  • Why do YOU think the "new" Yahoo Mail is better than the classic one?

Personally, I do NOT like the new mail, because it no longer recognizes my mouse device's BACK button (which means I get the login page instead of the 'previous' page), and it often doesn't allow me to delete drafts because the draft is supposedly still being edited. I also don't like the 'session expired' popup that doesn't allow me to do anything other than closing the tab that it's displayed in (or login, but I've usually already logged out).

All in all, I've not found a single improvement. I know you can get glowing reviews in computer magazines if you bribe the author of the review, but before I draw the conclusion that that is what Yahoo did, I'd like to know if any of you like the "new" mail better, and why.

  • Who thinks black guys nowadays make boring music?

Music of relatively young artists is instantly recognizable, and I don't mean this in a good way. (Are there Jay-Z songs where he does NOT do 'Uh-huh?')

It's so annoying and boring --does anyone agree?

  • Who made it a trend to use the artist's name in the artist's song?

In Beautful Liar, both Beyonce and Shakira's name appear in the song itself, and many artists do this nowadays. Why? And who started it?

  • Flexibility in religion?

Does a thorough knowledge of religion make one more flexible or rigid with respect to that religion? Or doesn't it matter?

(I've noticed that graduate students in Theology are often a lot more flexible than people who were 'only' raised as religious people.)

  • Does beauty become less important with age?

Recently I noticed that I'm not into looks as I used to be. I've never really judged a book by its cover, but recently, whenever I see a beautiful celeb, I immediately put that beauty in perspective. "Imagine the huge amount of make up she has on -- or how much of her as been Photoshopped."

Is my testosterone level decreasing? :-)

  • Why is Microsoft popular?

I recently started programming against the Oracle database, and I noticed how bad the books / documentation in general is. I'm used to Microsoft, and that company generally offers the better books (although .NET is poorly documented as well).

Could this be the reason why MS is popular?

  • Are search warrants not always necessary?

I was watching an episode from the first season of Criminal Minds earlier this week. In it, a girl was abducted by some pedophile. The BAU team had a strong hunch who the abductor was, and they raided his house without a search warrant, in an attempt to save the girl.

When they didn't find her in the house right away, one of the BAU members said something along the lines of "If we don't find her here, everything else we find [tapes with child pornography had already been found at this time] will be fruit of a poisoned tree, and we'll have to let him go."

Since there were no exigent circumstances other than the theory that child molesters typically kill their victims within 24 hours after the abduction (and this took place close to that 24 hour limit), wouldn't this be an illegal search even if they DID find the girl?
