I plan on renting a car when I travel to Ireland. There are some huge price difference between manual & automatic.?
I know how to drive a manual in the U.S., but being how Ireland is on the opposite side of the road (I don't think that would be a big deal) and the drivers seat is on the other side I am wondring this.....
How difficult is it using your left hand to move the stick shift, and are the pedals the same as the US or different?
Would love to hear from those who drive manuals in the US and then drove one in Ireland.
Thanks so much!
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation4 years agoTraveling to 3 areas in Europe and was wondering if I needed different electrical plug adapters for each places besides a voltage converter?
Traveling to the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Paris and Rome.
I've heard that all should be the same except Italy but wasn't sure.
Your experienced advise would be appreciated. And if you have links to products you've used I'd appreciate that too! I'm traveling from California.
Thanks!
5 AnswersPacking & Preparation4 years agoWhen in Rome what places can you recommend to stay that has A/C & is centrally located near main tourists places.?
Would you recoommend staying at a place near Trevi Fountain & the Spanish Steps. If so, what places?
Or would you recommend staying closer to the Colosseum, and what place (with A/C)?
Thanks all for your help & suggestions! :)
1 AnswerRome4 years agoToll roads in Ireland I've been using Google maps to see driving distances/times between point A & B in Ireland and noticed it lists toll?
roads. I've never driven a toll road (haven't encountered any in California) so not sure what to do, how much it is, do you just toss change into something or what.
If someone can enlighten me I would greatly appreciate it. Have an upcoming trip in late June and would like to be prepared since I will be driving in Ireland.
Thanks so much!
3 AnswersOther - Ireland4 years agoPlanning a trip to Ireland, Italy & Paris and was wondering if the time I've planned is enough for each country. First 3 days are in Dublin?
after Dublin we're flying out to Italy then France.
1) Is 4 full days enough to travel from Rome to Milan for city tours, sight seeing, etc;
2) is 3-1/2 to 4 full days enough for Paris only with possibly 1 day at Disneyland Paris;
3) is 5 full days enough to drive from Cork, Ireland to sightsee and explore Ireland before returning to Dublin?
Places we're thinking of seeing are:
Sistine Chapel, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, Borghese Gallery, Galleria dell'Accademia, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Arc de Triomphe, Moulin Rouge, the Paris Catacombs, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre, Palace of Versailles, wine & champagne tasting in Paris, Disneyland Paris (we hope!), Latin Quarters in Paris, Bunratty Castle, Blarney Castle, Blarney Stone, Cliffs of Moher, Guinness, Jameson Distillary, Ring of Kerry.
Don't know if we'll have time to see all these places or if we should see something else that is a "must-see" destination.
Going in late June through mid-July, 18 days total which includes flight times.
Any suggestions on what to see, what to do would be appreciated. Any any thoughts on the amount of time we plan on spending in each area would be helpful and appreciate!
Thanks everyone!!
6 AnswersOther - Destinations4 years agoCan cohabitation be part-time if the part-timer stays the night 3 to 4 times a week (sometimes longer).?
They keep clothes at the house, in the closet, drawers, toothbrush, sleeps in the same bed as the other person, says they do everything "like a family" has their own parking spot in the driveway, has keys to the house and comes and goes as they please, plus helps pay for groceries. And they function like a married couple.
Just wondering what others think.
Thanks!

8 AnswersHome Theater7 years agoWhat is the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz on a television other than the price?
Was thinking of getting a flat screen for my brother and saw there was a price difference between 60Hz and 120Hz but not sure what the "Hz" is all about.
Thanks!
1 AnswerTVs7 years agoIs it better to purchase my multi-city airline ticket together or 2 separate 1-way tickets?
Airfare from STS to SAN that I'm looking at is $58.90 one-way 01/08/14, unfortunately there are no good return flight times so I looked at flying from LAX to STS on the return at $124.90 one-way 01/12/14. Would it be better just to buy the one-way to SAN at this good price and wait a few days to see if the return trip out of LAX is cheaper?
Thanks!
2 AnswersAir Travel7 years agoHow long will it take a frozen 10 to 12 lb turkey to thaw in the refrigerator?
I'm thinking of picking up a 10 to 12 lb frozen turkey tonight (well if I can find one that small) and was curious as to how long it would take to defrost just sitting in the refrigerator unopen? Will it be thawed in time to cook Thanksgiving morning?
Thanks!

2 AnswersInsurance8 years agoWhat is the proper way to stop filing taxes?
My mother has been filing her taxes through Turbo Tax for years. She now wants to stop filing because she is a senior citizen on social security and doesn't pay taxes as sher SS is minimal. I'm sure there is some sort of proper way of going about it but she doesn't want to spend money on talking to a tax preparer. She said my aunt just stopped once she retired because she is in the same situation as my mom (on SS, no income other than that).
Any tax preparers or IRS agents out there that can advise on this? Also it would appy to filing state tax as well (California).
Thanks everyone for your guidance and advise!!
