  • lease buyout question..?

I traded in a leased vehicle today before the lease was up. The lease was with Toyota Financial and I still had 30 months left in the lease. The dealership I traded it in at asked me for the payoff amount to own the vehicle outright, so I went on toyota financial's website and it showed the buyout was 31,597.00 HOWEVER, this amount did NOT include sales tax. The dealer was aware of this and they did not charge me the sales tax on the buyout amount. All of the paperwork I signed shows that the amount for the payoff is 31,597 and that is how much they are sending to toyota financial to request the title. When they get the title am I going to get a bill for the tax on the lease? I am SO confused on this. The business manager assured me that I won't hear another word on the matter, but I'm still concerned. There is nothing in writing stating that I agreed to pay them the sales tax...I did pay the sales tax on my new vehicle but thats it...will this become a problem? I hope I made this clear enough for everyone to understand...let me know if you need any clarification as the whole process is very new to me. Thanks!

  • What do you do when your cell phone is disconnected?

    for nonpayment..

    do you...PAY THE BILL

or...CALL and yell at the care rep about it?

    and why?

Please note that the service rep really can't do anything about your money problems, we all have them...so why bother wasting your time?

  • How many times is my credit going to be checked for an FHA loan?

Hi, I am in the process of purchasing my very first place, and have already been pre-approved for my FHA loan. They have already pulled my credit report and score and I was just wondering if before the closing will they pull it again? I have a lot of inquiries from prior to applying to the FHA loan and just don't want my score to tank anymore from pulling my credit too much. Does anyone know if I am done as far as pulling my credit? Thanks

  • FHA Loan Approval? What are the chances?

Ok, so I am applying to get an FHA loan for a 125,000 dollar condo.

    I make 2500 a month

    I owe:

about 150/month in credit card bills

    375/month for car payment

student loans which are all in deferment as I am still a part time college student so those are not taken into account

I have the down payment saved up and the loan I am applying for is 4.50% fixed for 30 years.

the payment between the condo pricipal and insurance, the HOA fees, and the property taxes will be around 875/month

The mortgage company looked over my credit report (692 avg scores) and they think I have a good shot of getting it even though the ratios or something are high? I don't really understand.

Do you think I will get this loan? I have never EVER paid ANYTHING late, but I am only 21 years old.....

    What do you think?

  • Why are people so rude to phone reps?

I work on the phone for a wireless company and am amazed at how rude some people can be. Why is it that we always get talked down to and like trash? I just wish some people would realize that if you're nice you are MUCH more likely to get what you want when you call in than some bit*h who won't just shut up and stop pointing fingers at ME--(Yeah, I pin-pointed your account out of EVERY account the company has and messed everything up, I placed the charges on the account, I sent the 10,000 text messages you're stuck up little 8 year old daughter sent to all of her friends..)

Anyways, Whats your thoughts on that? Are you rude to the phone rep? If so, Why?

  • pay off credit cards or save for economic disaster?

Just like everyone else I'm just trying to handle some debt I've racked up over the past 3 years or so....I have a pretty nice tax refund in addition to about 5,000 dollars in the bank. Should I save money in case the economy gets worse (which it will...) or should I start paying off my debts and hope I don't lose my job during the recession??

I think my job is pretty stable---I work for a large company with promising numbers from 2008...infact its the only company I know of thats still hiring people like crazy. What should I do?

  • How many exemptions should I claim for federal income tax?

Hey everyone, I am 21 years old, single, nobody else can claim me as a dependent. I make about 32,000 a year and want to know if its OK to claim 2 on my federal income tax? I know that this means I will get a smaller refund, but I don't care about that. I just want as much of my money as possible like everyone else in this sour economy. I can claim two, right? I claim one now, but it looks as though I can claim another one for myself since nobody can claim me. Any thoughts/suggestions?

    Thanks!

  • 21 with all this credit card debt! Help!?

Okay, I'm 21 with 13,800 dollars in credit card debt. I have NO idea how it happened, I never planned for it to happen but it just did. I'm not behind on anything, at all. I have a full-time job making about 32,000 a year, but I just need advice. Should I consolidate all the debt onto one card? I have a card with a 38,000 dollar limit that has a 0 balance and a 2.9% for life transfer offer. Should I move all my debt onto this card? I have about 6 credit card payments to make each month, and its just getting out of control. Some of the debt isn't "Mine" and about 5,000 of it will be paid around tax time, but I just don't know what to do for now. I owe:

Capital One: 1,700@ 1.99% fixed for life

    CitiCards: 1,200@ 0.00% until 8/2009

    FifthThird: 900@ 0.00% until Nov. 2009

    Chase: 1,600@ 7.24(v)

    HSBC: 2,750@ 0.00% until October 2009

    CitiCards: 2000@2.9% until May 2010

    Chase: 1,960@ 3.99% for life

    WaMu: 775.00@ 0.00% until July 2009

Which ones should I consolidate?! I have some offers for 5.99% for life with a Chase Card of mine with a large limit. Any ideas? And-don't worry, I've cut them up already...I was just trying to get through college and 6 months with no job....Thanks for your help. It's not completely out of control, I can afford the payments and I generally know how to play the credit card game as far as moving balances to 0% offers etc. and i've NEVER missed a payment on any, thus the incredibly large limits for someone my age (why, WHY is it so easy?!)

  • Which job should I quit?

I have two part-time jobs right now. I took a full-time offer at my job at a large wireless provider...BUT my other job (at a large bank) has been a pretty decent place to work, and I've been there longer (since April). Given the current economic conditions...and the fact that I've only been at the wireless provider since August...which job would you keep and which would you quit? Keeping both is not an option..I'm tired and can't continue to work 7 days a week plus college. If I keep the wireless job and go full-time I will be making about 3.00 per hour more than the bank...but I'm just worried about making the wrong decision and being laid off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • What were you thinking as Obama was declared the winner of the election?

Personally, I was VERY happy...I ended up with goose-bumps through my whole body and just felt so relieved and proud that we've come this far. I never thought I would see the day....and I never thought I would feel the way I did about an election, a person, a President...

Please leave the negative comments at the door. I don't care to hear them, neither does anyone else who witnessed history last night and who appreciates just how far we've come as a nation.

  • just turned 21, question about life?

So, I just turned 21. I'm having a really hard time figuring out where I belong in society, as well as who I really am. Basically, I'm kinda wondering why I'm here and what my purpose is. I've heard a lot of people my age go through this, I'm just looking for some guidance to help me feel satisfied with myself and my life so far. I work a full-time job at a large wireless carrier, go to school full-time, leaving little time for friends and family let alone anything else. Any tips? I just feel so blah at the end of the day. Its like i feel as if I should be doing something else, but I'm not sure what. Sorry for making this so long...

Anyone suggest a vacation? I've been in Ohio for my WHOLE life. I've been to Myrtle Beach, canada, and michigan. WOW! So, I dunno. maybe I need to go out and see the world?

    Thanks everyone.

  • how should I set up my 401k?

I just turned 21 and set up 401k contributions (up to the company match), but I just had a question about what kind of fund I should be investing in at my age. I don't really like the idea of an aggressive portfolio. So, how exactly should I set things up, seeing as how the market is so iffy right now. I heard that now is a good time to invest, but I just don't know what I'm doing with it. I have 2 jobs, one of which made it really easy, they have a 2050 fund (about the time I want to retire) that has a stock broker manage the fund and change the investments as needed. My other job, a large bank, manages everything in-house, and doesn't make it so easy...

What should I do to ensure that I'm on the right track to a decent retirement?

  • question about 401k contributions?

So, I just turned 21 last week and was thinking to myself lately that I should be participating in my 2 companies 401k programs. (2 part-time jobs). One job matches at 6%, so I'm contributing 6%, the other is 5, same deal. My question is...How do I go about combining the two into 1 later on when I'm finished with school and start working 1 full-time job? I'm just very confused on how the whole thing works. And, how do I get my money when the time comes to retire?

  • Landlord question regarding animals?

I just signed a lease at an apartment a few days ago. At the time I signed the lease I only had a cat, and I made sure to ask about getting a dog. They told me it was no problem at all, and that I'll be allowed to add one on once I get it. Now, the problem is that I just got a dog, and now they are saying theres a limit of 1 pet per apartment?! So, knowing that I don't have it in writing that they told me I could have a dog and cat, I don't know what to do. Should I lie and say I'm getting rid of the cat then to have the dog, and just keep the cat there anyways? I figure a cat is much easier to hide than a dog. What should I do? I'm not getting rid of either of them, its not an option...I did nothing wrong, they just changed their mind on me, and thats not my problem....

  • ADD Diagnosis at 20?

Hey, I'm 20 and just got diagnosed with ADD. I've heard some pretty bad stuff about adderall; I just got prescribed 20mg of it. I was just wondering what it could do to me long-term...cuz I've made it this far, and through two years of college without it...So I don't know if I want to take it.

Despite all of the bad things about it, I've noticed it's worked really good for the 5 days i've been using it. I finish homework faster, and read textbooks better....
