  • New ideas for children participation in the wedding ceremony?

I feel really stupid asking this question, but I'm finally at a loss. I've even been talking to some of my colleagues but to no avail; they haven't come up with anything new, either.

So I'm asking for your help.

I am performing a ceremony for a couple that wants to include her daughter (9). The daughter is going to be the flower girl & she might hold the rings but they want to do something else. Only I don't know what that something else should be.

They don't want to present the daughter with a gift (ring/bracelet/necklace). They don't want to do a family unity candle, nor do they want to do a family sand ceremony or a rose presentation. Step dad doesn't want to repeat a vow to her.

They don't want her to do a reading, escort her mother or jump the broom as a family. She doesn't sing or play an instrument, either.

I did think that maybe we could do a symbolic certificate signing like the license or the Jewish Ketubah but it's outside & I won't know the set up until I get to the wedding. They have opted to not have a rehearsal. This is my last idea I have to present to the couple.

    Any ideas?

  • Portable Wedding Venues?

A peer of mine is considering buying an inflatable building/church in which to hold weddings; to the tune of $50,000 for what they want.

Would YOU hold your wedding in an inflatable church?

  • Self-Contained Portable PA System......Which is the better deal? And Why?

Could someone please check these two out & tell me which is

the better deal for the money? Which will serve me better for the long haul? I assume it's the more expensive one.

I am doing an outside wedding to a guest attendance of 70-100 and have 2 larger indoor weddings that have a guest attendance of about 200, neither place having sound.

I need something portable, AC/DC, lightweight, something powerful enough to operate a single mic that not only hears me but the bride & groom as well in case the groom doesn't want to wear a mic; and also opearte a CD player at the same time.

  • Is anyone here of Native American decent? I need Wedding Words?

As far as I can figure out, it is a Pueblo wedding ceremony of handwashing (unlike the Jewish tradition) which symbolizes the washing away of past pain & old loves.

What are the words that go with this ceremony? I would think that there would be particular ones. I find none, anywhere. And how, precisely, is the ceremony performed?

  • A 2-part semi-wedding question.......about artificial fingernails. I need a nail glue that will REALLY hold !

I asked this in the beauty section...to no avail.

I have been refinishing a drum & my nails are a sight! I am to perform a wedding & I've waited to long to get to a salon.

When I've used artificial nails in the past, I usually end up leaving one someplace. I can't do that this time! What glue do I use & is there a trick to making it hold?

Part 2......How did you do your nails for your wedding? Did you go to a salon? Do them yourself? Painted? Clear? French manicure?

  • For your ceremony what did your male/female minister/officiant wear?

When I perform a formal wedding, I wear a chasuble over a skirt or pants instead of over an Alb.( like priests do) I steer clear of wearing white out of respect for the bride.

For more informal weddings I usually wear a simple dress.

    So for your wedding.....

    1. What did the officiant wear?

    2. Was it their choice or was it at your request?

    3. Did you approve? or

    4. Wasn't it a big deal to you either way?

  • Can someone point me in the right direction to find out how to make an MP3 from a CD?

I need to send one in an email. I have no idea where to start. Someone told me I could use MusicMatch but so far I haven't been able to.

I need it explained so that even I can understand it.
