  • How long does it take for THC to flush out of the body?

My son was arrested about 43 days ago for possession of paraphenalia. He admits to having used a substantial amount of marijuana prior to that time. Since then he has been going to narcotics anonymous and Swears that he has been clean since the day he was arrested. I have been drug testing him at home once a week since that time and he is still showing positive for THC. I worry that he is not telling me the truth and that he still is using, but he swears repeatedly that he has not used. Could the test still be showing positive if he used a lot? Or is he lying to me?

2 weeks ago we thought we blew the motor in our 2000 chevy blazer. It has been in the shop and we picked it up today with a new motor. Drove it home (approx. 20 miles) and as we pull into the driveway, sounds as if the NEW motor has blown! What can be causing this? all the fluids, temp, etc seems fine.

  • Should I give my daughter and her fiance a honeymoon?

My daughter and her fiance are planning a May wedding. My future son-in-law's mother has complained about every wedding plan we have made since the proposal. My future son-in-law and his family have made it clear that they are strapped for money and can help very little, but still they complain endlessly. I want to give my daughter and her fiance a 3 night stay in Florida just following the wedding as a gift, but am afraid that I may be over-stepping my bounds. I want my daughter to enjoy her wedding and the days following.. and I feel she deserves the honeymoon. Any thoughts or ideas on whether or not this is appropriate of me to do so? I know my daughter and future son-in-law will be thrilled. It is the future son-in-law's family causing more problems is what my concern is.

  • can a father lie about where the kids live in court?

I live out of state and there is a court case that is pending in a few days on my child support case. My ex tried to talk my child into living with him instead of myself (he is a teenager) so that I would have to pay child support instead of him. My teenager was not willing to move in with him, so is staying with me still. However, I believe my ex-husband may have lied and stated that my child lives with him (he lives in the state the case was filed) so that I will have to start paying support to him and his new wife even though my child really lives with me. Can they do this? I will not be in court as it is way too far away to drive to.

  • Should my son's date for proms parents informed us how expensive the meal would be?

My son was asked by a girl he recently met to attend her prom. I just had to run a large sum of money to him because the parents of the girl made reservations for them at a very expensive restaurant before the prom tonight. ($60 Plus per plate). Should his parents have informed us of the cost of this restaurant before making these reservations? I am still unsure if he is going to have enough cash to pay for both his and the girl's meal. Should he pay for the girl's meal as well? I have two older daughters and would never have had the nerve to have done that without paying for my child's meal AND contacted the boy's parents and informing them of the high cost of the restaurant. I am a single parent in a blue collar job. I already have $245 out in Tux rental, prom tickets, pictures, etc.

  • Does the Grooms Mother have any say on where the wedding is held?

My daughter and her fiance are planning to be married next year. My daughter wants married in our church (we are catholic and attend mass regularly). Her Fiance has not even attended church in several years, however his mother attends church in a Baptist church. As of yet, the Groom's family has not offered to pay one cent toward this wedding, nor have they even contacted myself or my daughter to say that they want involved in the planning. To this date, his family hasn't even called to discuss one thing with me, which I feel is Their place (as I don't want them to think that we are expecting them to pay). The Groom's mother has now made it clear that she does not want her son to marry in our church. And she is being quite dramatic about the entire thing. My question is; Does she even really have a say in any of this? My daughter does NOT want a wedding performed by two ministers, so that is not an option for us. The Groom is willing to be married in our church, but of course, wants his mother's approval. Any advice on wedding "etiquette" would definitely be helpful. THANKS!

  • Should I accept my daughter's boyfriend?

My college-aged daughter's boyfriend has been rude and belligerent to me on 2 out of the 3 times I have met him. He has admitted to me that he has had "issues' with his own parents and so he felt as though he had to make the same points with me as he did with them. My daughter may have also over-exaggerated a disagreement that her and I had earlier this semester, and he was acting out on the assumption that her and I did not get along as well as we do. My daughter wants me to like and accept him, but I find this very hard to do considering how rudely he has been. I feel that if he can treat me that badly, he has to be treating my daughter even worse than that (or at least have the potential to be controlling and mean). She denies that he is treating her badly, but I do not know that because she goes to school several hours away. I also feel as though telling her that I accept him when I really do not is not right because it is lying and not being truthful to her.

  • Where can parents find Driver's education information to help children?

I have a big problem. We have tried and tried to help my daughter learn to drive (she is 22, so I cannot forbid her from driving). I want her safe, not just able to pass the state test (which i am pretty sure she could pass). To me, her driving skills are horrible. Her driver's instructor says she does well.. I don't agree. I have been in the vehicle many hours with her. THe driver's instructor only a few hours. Does anyone know where a relative can find a guide on how to HELP someone learn to drive. Teaching driving is not as easy as it my seem. The last thing I would want to happen is her to get the license and hurt or kill herself or someone else. ANY Help would be appreciated! THANKS
