What does it mean / what is it called when you're sitting somewhere, but you get feelings of being elsewhere?
For example, I'm sitting at my desk, but as I work and my mind gets more focused on the computer, I suddenly start "feeling" my surroundings as being back in my old apartment. This also happens when I sit in another room for a period of time and then come back and sit down--I start feeling like I'm back in the previous room. The feelings go away when I look around and take in my new surroundings. The feelings are mild and aren't disturbing. I have no history of drug or alcohol abuse, and suffer only from bipolar depression.
1 AnswerPsychology6 years agoI feel like inanimate objects talk to me. What's the deal?
Sometimes I look at an inanimate object, like a bowl or a box, and it seems like they "say" something to me. Not loudly, and it doesn't really feel audible... but more like a whisper. Why is this happening? It doesn't happen often, only about once a week. I feel like perhaps my pain medication may be making this happen, but I'm not sure.
Any answers is a big help!
Thank you.
7 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoCan someone give me a better explanation about my bipolar problem?
I know I have bipolar disorder, but I don't know what else to do. I've talked to a doctor, but she does not seem to understand. Could someone with relative experience take a look at my post and please let me know if you can help give more information about my problem.
The link to it is here: http://perrycross.net/2011/02/07/rapid-cycle-bipol...
Thank you for any and all responses. Please be gentle.
3 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoIs there a reason for almost passing out? I feel really queasy, kind of dizzy and not sure whats going on.?
About a month ago, I felt really nauseous, then dizzy, then I started to sweat, and finally, had one of the most horrific experiences ever. My vision became distorted, edges got more pronounced, and my ears felt like they were closing up. Shortly thereafter, I checked my blood sugar, 97.. Completely normal! I don't know much about blood pressure, but the only meds I was on at the time was Indomethacin. I was in pain, but I don't know if that had anything to do with it. Unfortunately, I feel the same way right now.. almost. It's like I can feel it coming on. I don't want it to happen again, as it is very scary. I felt like I was dying. Any answers anyone can offer will help!
4 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoWhich clicky do I want? Keyboard question... Please Help!?
I am looking for a keyboard with LESS click and tactile feedback than an IBM Model M, but MORE click and tactile feedback than today's "rubber dome" keyboards.
I have used a "Dell Quiet Key" a while back, and it had a perfect click to it, but since then, I haven't been able to find one like it. I was told that I am looking for a keyboard with mechanical key switches and not "Buckling-Spring type"
If you know the distinct click and feel I'm looking for, and if you know of some brands and models of keyboards that might have that perfect touch I crave in one, please let me know.

3 AnswersHoroscopes1 decade agoLooping music and O.C.D.?
If I really like a song, I will loop it literally 20 times or more. I just can't seem to get enough. Each section of the musical piece just evokes a certain "fuzz".. I can't explain it.
Is this a manifestation of my O.C.D., or is it normal?
1 AnswerMental Health1 decade agoHow to control hunger related to anti-depressants?
I have been on Prozac and Wellbutrin (Budeprion, not Bupropion) for 2 months now, and to be honest, I've never felt BETTER in my entire life! I am loving it all, but -- im so hungry! all the time, I crave food.
I have been doing a good job of curbing these cravings (I smoke, trying to quit), but I just can't hold back anymore. I want PB&J so bad right now I could cry lol.
Anyway, thanks for the help!

1 AnswerDental1 decade agoIs the guitar riff in Acoustic Alchemy's "Mr. Chow" and Larry Carlton's "Morning Magic" the same?
I have heard this riff time and time again in countless jazz songs, and it's really bugging me. What is this riff, is it really the same, and why do so many musicians use it?
1 AnswerJazz1 decade agoEverytime I try and meditate or self-hypnotize, I fall asleep...?
This happens every time, even if I am not tired. I also do not know where my mind is supposed to go, and what I am supposed to see or feel once I've reached a full meditative state. I am only trying to relieve some anxiety and depression which eats up alot of energy that could be spent doing other constructive things. Could someone please lead me in the right direction? Thanks for all your answers!
4 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoWhy do toaster pastries like Pop-Tarts™ only take 7 or 8 seconds to get hot in the microwave?
It only takes 7 or 8 seconds in the microwave oven for toaster pastries like Pop-Tarts™ to get really hot, but takes everything else signficantly longer to get warm. Why?
2 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoWhen is something "good-enough" ?
I'm a graphic artist, and during/after completing a project, I feel 99% of the time that I "could have done better". I almost always end up destroying my hard work and re-doing it many times. This also stems into other projects, not necessarily graphic design. After all is said and done, I either have wasted many hours, or have completely destroyed something. How can I overcome this, and what is causing it?

OCD is taking me over. When I start a project and it dosent come out right, I trash it instead of trying to fix it. Nothing I do seems good enough for me, even if someone else thinks its fine. I move my furniture alot, and can never get it right, and if I leave the house without unplugging my oven, im afraid it will burn down. Please help.
