HELP! Affect of drag suits on swimming/racing.........?
My son's coach made him wear his stretched team suit over a normal suit in an important meet. The team and swim shop didn't have another suit in his size and the coach insisted to me that it wouldn't affect his time. Isn't the point in racing to reduce drag by buying speed suits instead of creating drag with a drag suit. He told me some people choose to wear drag suits in racing sometimes. I think he if full of s*** and was just too stubborn to give in and let him wear another suit. He is a state level swimmer and I'm not sure how to remedy this argument with his coach. I've ordered him a race suit but won't have the team suit until they place a minimum order which isn't my fault. Does anyone have any facts that I can use to dispute the coaches claim that a drag suit will not affect his race times? Please help!
4 AnswersSwimming & Diving1 decade agoSpeedo Endurance suits vs Speedo Flipturns suits. Help!?
My daughter has always worn Speedo Endurance suits to practice. I love them because they don't fade and last forever. Lycra suits seem to last only 6-8 weeks and I feel they are a waste of money. I would like to get feedback on the Speedo Flipturns suits that are 85% polyester and 15% xtra life lycra. The styles and patterns are really cute, but I don't want to spend a lot on a suit if they won't last very long.
How long before they start to fade? Do they keep their shape or start to stretch out like Lycra? How long do they last? How do you like them compared to the Endurance suits? Please share your experience. Thanks.
5 AnswersSwimming & Diving1 decade agoAttention Republicans and Democrats!!! Why do you vote for your party?
What are the top 5 reasons that influenced your decision to become Republican (list the most important platform first)? I'm just curious what platform/s are most important to you: foreign policy, abortion (pro-life), gun control, education, environment, civil rights, immigration, etc. and why?
Also, Democrats please tell me what platforms are most important to you and how they influence your vote. I'm a Democrat and would like to hear from both parties.
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoPlease help me with Earwax problem!?
My ears are very clogged and have never drained properly. They hurt for a few days so I went to the doctors. She said there was so much earwax that she couldn't see anything. Because it was painful, she recommended waiting a week before syringing (lavaging) it out. It didn't hurt the next day so I put olive oil in it for two days and then tried using a bulb syringe to flush it out. Then I couldn't hear at all so I went back and saw another doctor at an urgent care facility. He said the wax was very wet and lavaging for 12 hours wouldn't remove it. He gave me acetic acid otic drops. I've been using them for 4 days and it's getting worse. I can't hear anything from that ear and it burns and gets very warm when I put in the drops. I'm getting very dizzy and the other ear is very clogged as well. My head wants to explode because I can't get relief from the pressure. Is there anything else the doctor can do to get this wet wax out?
2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoWhat's the best way to teach an 8yr old boy to meditate?
My 8 year old son has expressed an interest in learning to meditate. I've meditated in the past, but it's been awhile. I would like to start meditating with him, but I'm not sure the best way to introduce him to this. Has anyone had success in teaching young kids to meditate? Please share your experiences.
