What is the statute of limitations on a divorce decree?
I am married to an Army Reservist. We have filed for divorce in 2006 with CA Superior Court. We have already split all the assets and determined a co-parenting plan. The problem is she has never signed the agreements and I have never received a legal decree ending my marriage. Under the Solider Sailor Act, legal action cannot be taken on a service member serving in a war zone. The problem is she isn't in a war zone. She's based in New Jersey! So I'm stuck and confused. Any advice?
3 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoDo you live in the SF Bay Area and are sick of the cost of commuting?
I am. I just wanted to see what my fellow SF Bay Area commuters are doing to offset their misery. Did you turn to biking? BART? Telecommuting? It's just getting ridiculous. Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.
2 AnswersCommuting1 decade agoHow can an engineer get into the financial services industry?
I'm at a crossroads in my career. I'm burnt out of engineering and want out. I realized that it just isn't me. I have been interested in the financial services for a long, long time but don't know what options I have to break into the industry. After talking to friends, family and those in the know, I have been inundated with all the possible pittfalls. Yet, I am not discouraged. So can anyone please offer options or ideas other than going back to school for a MBA in Finance? Thanks in advance.
3 AnswersFinancial Services1 decade agoAny suggestions for a safe email service for children?
I'm looking at setting up an email account for each of my two small kids. However, I'm paranoid about their safety while online or what they receive. Any suggestions on a free service or opinions if Yahoo! Mail will work. Or any advice on what to look out for.

2 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoNeed some serious career/family advice.?
I'm too excited about the opportunity to think straight. I've been offered to interview for a Quality Assurance / Regulatory Affairs Compliance Consultant. This is a major promotion with much more money than what I'm being paid now. I’m a single parent who has dedicated everything to his two small kids – ages 5 and 7. Here's the problem, it will require up to 20% travel, including international travel - Mexico, Ireland, China, Korea. Should I accept the position if offered in lieu of my two small kids? However, this position will take time away from them, but will provide a substantial increase in income. So there’s the trade-off. What would you do?

What's people's take on Nate Burleson? Possible breakout season? Worth the pick up in late rounds? Worth a starting spot if I need to start 3 WRs?
11 AnswersFantasy Sports1 decade agoHow to protect mother-in-laws money from gambling husband?
Here’s the situation, wife wants to “hide” and protect money set aside for savings and retirement, etc. from husband with major gambling problem. Will having a savings or brokerage account in her name and a daughter’s name only be sufficient to protect from any “legal” proceedings (eg. Divorce, separation) or does the account need to be placed in a living trust or other estate planning tool? This issue seems to me that the money put away constitutes as “community property” in CA. CA is a community and no-fault divorce state.

17 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoAnyone struggling to find their bliss?
Okay. For starters, I hate my job. I'm a 35 yo, single-dad of two, with a mortgage. My job is a deadend. Before this, I was on my way onto something worthwhile but don't know if it's worth pursuing. I was accepted to nursing school but turned it down for the instant money. I'm looking at trying again but keep reminding myself of the 2 year committment. Is trying to find my bliss worth all this BS or should I stick with my loser job. Anyone else out there in a similar quagmire i.e. trying to find their bliss? Honest answers please.

25 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhat would you do if she wants to get back together after initating the divorce?
Just wondering what would you do or feel if your spouse, who iniated the divorce suddenly changed their minds in the middle of the procedings and wanted to reconcile or after the decree is filed and issued and they want to reconcile. What if their are children involved? Keep in mind the devastating heartache it is already, probably for the bad things said. Would you reconcile? What if you are still in love with them? For the children's sake?
Thanks for your answers.
10 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoTraining recovery question. Serious answers please b/c I'm in serious annoying pain.?
Okay. I love my training. Tonight, I went 2.5 hours. One hour kajukenbo. One and a half hours judo jiu-jitsu. Now I'm sore. In fact, my collar hurts but I can still move it. No more burning pain from earlier this evening. Here's my question: What do you people use to recover after a workout? I've already increased my chromium intake (chromium picolinate = 200 mcg; chromium chloride in a one-a-day vitamin = 120 mcg). I haven't increased potassium. I get 100 mg in a one-a-day vitamin. I think that's real low. Near the end of my sessions, my calves and sometimes my Serratus posterior inferior (my ribs) and the lumbar region cramp. I think that might be dehydration. I try to minimize my carb intake for health reasons and trying to drop a little more weight to get faster. Any tips, training ideas, suggestions?

8 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoWhat is pro se? Pros and cons using pro se in divorce proceedings?
I'm looking to get people's opinions on using pro se in divorce proceedings in California, namely Alameda County. I have the basic gist of pro se but want to know of people's experiences. Is it worth it? I've been preped by a lawyer and have been assured that family law judges would favor my case due to the unique circumstances prevailing i.e. I've been the primary care taker of my two children for the last 6 years. But I don't know how the finances will pan out. We are trying to work out a settlement outside of court but keep getting into arguements. We want to use mediation. But would arbitration or pro se be better in lieu of our arguing? Any advice would help and serious ones at that, please.
