  • Best city in Tuscany to stay for 4 days?

Going to Tuscany in September for 10 days. We don't want to unpack and pack too many times, so here's a possible itinerary:

    - 3 nights in Florence (hotel)

    - 4 nights in Tuscan town (villa or farmhouse)

    - 3 nights in Rome (hotel)

What's the best city in Tuscany to stay in that gives a true Tuscan experience (w/ good food and wine) and is in a great location to do day trips?

And if you can't pick one, what are the top two? Thanks.

  • Preferred itinerary from Rome to Florence / Tuscany?

We're flying into Rome (land around 9am) and have 10 days to spend in Florence and Tuscany region before flying back out of Rome. Is it best to:

    1. take the train (or drive?) straight up to Florence and work our way down to Rome or

    2. do a loop from Rome up to Florence and back?

We only want to stay in Rome, Florence and one Tuscan city.

    Thanks.

  • question about pack mentality with dogs and their owners?

My 2.5 yr old boxer is stuck to my side whenever i'm home. He seems to get nervous when i leave the room, yet he's fine with my husband (doesn't follow him when he leaves the room and listens to him more often). At first i thought he wanted to spend time with me because i work in an office/am gone most of the day and my husband works from home; however, i've heard recently that separation anxiety is more about dogs believing that they're "top dog" in a pack with their owners and are uncomfortable with them making decisions without their approval.

For those with experience / knowledge in this area - does my dog think i'm 2nd to him in the pack or does he just want to spend time with me? Thanks.

  • Must see stops for 10 day Tuscany trip in September?

My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary in Tuscany in mid-late September. Flying in/out of Rome. Would like to stop in Florence, Siena, Montepulciano (at the very least). Can you tell me:

    1. Other towns we should see?

    2. Towns best for day trips vs those we should stay the night?

Oh - we're big wine folks, too. Please - only answer based on personal experience.

    Thanks for your help!

  • what's the best way to introduce a cat to a home with animals?

We're getting a 10 month old female cat and adding her to our household with a 5 yr old male cat and a 1.5 yr old male boxer. Any good ideas from experienced pet owners who have done this successfully? We obviously want the cats to be friends and the dog not to terrorize her. Thanks!

  • Difference in swing between opposite field HRs vs pulling the ball? read details pls?

Not talking about people who strictly hit opposite field vs pull hitters. I know the differences in swing there.

I'm talking about hitters who typically hit to one field then suddenly switch to the other.

Take Barry Bonds, for ex - he's a pull hitter. Yet this season, all 3 of his homeruns are opposite field.

What's going on? Is he using all arms and no legs? Swinging late on the ball?

And no Bonds comments, pls. just looking for an answer to the question. thanks!
