  • do you believe that yahoo's "top answerers" exist?

i am more than a bit skeptical about the existence of some of the so-called "top contributors" on the leaderboards, particularly as most of the top ten have private questions and answers, leaving NO way to verify their activity.

on close examination it would appear to me that these are primarily "plants" by yahoo - probably employees, who have mined the boards for questions considered in need of "appropriate" answers.

i have been a member for the same length of time as "sunshine25 - Level 7 - 1486 Best Answers [in the journalism/news category] " but i have NEVER seen an answer by this supposedly extremely prolific answerer. supposedly having given 10, 863 answers over a three-year period means that she would have had to answer just under ten questions per day, EVERY DAY, for three years.

has anyone else ever thought about this???

  • CENSORSHIP by Good Ole Dr. Pill! Who'da thought?

http://bluemlein.blogspot.com/ - my friend sent me this link. My jaw dropped!

Read the blog and ask yourself why the Dr. Phil website would first publish the comment, then drop it? Could it possibly be that someone's nose was out of joint because of the last paragraph, which - in my opinion, at least - makes a valid point about the tenor of the show?

  • Can this level of mercy survive the modern age?

    Killer's wife salutes Amish mercy

The grieving Amish community has reached out to the Roberts family

The widow of a man who shot dead five Amish girls at a school in the US state of Pennsylvania has thanked the Amish community for their love and support.

Note: I am an atheist. However, if one had to choose one religion - or sect - that transcends the divisiveness and bigotry that plague so many other religions, my vote would go to the Amish/Old Order Mennonites.

  • What is your opinioin of WalMart now?

    Wal-Mart must pay workers $78m

Workers were not always paid for the extra time they worked

The world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, has been ordered to pay at least $78m (£42m) in compensation to workers who were forced to work during breaks.

A jury in a Pennsylvania court decided that Wal-Mart broke a state law by refusing to pay staff for the extra work they did.

  • What REALISTIC Solutions Are There To The Palestinian Situation?

    PLEASE:

No fanatical frothing at the mouth or religious jibberish, hate or stupidity from any side of the divide; if you have nothing to contribute to this question please answer another. Please to not bring "God" into the debate; this is a situation created by people, requiring solution by people.

The politicians, militaries, fanatics and vested interests have had their kick at the can, with the result that the entire Middle East has become a highly unstable powder keg that is also used by extremists to advance their own aims.

We can no more stand by and watch yet another generation being born into a life in a camp than we can watch yet another generation having to live life in a constant state of fear of being blown to smithereens.

  • Who saw the Dr Phil Show about Amanda and her Cellphone? And what did you think?

The girl's mother had Dr. Phil find the daughter. The show presented the fiasco that ensued in all its ickyness. One of the scenes shows the mother and the sister going into the shower while Amanda is naked. They are trying to retrieve her cellphone

http://bluemlein.blogspot.com/ has an interesting perspective, as do the more than 50 pages of posts on Dr. Phil's website.

  • DOT COM vs DOT CO.UK?

MY email address is registered at YAHOO.CO.UK.

UNTIL recently I got my mail; now people emailing me there get the dreaded mailer-daemon saying that the address is invalid.

WHEN I sign in at .co.uk I get into my box but the address is yahoo.com.

MY friend registered at .co.uk after I did. She still is able to receive mail at .co.uk.

I went to yahoo.co.uk to try to reregister my address and was told it was taken.

BY me. I was able to enter.

MOREOVER when I was signing up for this forum I gave my reclaimed address I received this notice:

Invalid Email Address.Your Email address x@yahoo.co.uk belongs to yahoo.co.uk which is restricted from use in Yahoo! registrations. Please choose a different email address.

    WHAT is going on?

WHY should I not be able to get my emails at yahoo.co.uk when my friend does?
