Is anyone here of Native American decent? I need Wedding Words?

As far as I can figure out, it is a Pueblo wedding ceremony of handwashing (unlike the Jewish tradition) which symbolizes the washing away of past pain & old loves.

What are the words that go with this ceremony? I would think that there would be particular ones. I find none, anywhere. And how, precisely, is the ceremony performed?

Look online under Wedding vows or Wedding Ceremonies. That is where I found mine and I ran into alot of Native American cerimonies. Just those two words into a yahoo seach. Hope that helps.

Native ceremony should only be done by someone who is traditional and has done the ceremony many times. It is no different then asking how a Catholic or Baptist wedding ceremony is performed, then trying to mimic it yourself. Their is a reason why our ceremonies have existed and have been performed certain ways for many, many generations. It is not something to be taken lightly.

I mean no disrespect or meanness in my words. If what you are looking for is that deeply in your heart. Then there are ways to find someone true to help you. Take them tobacco and ask them your question. They will tell you what you need to know.

Be well and many blessings on your union.

This is the only prayer I could find.

    PUEBLO INDIAN PRAYER

Hold on to what is good,

Even if it is a handful of earth.

Hold on to what you believe in,

Even if it is a tree

    Which stands by itself.

Hold on to what you must do,

Even if it is a long way from here.

    Hold on to life,

Even if it is the easier to let go.

    Hold on to my hand

Even when I have gone away.
