Brandie
I am a mother of an autistic child as well as a student of psychology and social work with a minor geared towards early european history. My career plan is to become a councelor with an emphasis on teenagers and children. Going into a specialty of eating disorders. My child is the most important thing in my life and one of the greatest accomplishments I will ever achieve is being his mother. Every day he amazes me in some new way and I learn something not only about myself but humanity as well.
Have the scientologist brain washed poor Katie Holmes?
What do you think? Did Tom Cruise and his cult brain wash poor Katie Holmes? Should somebody save her? What can we do?

My seven year old has been running between 100-104 fever since early yesterday. He's been all achy with no appetite and his stomachs' been hurting. He keeps blinking his eyes a lot. I think they might be hurting him. His main complaint is a headache. I've been having him drink plenty of gatorade and eating here and there when he feels up to it. Is there anything else I should be doing? Should I call the doctor in the morning? He has autism so he has a hard time relaying all of his symptoms to me, but I think he's gotten all of them across.
1 AnswerInfectious Diseases1 decade agoAdult AD/HD and medications. What does anyone know about it? I'm scared it's going to mellow me out to much.
I'm a sagittarius with a yellow life aura (yes I like new age stuff and it fits me like a glove :P) I really love the fact that I have a very get up and go attitude and bottles of endless energy, but since being diagnosed I have begun to notice that I am easily distracted and get really annoyed when I can't get back on task. Before being diagnosed I never though of it, if I got distracted I just went off with whatever I was doing. I've realized if I drink a lot of caffeine I actually tend to slow down which makes sense with the diagnosis. I often quit soda for periods and have even more energy but I always have a soda when I go to class or am working at a job that I have to sit still for the whole time. My therapist has suggested talking to my doctor and going over my options for drugs, but he's so RX happy I don't want to talk to him until I know what I want. I'm afraid if I'm on the medication I'm going to be lethargic and not have my endless energy and I enjoy it so much!
2 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoAnybody have any ideas how to get a high functioning seven year old autistic boy to be motivated for spelling?
He can spell all his words when he wants to! The first three weeks of school he had 100's and now he just doesn't care. I can't get him to be motivated to study the words it's the only problem we're having at this time which is just awesome to say the least! We've tried a few reward systems, but he just doesn't care. His aid has been giving him his test and his teacher is going to start this week, but I can't get him to work on the words at all when he's at home. He doesn't even try on the test he gives of 'silly' answers that he knows is wrong.
