I am a stay at home dad....three kids....a dog...and a college degree or two.....
Every time I have to board my dog, upon her return home, she acts strange, has diarrhea and sometimes vomits..?
..is this just a "nerves" thing? I didn't see a connection until this last time...now I can see how she is like this after each stay. We only board her once or twice a year for a few days. She has always come around in the past after a few days...I just finished cleaning up vomit and diarrhea after picking her up yesterday, however..and just concerned.
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoI have to glue the felt gasket that surrounds the lint trap in my gas dryer back into place...?
I am worried that regular glue may get overheated and possibly start a fire. Any suggestions as to what type of glue might be best for such a repair? thanks....
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoMy car would not start when I turned the key. Then I removed the key and it started to turn over...?
and started..but it was still turning over while the engine was running. I turned the engine off..but the starter kept on cranking all the while, draining the battery. I disconnected the battery...now when I reconnect the battery, the car starts turning over, with no key in the ignition. What could be the problem?
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoI am over 40, and grew up in a house with no religion whatsoever...?
..and now that I am a grown adult, I find that I am envious of the comfort and sense of community some people have through their belief systems. My question is, considering my age, do you think it is possible to find a religion that seems good, learn about it..attend services..and actually come to believe? Or, is it pretty much impossible having lived a religion-free lifestyle for over 40 years...
37 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan anyone recommend an excellent parental control "filter" for Internet Explorer?
I have kids getting older..and, frankly, the internet has a great deal of content that scares me.
Thanks!
8 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoThe floor drain in my basement overflows when the washing machine..?
..drains into my utility tub. It is not a huge amount. I snaked the drain and came up empty..then had a professional do it (he said he went 50 feet)...nothing came up. He claimed to "feel" lint and sand being jarred loose. We filled up the tub 3 times and drained it..no overflow. After he left..I ran the washing machine..and it, of course, overflowed slightly. It seems it only overflows when soapy water is draining. Can anyone give me any idea why this is..and what I can do about it? I am already out 175 dollars for nothing....Thanks
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoThere seems to be a great many "re-make" movies nowadays...Is there a lack of story ideas in Hollywood? And..?
..are there some classic movies that are too revered to be touched? If so, which movies would you think would make that list. I am thinking a movie like "Gone With the Wind" would be untouchable....
4 AnswersMovies1 decade agoI rescued a Daschund/Chihuahua mix a year ago...potty trained her right away......?
..so for a year everything has gone pretty well. Now, out of the blue, she is pooping in the house. It is not even a case of her going behind furniture or anything like that..it is right in the middle of the living room with people around. Does anyone have any ideas as to why she would suddenly start doing this?
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoI have been saving up for years..and am finally going to take my family on vacation to Disney World...?
..problem is, I have been diagnosed with situational panic disorder, and although the trip is not for another 3 months, I am already having trouble thinking about the flight down to Florida. I am terrified to fly. I have flown in the past, but this will be the first time for my young children, and I do not know what to do to avoid making them nervous or scared because of my possible panic. I don't want to spend the time leading up to my vacation dreading the flight..then spend my hard-earned vacation dreading the return flight a week later. Any advice?
1 AnswerMental Health1 decade agoWe rescued a dog...and now after six months...?
I find that I despise the dog. My kids love it..but they are off to school every day, and I am at home..just me and the dog. I have made the effort to train the dog properly..and have had mostly success. Most of the problem is she has stopped obeying my commands when it comes to go potty outside. She will just sit where she is and shiver and tremble. I find myself having to hunt her down...get the leash on her, and sometimes almost drag her outside. It leaves me exasperated to say the least. I get the feeling the dog senses my dislike of her.
I have never mistreated her in any way, and never would. I just find myself overwhelmed with feelings of hatred for a simple animal, and cannot figure out why. Finding the dog a new place to live would destroy my kids, so I cannot do that.
Any suggestions as to how I can change my attitude about the dog. Again, it is just her and me at home all day long, and this situation seems to be taking up an inordinate amount of my thoughts.
Could be tied to midwinter cabin fever I guess.
Thanks...

2 AnswersDogs1 decade agoI lost 40 pounds in 6 months through a change in diet and regular exercise..but now..?
Now I have started to work even harder, but the scale has not moved in six weeks...I am still watching what I eat....and I exercise every day..but still no more weight loss. Is it possible that the human body reaches a certain level and says "No more?" It is not like I am super thin..I am six feet tall and started out at 267 lbs. Now I am hovering around 225 lbs. I would like to lose more...any thoughts?
6 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoPart of my oak dining room table has lost its color, mostly where I read the newspaper every day..?
The table is about 12 years old...A Thomasville table..The surface where I sit has developed a rather large "colorless" area from the newspaper.
Can anyone suggest what I should do to get the surface all one color again...and what I can do to prevent this in the future?

3 AnswersTVs1 decade agoI was standing in line at the market, when the guy behind me....?
just started talking, I thought to me. Turned out he has one of those blue tooth things..and he have me a dirty look when I looked at him.
A. Don't you think it is ridiculous to have a private conversation in a crowd?
and
B. Wouldn't you love to rip that thing off his ear and stomp on it...all the while telling him he is not impressing anyone..and that his "high tech" act is nauseating?
9 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoI have mostly recovered from depression/anxiety disorder...?
But now, if I have a "bad" day, like everyone has sometimes...I worry that I am back-sliding..or going to relapse..when all it really is is just one of those days...
Did anyone else recovering from depression/anxiety go through this..and were you eventually able to shrug off the fear of relapse altogether?
Thanks

2 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoI love playing D & D roleplaying video games....?
I have stayed away from online, multi-player versions, however, because I have heard horrifying addiction stories.. like people getting divorced over it, etc.
Does anyone have any experience to share about this.. seems like playing with other "real" people would be like it was in the old days.. with dice and a big table and lots of snacks...
