  • working with an ex?

Here's the deal. My soon to be ex husband works at a hospital and it turns out half of the hospital likes to gossip about what I am doing (which I found out from a friend at the hospital). My soon to be ex has continued and started the gossip about me. I am now looking for a job and several people have told me to apply at the hospital for a position I would be perfect for me. If I apply and actually get the job, then I would not be working in the same area as him. I know how to leave my home life at home and my work life at work. HE takes home life to work. I have been told by several people that they do not exactly like him, but he thinks everyone loves him. If I do get the job, then I would hardly see him since it is in a totally seperate area. If I don't apply for the job and attempt to get it, then I won't be able to see the kids as much (totally other story, he's getting custody).

So my ? is, should I apply for the job or respect his wishes and not apply?

  • Need snacks that are kid friendly for picky eaters.?

I am a girl scout leader and I am looking for HEALTHY snacks for the girls. Some of the girls are very picky and one is allergic to nuts (peanuts, tree nuts, almonds, etc.). Does anyone know of some good snacks that the girls will enjoy?

We are all tired of cheese crackers and CapriSun...we need a variety.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

  • How can I lower my electric bill?

Here is the deal. My last month statement meter reading was 22542. I just got my bill in and this month was 25652 (a whopping 3110 kw/h used). This is the MOST it has EVER been (including the winter). I went to check my meter today and it is at 26932 (1280 kw/h used so far). It does not say the date the meter was checked. These are the things that are run, on, or plugged in ALL the time:

    Appliances

    Computer

    Televisions

    Game systems (X-box 360, Wii, Playstation 3)

    Treadmill

    Fish Tank

I use natural lighting (windows and open doors) for light during the day and most of the time the only lights on in the house after dark are the fish tank and a lamp (60 watt bulb). I open the windows (because it is so nice outside). The heater only comes on for 6 hours at night to keep the house warm enough for the kids.

How can I lower the electric bill so that it is better for the environment and saves me money?

Thanks in advance to everyone who responds!

  • Topamax question?

My Neurologist just put me on Topamax for pain management (facial nerve problem). Now when I eat, my food tastes funny. For example, chips taste too salty. Oriental Ramen Noodles taste nasty.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, is there anyway you have overcome it?

  • Survey - what do you consider an ideal housewife?

I am trying to figure out the NEW idea of an ideal housewife. From how the house looks to how she treats her husband. Not the ideal 1950's housewife of Donna Reed (because we don't have scripts or writers) but a REAL housewife.

    An example is:

Keeps the house clean as if she is expecting company. Looks nice when the husband comes home (but what is looking nice?).

    Thanks for all the answers!!

  • Need to get information on Brownie and Junior Girl Scouting?

I am a new Girl Scout leader and I have a group (not just one level). This is the first Girl Scout troop in this town EVER. We are in the middle of our cookie sales but we still don't have the funds...at least not until March. The community I live in is poor to say the least, so I can't and won't ask for dues (some can't afford the $10 registration fee). SO I am trying to find all the information I can before having to turn to the council and beg them for assistance to start up the troop library of leader books, badge books, hand books, etc.

Does anyone know of a site or have information about all the different awards, badges, try-its (brownies)....Thanks for all the help!!!

  • Reasonable goals?

Are these reasonable goals to obtain

    Current Weight 220 lbs

    Jan 23 - 215 lbs

    Feb 14 - 200 lbs

    June 10 - 160 lbs

    Sept 1 - 140 lbs

I know that it is hard to obtain each goal weight by a desired day, but after being overweight for a long time, i need to do something. Each of these dates has a significance for me personally.

Please, no "quit eating" or "get off your lard a s s and workout". I exercise 5 times a week on cardio and 3 times a week on weights. I eat an average of 1250 cals a day and no more than 20 grams of fat. I also have 2 children to raise, a husband to take care of, and a house to run...plus babysitting after school and at a church. REAL answers are appreciated. You can see a pic of me at my myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/kj97y100 so you can see what I look like instead of the tiny picture yahoo has.

  • Serious responses only. How do I get rid of the post pregnancy pooch?

MOST Women have what I refer to as a "pooch". It is that wonderful excess of fat under the waistline. Now, I have had 2 kids and really need to get rid of the pooch. What do you recommend to do to lose the fat.

I eat between 1000-1500 cals a day. Exercise 5 times a week (cardio, weights, spot training) and have barely lost any inches. Is there something that you have done that works to get rid of the pooch?

    Thanks!

  • Earth Day Items?

My girl scout service unit is doing a "holiday extravaganza" where each troop picks a holiday to inform other troops about. I am looking for free or near free things to give away for our holiday, Earth Day. We also have to do a game, and have books and videos about it. Does anyone have any good links? Thanks a bunch!!

  • Am I over-reacting?

Here's the history. I caught my husband "making out" with a female co-worker in our home. Yes, I am still with him only because he knows I have him by the balls now. And this was b4 we moved. The other day he came home with a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt and Tommy cologne. He doesn't know who gave it 2 him (or so he tells me) and doesn't care 2 find out. He is not part of the "secret Santa" thing. AND there is a woman who said 2 him, "If you divorce your wife, we can go on a date." I have seen and heard (from other people) how rude he is 2 her but she doesn't get it through her head. Am I over-reacting 2 the present of asking him 2 find out who gave it 2 him so he can return it? If it was me who got the gift, then he would demand 2 know who has a "thing" for me and return the gift. Should I confront the married woman about her comments to him? I want 2, but I don't want my husband 2 lose his job because of her and the things I would LOVE 2 make sure my point got across.

I have written a book which I am revising. I want to send a query letter to an agent but don't know what a "great" one looks like. Does anyone have a website, or a letter I could use as a guide?

Also, where can I find a list of reputable agents?

  • How can I help "funds" for a public school?

I am a Girl Scout Leader in a small community. All the funds that the school has goes directly to paying the teachers, and there is not much left over. What can the troop do to help the school buy gym equipment, school supplies, etc? Also, the council I am in is having bad press because of another troop, so this would help re-establish faith in Girl Scouts.
