  • How do I fix Yahoo Mail Unicode icons failing to load?

I'm running Firefox 25 on a Windows 7 Home system, and the none of the new unicode icons that Y! mail uses are loading (I'm getting the unicode squares with the code). What do I need to do to fix this? I've tried clearing my browser cache, restarting my browser, restarting my computer. The icons work on this system using IE, but the performance degradation of having to use IE kills me (as in it literally takes 20 minutes to open IE and load Y! mail). Is there a unicode add-on pack for FF25 I can download and fix it? As a side note, the icons do load on my FF25 Windows Vista laptop, so I know it is not FF25 specifically, just my installation on this system.

  • How do I align values in a CSS table based on a point?

How do I set up a table to align a column based on a point? For example; if I had the numbers set { 3.8, 6, 8.23, 10.1, 14 }, each on its own row in a table, and I want the decimal points to line up....

    To look similar to:

(*NOTE: "_" are place holders as Yahoo Answers doesn't allow HTML tags (<pre> or <code>) in question details.)

    __3.8

    __6

    __8.23

    _10.1

    _14

I also would like to be able to line up strings of text:

    ____8 rainy days

    __14 sunny days

    ____1 snow day

    ______7 fair days

(lined up based on the word "day")

Maybe a combination of the both? I realize I may have to make two columns to accomplish aligning two separate things.

    __12.8%_ like candy

    ___7%___like vegetables

    __57.3%_ like fruit

    __22.9%_ like pizza

Lined up based on decimal point and the word "like".

I have to use CSS because the table is on a wiki, and I don't want to have to border-collapse the whole table..

  • DC motor & alternator in one unit?

I am helping my son work on a "science fair" project. He is trying to build a bicycle that runs on DC battery power. We know that this already exists, so he said what if we up the ante and build one for places with a lot of hills (like our rural Maine area). We wants to build a DC motor that also dual purposes as an alternator. That way he can run the motor drawing energy up the hill, and when he is just coasting down the other side the alternator side can kick in and offer some kind of recharging factor to the batteries. Any idea of where I can find such a dual purpose motor / alternator or where to look to see if maybe using a bunch of spare auto parts out in the yard build something like that?

  • How do I convert a 6v + ground electrical system to a 12v - ground system?

I have a 1962 IH T5 Crawler dozer that currently is set up for a 6V + ground system, and I want to convert it to a 12V -ground system. What I need is a list of parts I need to get and some sime instructions or a clear schematic of what goes where. I know I need to get a 12V Altenator (I think I can use the one that came off of my '91 GMC Sonoma) Is that correct? Thanx.

  • Client-side dynamic drop down menu?

Does anyone have or know where i can find a working javascript/VBscript that will allow me to have a drop down menu that loads its values based on the selection in another drop down menu which in turn gets its value from another dropdown menu? Just as an example to explain my question...

Lets say I wanted a menu that listed manufacturer:

    Ford, GM, Chrystler.

    then based on that model:

    F150, F250, F350, Superduty, Mustang, etc...

then based on that engine type:

    4.2V6, 5.4V8, 5.8V8, 6.2D, etc...

How do I do that? I've made a javascript that seemed to work, then I put it in a form and it doesn't work anymore. I can't figure out why, or how to fix it yet. I'm getting pretty familar with HTML, Javascript, HTML DOM. I don't have access at this time to PHP, ASP, MySQL... I've avoided databases by using arrays. Thank you.

  • Website visitor dialup detector?

Is there anyway I can create or D/L a Java applet, javascript,VBscript, PHP/ASP, swf or any other thing that will detect if a user visits my website using a dialup connect. I want to have my site automaticaly redirect dialup users to a special low-res version of my site to make it load better and fast for them. Is there anyway I can do this. I was thinking maybe make a script to ping their server and figure out how fast there connection is by how long the ping takes, but not sure if satellite users might have too much latency for this to work. Any ideas?
