cats through the flap, but these are quite expensive. Could anyone out there recommend a good one and give me any tips? Thanks in advance!

  • If your cat went and cr*pped on your neighbours garden?

If your cat went and cr*pped on your neighbours garden and you saw them do it, and the neighbour banged on the window for the cat to get off, would you go and pick up the poo or leave it? Serious question, though I know I'm going to get some silly answers!!!

  • Pagani Zonda - how much to insure?

My hubby and I were watching Top Gear the other night and James May was testing the Pagani Zonda.

Does anyone know, out of interest (or to be honest to settle an argument!) roughly how much the insurance premium would be on this type of car?

    Thanks!

  • I have two kittens aged four months - when can they go outside?

I have two kittens aged around four months old. When I got them from the Cats Protection League, they said that despite having their injections, they shouldn't go outside for a good while. Could anyone tell me roughly at what age you let your kittens out and when you did, did they return to you quite easily?

  • Teenager under caution - will it stop him getting a job in police force?

My son, who is 16, received a caution for a schoolboy fight which happened outside of school, after a school day. He would eventually like a career in the police force. Is this possible?

  • 'In Love Again' by Yves St Laurent perfume - where can I buy?

About ten years ago now, I bought this perfume which was a limited edition, and I absolutely loved it but, obviously, with it being a limited edition fragrance, I couldn't get it anymore.

Can anyone tell me if they have managed to get it from anywhere - sample sized bottles are advertised on Amazon but most other websites I've tried have sold out of the normal sized bottles.

  • Itchy scalp, swollen glands - any ideas?

I have had an itchy scalp for around three to four months now which makes my skin flake and peel. The glands at the back of my neck have also now become swollen and over the last few days, dry, red patches have appeared on the back of my neck, which are also extremely itchy.

My doctor gave me a poly-tar cream (cocois) to put on my head and a special shampoo (nizoral) which didn't work. She then gave me a steroid ointment to try (betnovate) which again isn't working.

The itching is driving me mad and obviously the flakiness is very embarrassing.

Any ideas what it could be (eczema?) and how to treat it? A natural or homeopathic rememdy would be great.

  • Bank charges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

We are being charged ludicrous amounts in bank charges for going slightly over our overdraft limit by the Halifax. My husband is self-employed and only takes home around £200 per week (we have four children) and we are struggling like a lot of people at the moment. Last month we were charged £140 in one week for going over our OD limit.

Has anyone been successful in having these sort of charges reimbursed and how did you go about it?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Does anyone know how much it costs to microchip a cat?

We have just got two kittens and I have been reading some booklets about having them microchipped instead of wearing a collar - the problem with collars being that they can snag and strangle the cat - but I don't know how much it costs. Any ideas?

  • I am having problems receiving emails from a website from whom I would like to receive?

I have been registered with a website from whom I have regularly received emails and would like to continue doing so. Lately, however, whenever I have signed into my account with them, a message has appeared to say that I have an invalid email address.

I reported this to them and they have informed me that at some point, my emails have been 'bounced' back to them (it is possible that I have marked one as spam by mistake - I seem to receive so many that I don't want) and they have advised me to ensure that I have their address listed as one that I would like to receive emails from.

How do I go about this? I have sat for the last hour trying to do it but cannot find a way!

  • In reply to 'GHOST'?

Have tried to sign in to ebay uk and ebay.com and get the same message. I have tried using Internet Explorer as well as Mozilla but just get the same message. I hold an account with them and I'm currently bidding on about fifteen items, some of which end today so am getting a bit concerned that I can't access the site. I have emailed ebay but as yet no reply.
