I have a cleaning company in Canada and have hired someone with their own unregistered (but legit) cleaning company as a subcontractor.?
How do I get credit on my taxes for what I paid her to clean for my client? (BTW, she has other clients that are not ours)
1 AnswerSmall Business6 years ago$100,000.00 reward-IMPORTANT,If you live in Indianapolis and you know a John Shelton, please read...?
Indianapolis, IN -- The Dattilo family has new information about missing college student Molly Dattilo. Molly, a student at IUPUI and Eastern Kentucky
University has been missing since the evening of Tuesday, July 6, 2004.
As previously announced, Molly placed her last phone call around
11:00 PM from a pay phone at a Thornton’s gas station on Crawfordsville
Road in Indianapolis. At this time, she was with John E. Shelton, the
last person known to have seen her.
Recently, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reassigned Molly’s case from its Missing Persons Unit to its Homicide Unit. It is believed that a significant factor in the decision to reassign the case was information provided to IMPD by John E. Shelton. Shelton has been or is presently considered a person of interest in the investigation. A number of sources have confirmed that Shelton told IMPD that he has substantial information concerning the disappearance of Molly Dattilo. Shelton, who is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges, has offered the information about Dattilo in exchange for a plea bargain.
The Dattilo Family applauds the decision of IMPD to step up its investigation of Molly's disappearance and once again asks that anyone with useful information please come forward immediately.
For more information please contact Ben Dattilo 260-450-7322 or Keri Dattilo 310-993-0325
$100,000 reward still in effect

2 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoUS Form 1116, Foreign Tax Credit. Foreign Rental, Do not itemize, what line do I list mortgage interest...?
I rent out a house that is on my property in Canada. I have how much we have collected in rent and I want to exclude the mortgage interest, insurance, water bills, and some expenses to calculate my income from the rental, but I am not itemizing my deductions on the US 1040, I am taking a standard deduction, and it seems that form 1116 is forcing me to itemize. All I want to do is take away what I have paid in mortgage interest and insurance to come up with a correct total. I don't know which line would work best for me.

4 AnswersMovies1 decade agoHow do you field aggravating, unsolicited advice on how to raise your children?
With strangers and casual acquaintances we just politely shrug it off. But my sister (who lives so far away that she has never even met our daughter) feels compelled to remind us to read to her every day and run through her ABC's (which we happen to be very diligent in doing). What makes it even more maddening is that my wife and I have both completed college degrees (so yes, we know all about education and are setting a good example) while my sister and her husband have only completed a few semesters of school. I don't want to hurt her feelings, but she is a little dura, if you know what I mean. I just want to communicate to her that we love our baby more than ourselves and we are doing everything we can to raise her well and her advice and presumption is getting downright aggravating!
Thanks!
6 AnswersFamily1 decade agoSiding damage by strong wind, snow storm in American Northwest. Insurance company denied claim,?
saying siding job, when it was originally done (before we bought the house) was shoddy workmanship. Many houses were damaged in this storm, and I noticed that the streetlight two intersections away from our house had a bent pole (the pole that comes from the ground pole that the light is attached to. Do we have any grounds for rebuttal? What is the legal definition of "shoddy workmanship"? Does the fact that there were (admittedly from the insurance adjuster) "many claims" after this storm point to the fact that the wind velocity was extraordinary and that "shoddy workmanship" was not a factor in the damage? By the way, the siding was ripped off only one side of our house. Please no venting, just give us a good balanced view. Thanks!

3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade ago1996 Dodge Stratus was driving on expressway and car slowed down and engine died...?
could not restart car until about five minutes later, then was able to drive about a mile and the car stalled again while driving. Was not able to keep car running for more than a second and usually would not start. All lights, fan, etc. working normally. I had the car towed to a mechanic. Once it ran for an hour without interruption. The second time they tried it ran for a half hour and then died and they could not restart it. They tried a new ignition/coil assembly (the square assembly the spark plug wire hook into). This failed. They told me they had come to the conclusion that it was most likely the computer, and they told me they called the Dodge dealership and it turns out that computer is no longer available, but if the old computer was sent to Dodge headquarters they could make a computer, and the Dodge parts associate told them they "didn't want to know" how much that would cost. HELP! any suggestions or has anyone had a similar experience and successfully repaired

3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoI witnessed an accident involving an automobile and a bicyclist?
I gave the police my number and now the auto insurance company is asking for a statement from me. I believe it is the insurance company of the motorist because, of course, the bicyclist was not driving. I am suspicious. Why would the insurance company want a statement from me? Are they trying to exonerate their client, determine the insureability of their client, or just find out the truth, or are they trying to screw the bicyclist of a claim (assuming the bicyclist made a claim, which I doubt she did). So: Common Practice or sneaky practice? I really want to know, so I am not opening a forum for ranting and raving against insurance companies:)
6 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 decade agoI do not live in the United States but do E-bay on an American Account. Do I have to claim a state?
I am residing in a foreign country and do e-bay there. I am not allowed to work in that country so I have a US account. I am not a US resident but intend to file US taxes for my American e-bay account. Since I am not a US resident, I do not live in any state. So am I exempt from state taxes for my business? Conversely, if I do have to pick a state, does that mean I qualify for resident benefits from that state, such as WIC and being able to claim my daughter is a resident of that state, although we are not US residents? If I have to pick a state, I want state benefits.
2 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoDoes anyone know anything about the income tax treaty between Canada and US? Details Please?
American living in Canada and I would like to know whether I should file jointly with my Canadian wife, who is a nonresident alien of US, or file separately. I read that once I elect not to file US taxes jointly with my non-resident alien wife, I cannot file jointly ever again. However, if I file jointly, I cannot claim US/ Canada tax treaty benefits. I work in US and she works in Canada, and in addition we both have our own businesses. I would like to know the benefits of the US/ Canada tax treaty and what we would be missing out on if we filed jointly, and also things we may have to pay twice if we do file jointly. In addition, I have a 401K and recieve dividends from stocks and bonds. I am trying to decide if I should file the W-9 or the W-8BEN. Obviously this is not a question for novices.
