  • I am having difficulty with the gauges in my 2005 Rendezvous. The closest dealer is over 100 miles away. Any ideas where to start looking?

The problem started with the gas gauge going goofy. It went way past full or way under empty. Then the tach bounced around everywhere and finally the speedometer bounces everywhere as well. It reads from 40-100 mph when it is sitting still. I paid a mechanic and he told me the problem was probably a circuit panel for the instrument cluster. He said it was extremely expensive (if I could find it.) I have tried to google Instrument gauges circuit board but have gotten no results. So car people...any ideas?

  • Has anyone been involved in the Swinger Lifestyle? Do you know anyone who swings?

We are toying with the notion of trying the lifestyle. It seems that this would either really enhance our sex lives or it would blow up in our face. We would really like to hear from those who have experience...both good and bad. Please...no smart *** answers or made up answers. Thanks.

  • Any vet techs online?

Last week I found a stray Ferrell kitten in my yard that had been injured in what I assumed to be a territorial skirmish. I estimate the age at around 5 months. It's wounds were infected and it was very ill and we thought it was close to death. We took it in and washed its wounds and put tribiotics on the wounds. We drained a lot of puss from the wounds over the next five days. We thought we were making great progress until tonight. Yesterday it developed a fever and seems to be forming a massive fluid pocket on the forehead. My problems now are as follows: 1. Vets offices are closed till Monday. (Previous posts all said take him to the vet. The vets are closed until Monday in my area. I cannot pay for an emergency visit if I found a vet that would come in, nor do I have the money to drive 4 hours to a vet office that is open on Saturday.) 2. I am unemployed and do not have any money to take this stray to the vet or buy antibiotics. So....A: Is it best to drain this pocket of unknown ooze, (Puss, Blood, etc.) or leave it alone; B: Can I give the cat some of my own antibiotics, (Cipro, Doxy, etc) on a smaller dosage? I was raised on a farm and have given over 10,000 vaccinations...YES 10,000. I'm not totally ignorant...I am just not sure as to the answers to the questions about cats that I have asked.

AGAIN, PLEASE REMEMBER I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO SPARE. It is not that I do not want to do it; it is simply I don't have any money as I have been unemployed since March.

PLEASE: If you are going to put trash on here just so you can get your 2 points just write a one word post.

  • Why doesn't my computer accept the product code from my original OEM XP disc or the Authentic MS sticker?

I had to do a total reformat of the HD of my fathers computer. I reloaded XP and entered the codes on the side of the Dell computer. They were not accepted. I entered the product codes from the OEM XP disc itself. Again the product key was not accepted. The unit was not connected to the web. The restore disc was not included by the authorized seller and I could not hack the administrator password installed by the reseller. System Restore did nothing. I had no choice but to totally reformat and re-install Windows. Now the system will not accept 2 legitimate codes. What's up with this? What can I do now? This computer came with legitimate software. Why can't I reload?

  • Windows XP Recovery. I deleted a net gear file I no longer use and now the computer doesn't boot.?

I tried system restore but it will only take me back to the point I deleted the Wireless USB adapter file. After I do the restore to that point, the systems boots but will fail to reboot the next time I try to use it. The computer (Dell GX240 Desktop) came refurbished from a reseller who claims not to have the recovery disc. It bears Microsoft Stickers for 2000 Pro and XP Pro Refurbished. What do you suggest?

I attempted to reload XP from my copy I purchased for another PC. The PC did not allow it claiming it had already been installed on another computer. Any way to get around this? It is my computer and my software.

  • Battery connections for 49 Chevy?

I have been told that I need to connect the negative battery cable to the positive battery terminal in my 49 Chevy 2 ton truck. Likewise I should connect the positive cable to the negative post on the battery. The size of the cable connectors seems to prove this. But this makes no sense to me. I called several auto parts stores and could not get a solid answer. Does anyone know what is up with this.

  • I have to replace the in-line fuel pump on my '97 GMC every 2 1/2 years.?

It is not only expensive...but extremely frustrating. Can you / and then does it make sense to replace the in-tank pump with an external pump that fits on the chassis that would be much easier to replace? Has anyone done this? What are the pros and cons?

  • If I add someone to the deed on my home, will it cause a negative reaction like property tax increase?

My concern is that this could trigger property tax re-evaluations and my taxes would get boosted. The home is in So-UT/No-AZ. Are there other pitfalls to this?

  • I can smell gas after I turn off the oven (and occasionally the burner) of gas freestand range. Any tips?

I think that this indicates a valve or something is not turning off but I can't seem to find it. This is a random occurance and does not happen every time. I have sprayed with a dishsoap/water solution but have not found any bubbles in where I have sprayed so far. Unemployed and money is tight so please don't tell me to call a repair shop. If I could have...I would have.

  • 97 GMC 4WD light has gone out. Cant tell for sure if front axel is engaging. Can I still drive the truck?

Yesterday I tried to engage 4WD in sand. Indicator light on the floor did not show the axel was engaged. I don't think the front axel was engaging but I couldn't tell for sure. Emergency requires me to drive 2000 miles and pull a trailer. Is this safe. I don't really have much choice but I am wondering if this is a problem.

  • How do you change the hard drive on a Dell GX-280?

This drive is located on the lid of the desktop. I see two green tabs that I have pushed but something is still holding the drive in the caddy. Yes, cables have been disconnected.

  • Hard Drives: Can you take a hard drive from an old computer and put in a case and make it an external drive?

Can you then connect it via USB? I have searched a couple of sites like Tiger Direct and EBC Computers and have not found anything that lets you use your own existing hard drive. Seems they all want to sell you a new External Hard Drive complete with the HD.

  • Have Vietnam, Afghanistan, & Irag have proven that even an invading superpower cannot defeat a guerilla force?

I think it has. The American and Soviet forces have gotten their asses kicked by the guerillas. Not because of the soldiers. They have done their jobs with honor, no blame or disrespect to them.

The real question is; Because it is so hard for a superpower to overcome a native people in their own country who fights with guerilla tactics, is it possible that we would be better served by strengthening our own borders, helping our own people with significant jobs and healthcare, strenthening our own economy rather than spending our resources around the rest of the world who doesn't want us around anyway?

Isn't it time to strengthen our country again instead of worrying about whether Halliburton and Big Oil can control the worlds oil supply and make M$?

What foreign power could overcome a nation whose citizens are armed and can shoot, who invented guerilla tactics during its Revolution and who is economically solid again for all Americans not just Corp America?
