  • How can I find out why I have high CPU usage?

Are there any apps besides the Windows Task Manager to tell why my XP machine is showing only 10 for CPU usage by applications when looking at task manager processes, but displays 50% usage at the bottom of the screen? The 50% seems more correct since everything is running slower than normal. This has been happening for months. XP is fully patched and updated with current service packs, has 4gb ram (only using 3.5) and plenty of HD space.

    Thanks.

  • Lawn Mower Carb - blocked fuel intake?

I have a B&S 6.5 HP engine on my lawn mower. It will not start unless I pour gas into the carb. I removed the carb and have noticed the inlet where the fuel hose was removed does not allow any air in (or fuel). I sprayed carb cleaner in it but that did not help. I tried compressed air but still, nothing will pass. I am guessing you should be able to blow into that inlet and air will come out somewhere... it doesn't allow air in.... suggestions?

  • Sony DCR PC101 Firewire not detected by XP or Vista?

I am trying to move video from my HandyCAM PC101 to a laptop. I have 2 laptops, both with IEEE 1394 ports. I have the cable connected, but neither laptop (one with XP and one with Vista) detect the camcorder being connected, and the Windows Movie Maker indicates no device available when trying to Capture. I have the A/V Video Out turned ON as the manual states. Is this a driver issue, or is could it be the cam/cable?

  • Homelite Chain Saw stalls after a few seconds?

I have a 33cc Homelite chain saw (2 cycle) which starts up with full choke, but stalls when I rev it or go to 1/2 choke or no choke. I took out the spark plug and pulled the crank a few times, and also replaced with a new spark plug. I checked the air filter and tried starting with it off, no luck. It has new gas/oil which is correctly ratio/mixed. Any other suggestions?

  • Universal Remote for Samsung Home Theater HT-Q40?

Has anyone bought a universal remote that works fully with this system? I know the expensive $200 remotes work, but I bought this system for $50 (open box) and looking for an inexpensive remote to get to the menu/system to adjust speaker settings. Thanks.

  • Visual Basic.NET vs ASP.NET - Which to learn 1st?

I have created several databases and programs in MS Access 2000/2003 that store information, call the windows command line to run other exe and batch files, run reports, and export data to excel files. I would like to move to a web-based system and/or a stand-alone exe system without "MS ACCESS" being in the background.

I have 2 books from the library.

    - Teach Yourself Visual Basic.Net 2003

    - ASP.NET in 50 minutes a day.

Both of these are hefty books (almost 1000 pages each).

Am I going in the right direction? What are the differences in these 2 programming languages? It appears they can interact, so which should I learn first?

I have some knowledge of website design (through FrontPage) and moderate skills in VBA programming behind the scenes in Access 2000/2003. Thank you!
