  • I have fibromyalgia. When do I stop blaming all the symptoms on fibro and start wondering if I'm really sick?

I was diagnosed last year with fibromyalgia... problem is that fibromyalgia has a list of symptoms that is longer than my arm... pretty much everything is a symptom of FMS. So, at what point can I start wondering if I might have come down with the flu or something?

  • Is it safe to put my three legged ADF back in my ten gallon tank with others? ?

About three months ago, my little African Dwarf frog lost one of his back legs. I put him in a smaller tank with a lower water level so he wouldn't have to swim as far to get air. Now the stump has healed fairly well, (no more redness or swelling) and the entire time he's been fairly active and eating well. Now, my ten gallon has two other ADFs, both bigger than my three legged one, a mating pair of Mickey Mouse platy, and two loaches in it. Plus there's the much higher water level, but again, he's pretty active and swimming doesn't seem to be a problem for him. My biggest concern is his tankmates. Would he be safe in the big kids tank, or is he gonna always be stuck alone?

  • Mickey Mouse Platy fry (babies) feeding schedule?

I just got a couple Mickey Mouse platys for company for my African Dwarf Frogs... (also a couple Loaches)... I got them on Tuesday and did the first major tank cleaning today and noticed (toward the end) little yellow baby fish swimming at the edges of the tank. I managed to save ten of them from the gravel vac. I now have them in a 5 cup rubbermaid container that I used to use to put the ADFs in while I was cleaning the tank. I have used my coffee grinder (well cleaned) to grind up a mixture of betta food, algae tablets, frog and tadpole bits, and Tetra Min Plus shrimp flakes. It is a very fine powder. I'm hoping it has all the nutrients they need to grow. But from what I've read, they need to be fed "several times a day". How many times a day is several? Approximately how many times a day should I feed my new babies?

  • still exercising, still not eating much, but no more weight loss?

I've been working for the past 5 and a half months on losing weight, and I'm still not eating as much and I'm still exercising, but my weight loss seems to have stopped altogether. Now my weight is fluctuating between about 198 lbs. and 191 lbs., (the higher number still puts me at obese, and I don't hit that number as often as I think I do, and the lower number puts me at overweight still). Now, by exercise, I mean walking, as I can't really run due to past injury of my lungs, but I am walking anywhere between two and a half and 5 miles, and I'm doing this 3 to 5 days a week. And I tend to eat maybe once a day... and some days not even that... Why am I not losing anything else?

  • What is the best way to ask my neighbors not to burn wood?

This is a complicated situation. My neighbors seem to have a penchant for burning hickory when they barbecue. Normally, this would not be a problem, but I was in a fire a couple years ago, and every time that smell comes in my house... and it always does... it sends me into a panic looking to find out what is burning in my house. I know, it's ridiculous, but there's not much I can do about it at my end. I can't afford to air condition my house, so that's out of the question. I have to have my windows open, and I simply can't deal with it. Is there a polite way to ask them to either limit the hickory thing or cease altogether?

  • Is it possible to protect your children from religion?

I'm so disappointed with myself... I've tried so hard to raise open-minded children... and just this morning my 6 year old comes up to me and starts spouting off religious crap. It makes me want to cry thinking my children have to start off with this bias... my daughter believes in creationism... and she's 9... it's so sad... I know it's nothing I've taught him... but there are so many "well meaning" christians out there that think that I'm in the wrong for not teaching my children THEIR beliefs... why can't they just leave well enough alone? My children didn't ask about god when they were 3... they didn't ask when they were 4... but then people just had to open their mouths and try to convert my kids against my will... it's sad... really...

  • My cat won't let her month old kittens wean... is there anything I can do?

I've been trying to start weaning my cat's month old kittens, but she won't allow them near the food. Instead, she sticks her greedy face in there and growls at them. What should I do?

  • What size bolt am I looking for? Lower control arm 1991 Ford Thunderbird?

About 2 months ago, I had a ball joint go out on the passenger side of my Thunderchicken. When my mechanic went to replace the lower control arm assembly (because the ball joint is pressed and almost impossible to remove without taking out the entire assembly) one of the bolts was broken. He replaced it with another bolt... and yesterday that bolt snapped while I was driving. What kind of bolt am I looking for to replace it?

  • What's wrong with my 1991 Ford Thunderbird?

I have a 1991 Thunderbird. It's acting weird... most of these problems started recently... It's sometimes slow to turn over, it pulls a little bit to the right, especially when braking, and I'm having trouble getting enough power to go up steep hills... it's an autotranny V6 fuel injected.

  • Is it possible that perhaps both the Christians and evolutionists are right?

    Keep in mind, I'm agnostic...

Now, that being said... Is it possible that the creation story and the theory of big bang/evolution could both be true? Consider this... the bible says that the christian god created everything in 6 days... however, the bible also says that the entire span of a man's life is but a blink of the eye to said god. A person blinks in less than a second... so... if the entire 70-80 year span of a human life... or even the 20-30 year lifespan of the time... is less than a second to said god, how long is a day to that god? Would it not be hundreds thousands of years? I haven't done the math... but it does make sense. Now I'm not saying that the creationist point of view is right... far be it... I prefer the big bang/evolutionist theory myself... and I like this argument because it makes Christians think. I'm working on the math now... will have it in a moment...

  • A question for religious and non religious people....?

Why can't you all just admit that you don't know? That would be the most honest answer any of you can give on the question of religion and whether there is a god.... you don't know... I know... how agnostic of me. But really, none of us knows what goes on after death... having never been there before. If you're religious and wrong, then after your death.... nothing happens... and if you're non religious and wrong... you go to hell... but you at least go to hell for a good reason... you stood by your beliefs....

Sorry if this seems like a rant... I would just like to see more people admit that maybe... just maybe... they don't know what's going on.

  • Question for Xtians and anyone who feels like playing along...?

Let's take a look at the bible. One of the most well known stories in the bible is the Tower of Babel. Remember? The one where they were trying to build a tower that lead to heaven and god got all mad and made it so that everyone suddenly spoke a different language and all that? Anyhow... at the point when god made everyone speak a different language, who's to say that wasn't the point where all religions got their start as well... with a few exceptions... satanism... Anton Levay and Alister Crowley started that way later.... Gardnerian wicca... Alex Gardner there... however... old time witchcraft is a bit different... anyhow... back to the point. If all these people suddenly couldn't speak to each other anymore, and each of them had a little piece of religion... then how can you honestly say that yours is the only true way? I'm sorry, but I think that going off that little bible story, the true religion may be... well... lost in translation.

  • Why is it I get sick when flying, even when it's a short flight?

I get sick for days after airplane flights, even for short flights... but it's not like motion sickness... the symptoms are closer to jet lag, but hit me even if I don't cross any time zones. So if it's not jet lag, then what makes me so sick? Also, my ears don't seem to pop for long periods of time during and after a flight.

  • Cat has gone from mooch to thief... what do I do?

Okay... all my cats like to mooch when there's food around... and that's fine... I can deal with that... but I have one... he actually tries to steal food off plates while ppl are still eating! He just doesn't seem to get the message that if he's gonna try and steal food, he's not gonna get any... how do I make him stop? Like I said, I don't mind the mooching, but the attempted theft is driving me nuts.

  • Can I teach an old dog new tricks?

I have a chow/australian shepard mix who has a rather bad habit. She's going on 6 yrs old, and her old owner told me when I got her that she had a bad habit of chasing cats... which in and of itself is not a bad thing, but the cats can get hurt if she catches them. I have four cats, and I'm trying to teach her to leave them alone. For the most part, she'll leave the antisocial one alone... if she's supervised. But we'd like to be able to give her free roam of the house without having to lock up the cats. So, can I teach my old dog NOT to go after the cats?
