Hace ya varios años que me vine a vivir a estudiar a los Estados Unidos, donde desde hace poco, se le esta dando importancia al medio ambiente: se estan haciendo esfuerzos por crear mas productos ecologicos, autos electricos, etc. Y poco a poco, mas ciudades exigen que se separe la basura en tres diferentes formas: los reciclables (aluminio y plastico), el compost (supongo que es abono? todo lo que sean sobras de comida y productos de papel), y la basura regular, que de plano no se puede reciclar. Existen lugares para ir a dejar electronicos q ya no sirven, y la mayoria de las personas que tenemos ropa que ya no usamos, la donamos.

Esta pasando lo mismo en Mexico? También, se ha empezado a informar acerca de la sobrepoblacion; se promueve mucho la planificación familiar (aunque lamentablemente, no todos usan ese recurso...), para crear conciencia de que ya somos muchos! Recuerden que cada persona es un consumidor mas del medio ambiente...

Estados Unidos no es un pais mejor que Mexico, pero al igual que otros paises, ha logrado que las personas piensen un poco mas en el medio ambiente. Que se esta haciendo en Mexico?

My camera is brand new, and I have used the timer before. But this time, while pressing the < button, the only thing that happens is moves the white rectangle that indicates the center on the screen.

Help!! So I used an Epson and scanned several drawings to create a storyboard. I cropped and rotated them in Photoshop and everything looked fine. I saved them in very high quality.

Now that I am opening them in Premiere, after scaling the image to fit to the frame size, they look terrible!! How can I fix that? :(

I am a transfer student from a community college and this is my first year assisting to a State University.

When I was at my community college, I was receiving a BOG waiver and had to pay only a two-digit tuition per semester. I come from a very poor family of three (we make less than 20K a year...), but I am aiming for better and that is the reason why I am in college. FAFSA has been a blessing for me, since it helped a lot with rent and food, and while at the CC, I was receiving 4 checks a year for the total of (about or less) 6K. I succeeded into transferring with a 3.0 GPA (even when having 2 jobs sometimes), but unfortunately, just yesterday I got struck with some terrible news after going to a counselor, since my check never arrived:

I supposedly did not file my FAFSA on time, well, in effect, I did all those updates late... An amount of 2,700 went to my tuition and I had to pay the difference. I was ok with that, until they told me I will not be receiving any other amounts for this semester.

Is this seriously just because I submitted my application late?? I had to apply for a loan, but I cannot keep on getting loans throughout the rest of the time I have in school. I do know well that other poor students such as I, receive about 5K a semester (plus full tuition coverage). How can I assure I get the same help next semester or year? I want to know if there are other people in my situation and if I can get any advice. Please, only helpful answers and no hate comments.

And yes, I will be getting a job. But I am still starving and have bills to pay. Oh, and sadly, I did not get any scholarships :(

Regardless if the existance of mermaids is true or not, I don't think the government should be getting involved in this because it is as if they were interfering with our freedom of expression and right to believe in whatever we want, whether it's aliens, angels, or mermaids. What's going on??

When I look it up on Yahoo, they give the Yahoo Avatars link, but it sends me to my profile, and I cannot find that option there. Is it my computer? I have the latest Adobe Flashplayer installed, so what is happening? Anybody experiencing the same?

I am looking for a Volvo 240, and I was wondering when did they stop being manual. Is it possible to find an automatic 240?

I am about to buy a Volvo 240 Sedan, year 1990, from a guy who is an old and retired Volvo mechanic. He has several of them, from which I am interested in 2 which are exactly the same except for some cosmetic defects.

However, before I go tomorrow (will be my second time taking a look at both, this time with my personal mechanic), I would like to know some more information and reviews from you guys, if you have ever owned one of these cars :)

Hello! So I was placed an elastic chain a few months after getting my braces in order to close some gaps I have from extractions.

This was almost 2 years ago. The gaps have been closing pretty well, however, around march of this year, my chain has started to pop broken in the exact same spot every week and a half after I get placed a new one!

This is very annoying, and I even got offended by one of the dental assistants when she asked me last week if I was doing it on purpose! No! How am I going to do that since the least I want is to delay my treatment even more??

My diet hasn't changed, and this didnt happen when I got the elastic chain for the first months.

What is going on? :(

Let's pretend ever since the history of humankind a woman has always been able to get another woman pregnant or a man has always been able to get another man pregnant.

Considering many religions see marriage's only and main purpose as to procreate, then how would things change if, regardless the gender, everybody is able to procreate by having sex? Wouldn't they have a "real" reason to be united now?

It is never good to generalize, because all bodies are different.

We have an 8 year old shih tzu. We got her back about 3 months ago after having given it to care to another person for 2 years. She was in pretty bad conditions, with even a terrible ear infection which we already took care and she recovered completely. When we got her back, she was in her period. We had her inside the house because the person we lived with had other 3 dogs (who were more than upset of having a new dog at their home. They are a 10 year old chowchow/german sheppard, a 9 year old chihuahua, and a 3 year old yorkie(?)).

After her heat period was over, we let her go with the dogs. Anyway, we moved in now to a studio, were she has had a hard time trying to adapt. But the reason why I am asking this question, is because she has been leaking some fluid from her vulva. We took her to the vet almost 2 months ago because of the reason that she was dragging herself too much, and we got medications for an anal-glands infection she was diagnosed with.

Now, she is leaking this greenish fluid, and since the past 2 days, it contaions mostly blood. I am sure she is not in her period again. This is very disgusting but I really want to do something about it. We cannot take her to the vet soon because we CAN"T afford it... However are planning to get her spayed next year because of this disease called Pyometra. I already googled it to check the symptoms, and I am not sure if it is that. I have the knowledge that it is a deadly disease. But I don't know what to think or do anymore. Please help me. She has normal appetite, but "goes to the restroom" every third day (because she doesn't feel very comfortable doing it inside the studio, although we take her to walk outside). Feel free to ask for more details.

I have Bonus Written Report due a week from today, is for my Chemistry class... And I really need to do it. A friend of mine went to the doctor this week, and it was his first time in that clinic, so he had to sign a whole bunch of paperwork. The last paper he signed, was about some decisions about him or something like that and it asked if he wanted to be an organ donor, where he checked 'yes'. He doesn't want to do this anymore, affirming he wasn't really thinking when he did. I told him not to worry about it because what matters is if he has the sticker on his dmv license because that is what counts as his official decision. But he is not happy, and now wants to go back to the clinic to undo the paperwork. What should i tell him to do?

Help! I have a 30 minute presentation due next week for my Intercultural Communications class! As part of the presentation, we need to show some videos related to our subject... I am looking for a scene that illustrates business etiquette (manners) in other cultures, or how co-workers in an job (preferably in an office) get along, being from different countries. Something like that! Please! I don't know anything about American tv series but they told me of one called The Office... Please give me names and/or links to youtube or hulu... I would really appreciate it!
