  • What are you doing to end the war in Iraq? Who is going to March on Washington on January 27th?

http://www.unitedforpeace.org/ is coordinating a march on Washington, DC for January 27th to protest the war in Iraq, and the president's suggestion to send more troops rather than bringing our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, mothers and fathers home.

Many other organizations are trying to rally the American public to protest this meaningless war and the continued devastation of lives. What actions have you taken, and/or what references and ideas can you give the rest of us so we can make our voices heard? Please provide links when possible.

  • Pro-Lifers: How many of you have adopted; especially babies with birth defects or diseases or addicted mothers

I used to work in an urban hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I saw many babies that were born premature, addicted to drugs, with HIV+ status or other diseases, as well as other birth defects. I saw one baby that was born to a 13 year-old whose family member had raped her. I saw babies that grew into children that had various physical, behavioral, emotional, and learning disabilities.

How many of you have adopted some of these children? If you have not -- how is it that you are so self-righteous that you feel you have the right to tell the rest of society that all pregnancies should be carried to term? What are you doing to help the inner city schools that are overwhelmed with these kids that are born into such sad situations that learning reading, writing and arithmetic are the least of their problems?

How many of you are willing to admit that you sit in your cushy houses and put on your Sunday best every week, but are completely ignorant to the horrors of their lives?

  • Why do people ask a question, then don't keep it up long enough for me to finish typing my reponse?

I see that this has been asked before, but I want other askers to realize that it is SOOO frustrating! When people ask personal questions, I usually put A LOT of thought and time into my Answer; trying to make sure I make it relevant and thorough, yet readable. Then I review for spelling/grammar errors, then hit Preview, check it again, go back and edit if needed and finally, I hit Submit and see...

"the Asker has removed this question"

    AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a way that Yahoo! Answers can make potential Askers more aware (and hopefully appreciative) of what we're doing here? I also have several Answers I've provided that have correct information, but because I was the only one who responded, the Question is still open weeks or even months later! If they got what they wanted from the one reply, I think it should be acknowledged!

  • Mazda Owners: How do you like your Mazda? Would you buy it again if you could go back and do it over?

I'm thinking of buying a small SUV sometime this year, and the new CX-7 looks pretty sweet. http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action...

I've always driven Volkswagens, so I'm a little nervous to buy a different make, even though I really like ALL Mazda's new models. Still, I don't really know anyone who has a Mazda, so I want to know more:

What has your experience with Mazda been? How long ago did you buy your Mazda? What model/year do you have? Was it New or Used? About how many miles have you put on the car? Do you still like/love it? Do you feel it's reliable and safe and fun and economical? Would you buy that car again if you could go back in time? Would you consider another Mazda for future purchases?

Thanks in advance to those who offer their help!

  • If you get just one answer to your question, why don't you give the points?

Sometimes the first respondant gives a correct and complete answer, so no one else really needs to reply -- why then do these questions remain open so long? Shouldn't the "Asker" be kind enough to reward the "Answerer" with the points? Does Yahoo! Answers remind the "Asker" to check if they're responses?

  • Why did the color and layout of Yahoo! Answers change a few minutes ago?

I have a Mac, running OS X Tiger. I started viewing this site earlier this evening and all looked as it usually does. Then, as I flipped to another page, it all changed. The text is darker (a good thing), but the layout is mixed up. Has anyone else had this happen?
