Dishwasher got regular dish soap - now messed up!?
A friend put some regular dish soap into my dishwasher and now the thing is over sudding. I took all the dishes out and cleaned them, but there is still a resovior of water that is very soap rich and I am having a hard time draining that water (I did as best as I can manually and its not draining anymore on its own - but what is left has alot of the regular dish soap in there).
Is there any "home-made" remedy to de-sud the soapy water? I thought of the solutions made for hot tubs, carpet cleaning, etc - but is there any home remedy that would work? I tried salt - didnt make a difference. Anyone with any ideas on what to do? Anytime I turn the dishwasher on - it just starts to mix with the soapy water (even tho there isnt that much left).
Thanks in advance.
5 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoWhat would you do with Binladin's former website? Serious question: what to you do?
On September 11th, 2001 I took part in a strange coincidence: The Binladin family owned a website which (coincidentally?) expired on the same day which their son attacked the United States. What I did is write a computer program which captured the domain name the instant when it expired (late Sept). Once I had the domain name, I placed my own web server and an email server against this domain name and former Binladin website. I have captured gigabytes worth of emails which have led to a variety of news articles and TV interviews, etc – but, it has always been a curiosity and unknown part of the 9-11 story for most people. The website is: http://www.saudi-binladin-group.com/ There are a variety of news articles at various sources, such as: WIRED: http://www.wired.com/politics/law/news/2001/11/482... .
What would you do with this? I have tried to turn this into a message of peace and cooperation among all people.
Serious question and respectful answers only please ...
1 AnswerOther - News & Events1 decade agoTrying to connect to Samba/LINUX server via XP or Vista and cannot?
Hello - I have installed the latest version of SUSE Linux as a clean install; the original version (was much older from about 2002) could see the same Windows Workgroup, connect to Win shares and vice-versa.
WIth the new version, I can see the LINUX server appear in my WORKGROUP, but when I try to connect to the shares which I have setup - it asks for user/pass. I try every combination from the 'root' password to an admin account password. I turned off the LINUX (and Windows) firewalls. The Shares (on LINUX) are setup in YAST. One XP computer and connect to the Vista computer using shares (and vice-versa); but, when the LINUX/Samba server enters the picture, LINUX reports "Timeout on WORKGROUP" and cannot see the Windows Shares. Again, Windows computers can see the LINUX Shares, but just cannot connect to them regardless of the password/name combos I have tried. The LINUX computer can browse Internet, etc and the router sees the IP/Mac address of the LINUX box. THANKS in advance.
3 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoCan someone help me route a trip from Phoenix to Albuquerque in this time of year (via auto)?
Hello -
I am completely foreign to winter driving and abit nervous; but, I have to see my mother who is very sick. Leaving from LA to PHX then next day PHX to ABQ. I did the drive via Flagstaff a few weeks ago and got hit with a snow storm. Now I'm thinking of going via the 60 (Globe, Show Low, Pie Town) meeting the 25 in Socorro and heading up to ABQ? I have some business in PHX, but money is so tight that I cant do the flights that would make this so easier - but, I really do need to see my Mom. Anyone with any ideas? Thanks in advance ...
3 AnswersCommuting1 decade agoWhat are my legal usage of very old (pre-1900) music on my website?
I want to create a website dedicated to celebrating 100 years of technology -- as a result, I want to have old ephemera particularly mp3 downloads of very old wax recordings from 1890-1907 .. I know alot of this is out of copyright; but what are my legal ability/usage rights and what ethics does this raise?
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoCan someone tell me the proper drill-bit type to make a hole in pottery?
Ive been using larger masonry bits to make drainage holes in heavy ceramic pottery (which has no holes in it); sometimes I'm sitting on the drill for 5 minutes before it even makes the smallest hole. I can swear I did this a few years with much better ease - but, I have no idea what type of drill bit I used. Not trying to drill thru terra-cotta or anything like that - but, like heavy ceramic - such as what a heavy coffee mug or hefty soup bowl would be like. Thats what Im trying to plant some funky bulb plants into and I must have good drainage? Any ideas???
Other - Home & Garden1 decade agoHosts file in Windows XP? Modified now IE7 doesnt work right?
Fairly technical person here - but, I edited the HOSTS file in my XP home and pro computer to avoid ad serving and hitting rogue websites. For the most part, it works - HOWEVER - when I visit some sites, when the site loads the portion (referenced in the HOST file - such as an <IFRAME> which has a banner ad) - the entire page redirects and you do not get the page content but a search page instead.
It's almost like the page discovers you thwarted the banner ad from being served and it makes the page unviewable. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN W/ FIREFOX - but, with FFox the ads do not get served, so the function is happening properly. I do not know with IE6 because I upgraded my 3 computers all to IE7. Some sites which are problematic are: aimpages.com or (sorry Yahoo!): my.yahoo.com (most of the time, but not all the time w/ the top banner load).
Anyone know how to turn this redirect off from the ad not being served? (And, changing page redirects or IE security, etc makes no difference).
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoHow long does it take for auto insurance to pay out for no-fault accident?
Hello - I was involved in an auto-accident in March of 2006 in which both insurance companies (mine and hers) agreed that it was the other party's fault and I was a zero-liability. Their insurance company (let's call them "Venus", of ease) has asked for receipts ($1000 in rentals which my coverage does not cover), my deductible amount and any other amount which I had to put out (total is about $1,700). I have waited since April for them to pay me. I get letters from "Venus" every other week saying they are "pending further investigation" - but, I am at wits-end and want my money which I had to pay-out for an accident that everyone acknowledges is not my fault.
Does anyone know what the law/rules are in California and how long they can take to pay after they find the other party is at fault? Also, what can I word in a strongly worded letter to get this finally paid. I dont want to hire lawyer for such a low amount - but, that extra 1700 sure would be nice at the moment. Thanks! Chris
