Please help! Denied the disney internship, but it didn't make sense:Details below?
Hi all :)
Here's the story: I applied for the disney internship for fall 2012 in the past few days. I submitted the basic information and was immediately denied further application, even though I was allowed to proceed last time I applied: I can't even proceed to the web-based interview.
I applied last fall for the current session (spring 2012) and made it to the web-based interview and was denied after that, which is fair because it is more complex. But I do not understand how I can be denied after just the initial information submission, and it was instant (on a Saturday), so I know it was done by computer.
Does this seem right to any of you? I don't understand how one can be denied so quickly; I don't have any criminal record, am able to work all the roles, and have no schedule conflicts. Is it possible the Disney computers have an error?
If anyone knows how I can get more information or contact the program by phone, I would appreciate you sharing it. This is something I really really want, and I am sure this has happened to other people.
Thanks! :)
3 AnswersOrlando9 years agoWhat is the WDW down payment, refund policy, and last-minute addition policy for packages? :)?
I know this is a lot, but I have a lot of questions about Disney World, I've been there before but this is my first time planning the vacation myself. My college friends and I want to go. So I'm familiar about what to do once you get there, its just the planning I have questions about:
1. What is the down payment? Some sources say its $200, but has that changed?
2. What's the last day to make a payment? We'll have to pay in installments one way or the other.
3. When is the last day to get a refund, if any, if we have to cancel the trip?
4. If a friend wants to go at the last minute, can we add him to our package at the last minute?
Thank you so much guys, its amazing how confusing the WDW website can be :)
1 AnswerOrlando9 years agoAny way to get cheap Disneyland tickets?
I'm planning on visiting Disneyland in California in a few months. I plan to just spend one day there with my family, and we're not going to Disney's California Adventure. The last time I was there was over ten years ago, and I wasn't coordinating the trip.
I saw the ticket prices on the main website. Are there any other ways to get cheaper tickets? I do not live in California, so I couldn't get a resident discount.
Thanks :)
4 AnswersLos Angeles10 years agoMy friends are driving me nuts with relationship drama! Advice?
It appears that I am playing relationship counselor to some of my best friends: So my friends used to date each other, but broke up almost two years ago. They were able to remain friends, because they were friends before. Its been obvious though, that they are still attracted to one another, and care about each other.
In the beginning the girl broke up with the boy after dating for a year. She's confessed to me that she was being impulsive, and shouldn't have done it. She tried to get back together with him, but he said no (which I think was good as it gave them both time to cool down).
Then the boy decided to confess his love for her, only she turned him down because she was dating someone at the time. They both dated other people over the years. Now after a few years, they're both single again.
They've both confessed to me that they still like each other, but aren't sure if they should ask the other out. I'm not sure which one should ask the other out though (being a friend to both of them, I'm supposed to miraculously know the answers lol).
Who do you think should ask the other out? hey, if they want to give it another shot, I don't think it would be a bad idea, as they've both grown up since then, and are still very compatible for one another. They've never had the "friends with benefits relationship, and their relationship was very good when they were dating.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoCan multiple people pay for one Disney vacation package?
Hi guys.
I'm planning on going to Disney World with some friends, and we're all contributing for the trip.
My question is, will Disney accept payment from different people if they're all paying for the same package, or does it all have to be from the same person? Paying online via credit card for example: can multiple cards pay or will Disney only accept money from one card?
Thanks a bunch :)
3 AnswersOrlando1 decade agoRelationship scenario... :)?
I'm trying to write a romance novel. Here's the story:
Boy dates girl for about a year, and it was a good relationship. Girl breaks up with boy because she couldn't handle a boyfriend (life was pretty rough, but relationship was fine) but they were both nice about it.
They remained friends; its clear they're still attracted to one another.
Girl regrets it several months later. She asks boy to get together again. He says no.
A few months later, boy asks girl to get back together; she's in a relationship, and says no. Boy doesn't really mean any harm, but just wanted to say his feelings.
A few years later, its clear that they're both attracted to each other; they have remained good friends, and had other boyfriends/girlfriends, but are now both single again. Who asks the other person if they want to give it another shot? Should the boy ask? Or is it the "girl's turn?"
I'm trying to make it somewhat convincing :) Please be nice!
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoCan you book a resort room without having to pay dining for that night?
I'm hoping to check into a resort room the evening before my park tickets take effect, and at the end of the vacation, leave in the morning without visiting any of the parks.
I want to use a dining plan. Am I able to opt out of dining for those days? Or can I choose the number of days I will have the dining plan?
Yes, I have multiple questions :)
Thanks! Points to best/most detailed answer.
2 AnswersOrlando1 decade agoCan you check in to a hotel and not have to visit the parks that day?
I'm planning on driving to Disney World and am wondering if a party is able to check into a hotel in the evening, but not have to pay for park tickets on that day.
This is so we can make it to the resort the night before our vacation and get a full night's rest before visiting the parks :)
4 AnswersOrlando1 decade agoFor how long can you cancel and get refund? If possible?
Hello.
After paying for a vacation package at Walt Disney World, can you get a refund if you have to cancel your trip? If so, roughly how long do you have to cancel before you can't get your money back?
I've been to Disney several times, so I know its important to reserve early, but I've never been the vacation planner before.
Thanks a bunch! Points to the best/most detailed/accurate answer :)
3 AnswersOrlando1 decade agoWhen are discount packages for the next year advertised? Disney World?
I plan on visiting Disney World in 2012. I already know that prices for 2012 aren't revealed until this August (I contacted Disney myself) but I was wondering when discount packages will be revealed. Things like "book now and get free dining!" and such.
I've been to Disney many times before, so I understand things such as how long to go, where to stay, ect. But this is my first time to make the reservations and such on my own.
Thanks
3 AnswersOrlando1 decade agoI need to break up with my messed-up boyfriend.?
So I need to leave my boyfriend. I'm not attracted to him anymore (physically or mentally) the little things he does bugs me a lot more than we first started dating, he is lousy company (no conversation), he's become an embarrassment around my friends due to lack of social skills, and he can not think for himself (I like a guy with a brain) anymore.
Problem is, he has a lot of emotional issues, stemming from a bad childhood with abusive parents. Problem is, he insists on living in the same town as them, and still helping them out and generally letting them boss and bully him. He's already struggling in school, but refuses to see a therapist. I've spent months already trying to help him, but he's made no improvement to his life. Even though he logically knows he needs to make changes, he has continuously lacked the will to do so.
I'm afraid that if I break up with him, he'll do something stupid (to himself or others), and I don't want to feel responsible for him being more of a mess.
Any advice on how to deal with him/this?
Thanks :)
4 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhen does Disney start announcing prices for the next year? (2012)?
Hi there,
My friends and I are planning on going to Disneyworld in March of 2012. Does anyone know when Disney will publish the prices for that year? Right now, the Disney website only lists prices up to December 2011.
Does anyone have a rough idea when the prices would be published, if they've dealt with this before? Or anything related to this?
Thanks :)
4 AnswersOrlando1 decade agoWhat is a good resort for young adults (20's) to stay at WDW?
My friends and I are in college, and we're wanting to take a trip to Disney World. A few of us have been before (I was there recently) but of course, we've always stayed with parents who chose the hotel.
We're thinking of staying in a Fort Wilderness cabin to cut on food costs, since we're paying for everything. Does anyone else know have any experience with a resort that would be good for college kids?
6 AnswersOrlando1 decade agoHow long is bus trip from Fort Wilderness cabins to the parks?
Hello Everyone :)
I'm wondering how long the bus ride is from the Fort Wilderness cabins to any of the Walt Disney World theme parks. I've stayed on Disney property before, but never at the cabins, so I'm familiar with Disney buses, water transport, and monorail.
Also, is it time-efficient to leave the parks during the day, eat at the cabins, then head back to the parks? My group wouldn't like to stress ourselves by taking long trips back to the cabin, then a long trip to the park again in the middle of the day. We're hoping to cut down on food costs by cooking at the cabin.
Does anyone have experience with the Fort Wilderness cabins that they'd like to share also? My group has just started planning, so we're open to any and all suggestions. I've been to Disney World several times, and am always willing to learn something new.
3 AnswersOrlando1 decade agoWhat do companies think about young people changing careers? (after college)?
Hi there.
For anyone who hires for or works for a company (Wal-Mart, Disney, Airlines, ect) what would you think about a person who's changing careers and looking for a new job, but they're relatively young? Like in their twenties?
This is a person who didn't lose their old job, but simply wants to do other things, but is too old for or is out of college, so they can't "explore" like college kids did. They decided that the earlier career wasn't for them, so they changed.
Would it look bad on a person when they're applying if they've already tried other careers? Or does it make them seem like they wouldn't be a good employee?
Thanks guys. I'm sorry if the question seems confusing, but I worded it the best I could :)
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoCan I use canned pumpkin instead of pumpkin carved fresh?
I found a recipe which sounds intriguing, but it calls for freshly carved pumpkin flesh. The exact working is "two pounds seeded and peeled pumpkin, diced." Is there a canned pumpkin substitute I can use? I'm not that confident when it comes to carving pumpkins.
Thanks
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoComputer started freezing after being unused for a few minutes...?
For the past two weeks, whenever I leave my computer running for more than ten minutes without doing anything with it, the computer freezes. I can't click anything, do the control+alt+delete function, or anything. I'm forced to shut it down manually by holding down the button, then I turn it on again and it works just fine until I leave it for more than ten minutes.
Its a two-year-old Asus, and it has never done this until the past couple weeks. I've always run multiple virus scans, defragmentations (not sure of the spelling there), and other computer care. I avoid 'risky' websites, and haven't been anywhere new in the past few weeks either.
I've ran virus scans and defrags since the computer started freezing, and they aren't picking up anything wrong.
Has anyone dealt with this, or knows anything about this? Any ideas will be appreciated, just so I know what's going on :)
4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoHow can I find a song based on a few lyrics?
I'm looking for a song that I heard a lot of in one of my classes several years ago. I don't remember the title, and I only remember a few of the lyrics. I mostly remember the music/tune. I believe it was a Broadway song, because it was two people having a discussion in song.
I'd like to find this song somehow. Do you guys know any websites I can hunt down songs based on the lyrics?
Thanks :)
5 AnswersLyrics1 decade agoNeed advice to deal with college admissions/transfer staff?
I know this is a re-post, but I didn't get any answers, so I'm trying again :)
My friend is transferring from one university to a new one this spring. She has already been accepted into the new school. She has done her research on the new school website, and the new school SHOULD accept the credits from her old school.
There is an equivalency chart on their website say exactly that her credits are transferable. What she's worried about is the administrative staff being stubborn and trying to avoid giving her those transfers even though they have to (because colleges love money).
I can not say the university due to my friends privacy, so forgive me on that. How should we handle difficult administration? She doesn't want to act in a way that causes administration to shut her out.
Thanks guys :)
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhy do you think people are executed for a few murders, but people who've killed dozens are only given life?
I've noticed that serial killers, people in charge of crime rings (and ultimately many murders), and people who've simply killed multiple people are often given only life sentences, while people who kill only one or two people are more often given the death penalty.
I know the death penalty isn't given often (relatively speaking) but this seems kind of backwards letting the mass killers live while the small-scale killers get the needle.
I was wondering what people thought about this. Please keep the answers polite, as this is just a way to see people's views :)
