  • Help with these recycled (reusing) words?

Not in reference to recycling itself particularly. However, words can be reused to create various word combo's or phrases. EX: landmark, land mine, landscape; run around, run away, run off; rainbow, rain coat, rain dance..etc.

I need a different word that will go with each of these word sets: ____pen, ____house, _____room and ____work, ____test, _____block.

I'm trying to help my daughter with her homework and we've done sheets of these and can't figure out a word for these phrases. Thanks!! :)

PS: I won't be giving her the answers directly, but I will use it to help navigate her in the right direction of options. Thanks again :)

  • How does it go claiming taxes on your paychecks?

If you claim more then you get more money on your paycheck and if you claim less you get more taken out in taxes on your paycheck.

I'm not doing any forms here..we were just talking about it and got ourselves confused in conversation. Just curious!

  • How are twins "decided"?

Is it strictly only up to the woman's body and how many egg's are released or something or does the man have something to do with it too? I hear a lot of people say neither of us have twins in our family, or they say he has twins but I (female) don't, etc. When trying to determine how they ended up with twins or if they are likely to have twins. How is it decided?

  • Is a pregnant woman considered as 1 or 2 people on an application for assistance?

Like if she is applying for Medicaid, Healthy Start, Caresource, etc. On the income eligibility charts it usually says you can make this much for a 3 person home, this much for a 4 person home, etc. If you have 3 people does the unborn baby account for 4 or is it still only 3?

  • Where can you find out what HCG level is detected on a pregnancy test?

It seems I see and hear everywhere that these companies are supposed to put the minimum level of HCG that a pregnancy test can detect for a positive result, however I have never once seen a test actually list the amount outside or inside the box. Anyone know where you can look this stuff up at? I know one that detects 20 IU/L (is that the right measurement?) is much better than one that detects 50/100 IU/L,etc.

  • Questionable pregnancy test results?

I have seen and heard about the whole faint line thing on pregnancy tests, but I have never seen a line this faint. I mean it literally looks like a "silhouette" if you will or even a shadow. Possibly even a dent or scratch type line on the test itself. How the heck do I know if its positive or not? And if i'm just really early on and it is positive, how long until I should test again and get a more obvious result. I'm not sure how quickly HCG levels rise.

  • Experiences with severe headaches in children?

We are currently seeing a doctor about it but you know they put you through a battery of tests and it takes days to get results anyhow, so I just wanted to see if anyone else had any experiences to share or what it maybe even ended up being. They aren't related to a virus, they don't present like a migraine, they don't seem to have anything to do with vision, etc. They come all hours of the day all at once and very severe. They have also woke her from sleep at nite in severe pain a couple times (which is the main reason we seen a dr) and its been going on for about 6 wks. Again, we are under a doctors care already but just any ideas/thoughts/experiences?

  • How do you know if your child is ready for a sleepover?

My daughter (a little over 6 1/2 yrs old) was invited to a sleepover this weekend and I'm not sure if I should let her go. I don't know the family or the little girl who invited her and she's never done anything like this before. She's only ever stayed with family. I feel like I should loosen up a bit and call and talk to the Mom (which I intend to do regardless) but I'm still nervous. What age is a good age for them to start going to sleepovers, etc? She's never even been to a function, birthday party or even to her friends house's without me. Usually even the parents have always preferred that I go ahead and stay just in case. I think I get more nervous because it is just not the same as when I grew up where you could trust people more, you just never know these days anymore. Any thoughts/suggestions? I plan to let her call to come home if she can't make it through the night, IF I let her go.

  • Is a John Deere double bagger compatible with any size deck?

For instance, we have a 38 inch deck and are considering a 48 inch deck. Will the double bagger attachment fit the 48 inch or would we need some type of transition piece to make it work, etc?

  • When can pregnancy be considered a pre-existing condition when attempting to obtain health insurance?

I know certain things and meds your already on are considered pre-existing conditions typically. However, if someone is already pregnant and signs up for their insurance plan at work can they be denied coverage related to the pregnancy? What if the person marries and is added onto the husbands health insurance policy? The only thing I have heard for sure is if you obtain health insurance yourself independently and purchase the maternity rider, then you cannot become pregnant for a specific amount of time after you get it.

  • If I didn't restart bc pills after the "off" week, would I continue my periods as normal?

I always previous to being on birth control (bc) pills had a regular period. I went on pills literally only for the birth control effect, no other medical reasons. If I were to not start a new pack after my "off" or sugar pill/placebo (whatever you'd like to call it) week, would I continue to have my period month to month on this schedule I'm already on? Would I be able to become pregnant as soon as the upcoming month, if I went off pills also? I know previously I was pregnant easily when I wasn't on the pill..but I didn't know if you needed a certain amount of time after being off before one could become pregnant.

  • What do you do when you have a 5yr old who doesn't seem to care or try when it comes to reading or homework

She's 5 yrs old & is the first we've had any major problems out of. I know all will & are very different, which is fine..but reading is a whole nother ball game with her. We've tried everything & feel like we're at a loss. We have her repeat words, sound them out, just say the letters in the word, read it to her first, have her read it repeatedly, etc. I could go on & on. We praise her SO much when she does well & she's not in trouble when she can't do it either. We just start over & try again or take a break all together. We don't sit & make her read for hours on end..but even little 4 page books can take 20-30 minutes or more & by the time the book is done she still can't tell you what a word is. It doesn't seem like this teacher (in a new school) does things the same as our other kids K teacher. All are different, I understand but it doesn't seem like she does extra stuff previous teachers did either. They don't seem to work with kids at all at this daycare either. HELP!

  • Why would I feel random twinge/twitch type movements in my lower abdomen (not pregnant)?

No, I'm not pregnant. Its always happened with me for years and years and I've never really been sure why. Its just random..sometimes will happen for a minute or two at a time, sometimes only one movement. Sometimes occasionally..sometimes rarely. I'm just curious what it is really.

  • What is the origination of the abbreviation "ps" and what does it stand for?

In reference to "PS" as in something you would put at the bottom of a letter or blog entry, etc after you have already signed off and summed up your previous wording.

I've heard it has something to do with "post script" however I was also told that was a military reference or a type of printer depending who you talk to. If in fact that is the words behind ps, how did we come to use it from the military? I attempted looking much of this up myself but majority of what I found related to PlayStations & Palestine!

  • Is there anything requiring a daycare to cover costs of medical bills for injuries on their property?

My son was hurt at daycare, on their property and during daycare hours that he is normally there. Hurt bad enough where he had to be taken to dental emergency, not just a scrape on the knee type thing. Our previous daycare always made it clear that any bills you get, bring to them and there insurance would pay for. This daycare hasn't said a word to me about it. Is there something requiring them to pay it or at least help? Anything??

  • How does one tell the difference between settling and the grass being green on the other side?

In a relationship of course. Sometimes one could feel as thought they are giving up things they want for love, but then they might also not want to give them up. Then one could also think it could be different with another person or I would be able to accomplish this outside of the relationship. In regards to anything; having kids, traveling, family, money, jobs, etc. Whats your opinion or experience?
