HELP! I'm addicted to Yahoo Answers. I can't stop HELP! MUST HAVE BEST ANSWER, MUST HAVE BEST ANSWER, MUST HAVE... Actually... Yahoo Answers is a lot of fun and a great way to spend free time online. I answer many questions about Vietnam, because I've been studying Vietnam and the Vietnam War since I was a kid. My Dad's a Vietnam Veteran, my Mom is the second war bride to come from Vietnam and I have a huge Vietnamese family with uncles that served on both sides of the Vietnam War. All that in mind, I have access to many different perspectives of Vietnam. I'm not just answering questions. I'm also learning a lot in the process, and I love to learn...
Where should I take Ong Jon and his wife to dinner?
Ong Jon is currently in Vietnam, and I’ll be there in a couple days myself. My wife and I have plans to take Ong Jon and his wife out to dinner in either Nha Trang or Ho Chi Minh City. Ong Jon considers Nha Tran his hometown, while my wife and I have never been there. I would like to surprise Ong Jon by selecting an excellent restaurant in Nha Tran to dine at with him and his wife.
I need to know the name of the place, location and why it’s the best place to dine at in Nha Tran.
5 AnswersOther - Vietnam1 decade agoRecommendation for a destination while journeying through South Vietnam?
I’ll be in Vietnam in a couple days and stay for a little more than a month. My wife and I will have our honeymoon while I’m there. The honeymoon will be traveling around South Vietnam for a few weeks eventually ending up in Quang Tri to review a project that I’m involved with and then take a flight to Hanoi. We plan to see at least the following places:
· Vung Tau
· Da Lat
· Nha Trang
· Hoi An
· Da Nang
· Hue
I was wondering if anyone knows an interesting place or places that my wife and I should include in this journey. Keep in mind that my wife is native Vietnamese and I’ve seen enough small villages, pagodas, rivers and rice paddies in Vietnam to fulfill my lifetime quote. I don’t want the typical tour guide answer, but something different and interesting. So put your thinking caps on and help my wife and I add more flavor to our journey through South Vietnam.
6 AnswersOther - Vietnam1 decade agoWhat is the best beer in Vietnam?
My Dad and I are debating which beer is (or was) the best in Vietnam. He is a Vietnam Veteran (1964-1965), and claims that San Miguel was the best when he was there. My travels through Vietnam have found just about every province with their own brew, a few national brands and several imports. I have sampled at least the following brews in Vietnam:
- Bia Hanoi
- Bia Thai Binh
- Bia Hue
- Bia Saigon
- Tiger Beer
- 333
- Heineken
- San Miguel
- Something from a dead cobra
I would like to hear about other Vietnam beer drinking experiences to continue the intellectual conversation with my Dad. My questions are as follows:
1) What kind of beers did you experience in Vietnam?
2) Which one did you like the best and why?
3) Do you prefer bottled or draft (a.k.a. bia hoi)?
4) If you are a Vietnam Veteran, what beers did you drink back then and how do they compare to the Vietnamese beers now?
5) What would someone have to pay you to drink something that was fermented from a dead cobra?
10 AnswersOther - Vietnam1 decade agoWhat do you think about the new Vietnam categories?
Yahoo Answers has expanded Vietnam categories in travel and food to incorporate most all of the major cities there. So far, Vietnam is the only country in the Asia Pacific categories that Yahoo has done this too (sorry China and Japan). Once again, I'm submitting a multi-part question for you to answer:
1) What do you think about the expanded categories under Vietnam?
2) Do you think it is a good or bad thing?
3) Should Yahoo consider other categories under Vietnam (i.e. Travel > Vietnam > Transportation, Travel > Vietnam > Accommodations, etc.)?
4) Where are Phan Thiet, Phu Quoc, Quy Nhon and Tay Nguyen in reference to HCMC, Hanoi or Da Nang? If you've been to any of those cities, please describe the locations (I've never been to them myself).
5) Do you think the Chinese are going to get upset with Yahoo Answers for promoting Vietnam and snubbing China?
5 AnswersOther - Vietnam1 decade agoDid you lose weight in Vietnam?
I lost over 20 lbs in less than three weeks when I traveled to Vietnam in late 2005. I lost 20 lbs again during my trip last year. I attribute my weight loss to difference in the foods I was eating and the lifestyle I was living in Vietnam. I believe I ate more while there, but a gallon of Vietnamese pho has less fat than a McDonald's cheeseburger. The typical house in Vietnam has several flights of stairs, and I could have done 1,000 stair steps a day by just roaming through the house.
I think that I might be onto something here, and I have a multi-part question for you to answer:
1) If you've been to Vietnam, did you lose weight when you were there?
2) How much weight did you lose?
3) What do you think was the reason for the weight loss?
4) Do you think that Vietnam could enter the multi-billion dollar weight loss industry with proper management and marketing?

21 AnswersOther - Vietnam1 decade agoWhere is the best Vietnamese restaurant outside of Vietnam?
I love Vietnamese food and I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who loves Vietnamese food. Let me and the rest of the world know where the best Vietnamese restaurant outside of Vietnam is.
Please elaborate about why your favorite Vietnamese restaurant is the best. Use links from a mapping service (http://maps.yahoo.com/ or http://maps.google.com/) to help everyone locate where the restaurant is at.
Happy Tet everyone!

3 AnswersOther - Vietnam1 decade agoHave you ever driven a motorbike in Vietnam?
My next trip to Vietnam is coming up, and I'm seriously thinking about hopping on a motorbike to get around instead of blowing money on taxis and drivers.
They drive nuts over there, but I think it is actually controlled chaos. I rode with friends on motorbikes, and found that they don't go all that fast, the natives rarely get into accidents and teenage Viet girls manage the traffic there effortlessly. That in mind, I want to tap into the 'secret' of diving in Vietnam.
So tell me if you drove or drive in Vietnam, and what advice can you give to drive like the natives.
Ong Jon - I'm especially looking for a great answer from you...
3 AnswersOther - Vietnam2 decades agoWhat is the name of the monkey and crocodile park near Saigon, Vietnam?
There is a park I went to in Vietnam where there were hundreds of monkeys. You can walk into the park and feed the monkeys. You can also take a boat ride to a Viet Cong jungle base that is setup for tourists.
