  • Is lust for your own wife bad?

I have a burning lust for my wife. I want to touch her all the time. It drives her crazy and sometimes causes fights. I don't want to do this with any other women. I want my wife. I have no desire to cheat. We have great communication and a fantastic relationship in every other way. I don't know quite how to handle it sometimes. Tonight she dressed super sexy and it drove me mad with desire. She made it real clear she didn't want sex tonight and I am left here writing this pretty flustered. Help!

  • Masturbation while married?

I am VERY happily married to the love of my life. We have opposite sexual appetites, where I'd like it 3 - 4 times a week and she is quite happy with once a month. We communicate very well and generally compromised at once or twice a week. When we have sex it is awesome with us both having orgasms. She tells me that once we get going she very much loves our sex life, it is just she doesn't have the appetite or desire for it.

My wife and I talk openly about everything and recently talked about when we masturbate. I was somewhat surprised to learn she masturbtes a few times a week. I am confused why she wants to satisfy herself when I am very much willing to do it for her. She said she doesn't really desire sex (I've known this from the beginning) but some times she is board or just wants to fall asleep which the orgasm helps her do.

We have talked it over and I told her that I would prefer her sexual energies be directed towards me since I'm more than happy to do whatever she wants to satisfy her. I know everyone masturbates so it isn't about it being "wrong", but just given they dynamic of our relationship, and how I want sex much more than she does, it would be nice for her to save what energy she does have in that department for me.

  • Why are there so few songs about a fathers love for his daughter(s)?

There are a number of songs about a father giving away his daughter at her wedding which are usually sober and even a bit sad, but always sappy. There are also songs about fathers being bad fathers to their daughters and traumatizing them. But only one that I have found about the pure healthy love a father has for his daughter which is Paul Simon's "Father Daughter". Are there any others?

  • Daughters hamster can't poop?

My daughters hamster has stopped pooping and looks to be in a lot of pain. She has a bloody bottom and it looks like the poop is just stuck. Any time I try and touch her to help she winces and pulls away. This morning I thought she was dead, but after some time she started moving again. She is eating and I gave her some fresh celery to try and get something moving.

Is there anyway to help her move that impacted poop? I think she has licked herself raw trying to get it out herself. Help!

  • Ideas for house rules for 7 and 3 year old.?

I'm a single dad and have two daughters 7 and 3 years old. It has become clear lately I need to have some clearly defined house rules. I want to make rules that apply to both girls, so there is constancy and no questions when a rule has been broken and what the consequences are.

I'm looking for ideas for house rules that can be understood by both a 7 and 3 year old.

  • How to deal with a spoiled and needy 7 year old?

I'm a divorced father of two daughters. I have joint custody. My oldest just turned 7. She has become terrified of going anywhere in my house without me or her 3 year old sister going with her, including the bathroom. She screams when I leave the room when she has dropped off to sleep waking up her sister. Last night I was at my ropes end and I screamed back. At one point she came down the stairs and grabbed hold of me like she was about to be tortured. I walked her up to the bed and threw her into it. I warned her that if she got out of bed again I would close the door and lock it (the worst possible punishment in her mind). She stayed in bed after that but was quite upset.

I was very upset myself. I don't easily loose my temper and I feel guilty this morning for doing so. Part of me thinks she needs some tough love to make her realize that she is strong and can be independent. We are going through some tough economic times and I think she is picking up on my stress around that.

My daughters are the most important things in my life. I feel like I'm screwing it up.

    Any advice?

  • Ex-wife move in as a roommate? Bad idea?

Times are tough right now. I'm upside down in my house business is down and money is tight. I want to stay where I'm at for the stability of my my two kids. I got divorced in 2008 but parted with my ex as friends. We have had no romantic connection for years.

An investment we both have may have gone bad which I was depending on and I am looking for ways to stay afloat. She also had this investment and is actually in a worse financial situation than myself.

Anyway talking with my ex tonight I told her I may be looking for a roommate to help pay the bills. She then asked if I would consider her moving into the downstairs (a tri-level home). In some ways this seems like the best option if I need to get a roommate as I know her and trust her and it would be great for our kids, but in other ways she is very controlling and can be very selfish and mean (why we are divorced). Part of me thinks it would be a really bad idea to be living under the same roof even if it is just as roommates just due to our history together. Would I be better off renting to a friend instead of my ex-wife even though we are still friends?

  • Dems take total control of Washington, what then?

I'm a moderate democrat who has already voted for Obama. However, even I'm a little concerned about the potential of a complete Democratic rule in Washington. Look what happened when the Republicans had absolute power for 6 years! While I'm more inclined to agree politically with the Democrats, I'm old enough to know that absolute power corrupts absolutely.

What do you think will happen in the next 2 - 4 years with Democrats ruling the all the branches of the Federal Government?

  • Hamster care 6/yo and 2/yo caretakers?

I just got my 6 year old a pet hamster. I'm separated from my wife and I have her and her 2 year old sister 3 days a week. My question is if a hamster can live OK being cared for every other day or every third day? I can do some basic care if needed, but I would like my daughter to learn the responsibility of taking care of an animal.

Also, my 2 year old LOVES the hamster and I can see it will be a bit of a problem for a while as she bats at it while giggling and laughing. She doesn't understand that she could hurt it. Any advice on how to help her learn to be gentle and careful with it?

  • Separated with kids help!?

My wife and I are separated and have two beautiful daughters 6 and 2 years old. We are pretty civil and even friendly now that we don't live under the same roof, but I am constantly reminded of why I wanted out of the marriage by how she treats our daughters. She bosses my oldest around and when she talks back things just escalate. When I am over at my wifes place I don't feel it is my place to intervene. My 6 year old was beside herself tonight when i left. She wanted me to stay or come stay with me. It tears me up inside. When she is staying with me she doesn't want to go to her mothers house.

    How should I handle it?

  • Ecconomic stimulus insanity?

The US is $9,600,000,000,000 in debt. That is about $30,000 for every man, woman and child in this country. I read recently that during the 7 years in office Bush has doubled the national debt. What is the rational behind giving people a check for $600 when the debt is so huge? What happened to fiscally conservative Republicans?

I remember Ross Perot who had the courage to talk about this. I haven't heard any candidate talk about this huge elephant in the room. My daughters get to inherit this huge mess from my generation. What can be done? Will it ever get better?

  • Getting divorced, need advice.?

My wife and I have decided to divorce. I'm 42 and she is 40. We have two kids 6 and 2 years old.

It has been a very long road to this point. We have done hundreds of hours of counseling and have pretty much exhausted any hope of reconciling.

So far we have both been extremely calm and rational about how to divide assets and debts as well as custody. That part is surprisingly going very smoothly.

While I'm feeling relief that this dysfunctional marriage will be over, I am still feeling periods of depression and deep sadness that seem to sneak up on me now that we are finally following through. I absolutely adore our two kids and will miss having daily contact with them.

I'm looking for advice on how to handle the coming months. How to handle my children reactions and adjustments etc. I'm especially interested in the advice of those who have gone through a no fault divorce with kids.

    Any help is welcome. Thanks!

  • On the verge of divorce...?

Yesterday was the last straw for me. I told my wife that as soon as I can find a place to live I am moving out. Our marriage has been on the rocks for most of our 7 years together. We have two kids, 6 and 2.

Now she is saying that she will be the one to move out, but I want to do what is best for our kids and everything I have read says that we should keep their routine as close to normal as possible.

I'm feeling really sad now that it has finally come to this. We have been through thousands and thousands of dollars in counseling.

What should I expect from here? I'm really worried about our kids. While I can't see myself being with my wife in the future it tears me up inside to think how this will affect them. Part of me thinks I should just stay in this unhappy marriage so our kids don't have to go through this.

    Comments please...

  • "The Secret" Useful information or koolaid drinking NewAgers?

The first time I watched "The Secret" I was actually impressed. I liked a lot of what it said. My wife really got into it as well.

After sitting with it for a number of months and getting some perspective on it, I'm really starting to wonder about it while my wife has gotten more and more involved. She spent $2000 on "Science of Getting Rich" thing from Bob Proctor which has put an enormous strain on our marriage. I'm now doing more research on "The Secret" and am starting to see it as actually dangerous way of thinking.

  • SGR Science of Getting Rich... Help!?

My wife came home tonight with a big white box after going to a "free" Bob Proctor seminar. I asked her what was in the box and she told me about the CD's and MP3 player etc. etc. My next question was "How much did it cost?" She refused to answer. I am the sole bread winner of the house and we have to come up with over $3000 for taxes for 2007 which we don't have.

I was blown away when she told me it was $2000. She is upset because she doesn't think I am supporting her dreams and I am upset because I don't think she is being financially responsible. "Science of Getting Rich" alright, for Bob Proctor maybe.

I don't know what to do. Advice please!

  • 1099-INT tax rate?

I made a substantial amount of interest in 2007 that will be reported on a 1099-INT. Is it taxed like capital gains at 15%, or is it taxed at my normal federal rate?

  • Do you think the human race will ever go extinct?

I was having a discussion with my uncle over the holidays and he said he thought that global warming would cause the extinction of the human race. I thought that was total non-sense. We then started talking about what could conceivably cause the extinction of the human race. Where we agreed was with gamma ray bursts, major comet impact etc.

Do you think the human race will ever go extinct (like the dinosaurs)? If so, how do you think it will happen?

  • What if HIllary Clinton gets the Dem nomination?

I'm a registered Democrat but I'm also very fiscally conservative and have strong Libertarian leanings. In the old days I was a Republican before the Neo-con right wing evangelical Christians got a strangle hold of the party.

Anyway, my question is this - If Hillary Clinton gets the Democratic nomination, does that mean a Republican will get elected president? From what I have heard Obama stands a much better chance against almost all the front running Republicans than Hillary.

My problem with Hillary is actually the same problem I have with Bush. She is too polarizing. I think we need someone who can bring some unity back to our countries politics and Hillary won't be able to do that. What do you think?
