A friend of mine has been battling her ex on child support for months. They finally reached an agreement and the divorce has been final for about 6 months. He decided to switch jobs back to a former employer in order to earn more money, however his base pay will be lower..this is a completely voluntary job change..in which he feels he will be able to con her out of child support. He will actually be earning more money-in the form of quarterly bonuses but he thinks he can outsmart the system. Because he worked at this job during their marriage she knows exactly how his pay works and there is no way he would've left his other job for this one unless he knew he would make more. My main question is, can he change the child support just because he voluntarily changed jobs? He was not fired or laid off. He told her he is going to the courthouse Monday to get it changed.

Basically trying to help out, my husband became the "trustee" for my fathers business when he passed away last year. His business is basically residual income from a health care company. My mother couldnt deal with ANYTHING when he died, so my husbands name was put on the paperwork and formed a sole LLC. now it comes time to pay taxes etc. and we are confused what to do. there are not really many business expenses or much day to day business to do, the paycheck basically comes into a business account held in my husbands name/ busines every month, and most of it takes care of my moms bills and the rest stays put. We already filed our personal taxes for 2013, and thought this would be seperate totally, but now im getting around to taking care of it, and its saying it should be part of our taxes. I dont want it to count as money WE earned since we really have nothing to do with it, exept taking care of paperwork. How does this have to be filed?

My family is travelling to westchester after christmas for about a week. Not interested in being in the NYC for new years eve, but thinnking of visiting some museums touristy stuff later in the week. Can anyone tell me what its generally like after new years? Im aware millions of people gather for the times square stuff, but kind of hoping it will empty out the days following. We will probably drive into the city.

My Friends husband has left her and their 3 children-and moved in with a friend. She is completely devastated but he has made it pretty clear he doesn't want to be with her. Now, he realizes it will be expensive to divorce, so he is refusing to file papers and get it over with on his end. In the mean time, money is still in limbo- he has been gone about a month.-she is lving in the house with the kids and he is paying everything like normal, although she is worried he could just cut her off at any time (she has a 6 month old baby, she baby sits for money, and takes care of their other two elementary age kids). he makes a decent amount of money (about 90K). Because of religious reasons, she doesn't believe in divorcing, but wants to protect herself and the children financially. She has only a very small income of her own babysitting, he has been the provider for 15 years. I read up on getting a separation agreement in the state of florida that only has to do with custody, child support and alimony. Does anyone have any info on this, as it seems like all people say is "get a divorce" but he doesn't want to do that, shes kind of stuck. I know florida doesn't have a legal separation, but they do indeed recognize child support and alimony issues in the case of no divorce. please don't comment if you don't have anything beneficial to add. Any info like experience, costs associated, time etc would be helpful.

We are bad parents;( we misplaced our kids social security cards at some point after opening them bank accounts a few years ago. We've not actually needed the real cards since, but I am on a mission to get them replaced before my oldest needs to get his drivers license next fall. The ssa site is a little vague on what docs they will accept for kids, I have their birth certs, but not really anything else like doctors records or school IDs .. Would report cards work? They have their names and I think DOB . I hate to go all the way over there..it's about a 25 min drive, for them to turn me around. Just wondering if anyone else has had to do this recently.

My father died in January of this year, my mother is unable to take care of their finances. They were basically left without assets at his time of death-medical costs etc ate up everything they had. They don't own their home etc. My mother recieves social security based off my dads earnings. That is her only income. I keep receiving Irs notices saying my dad owes over 18,000 in taxes from 2007. Which is totally impossible because hes been ill for several years and he has certainly not earned enough to owe that much in tax for many years. I decided I would call and let them know he passed away-so maybe they would give me more information on what to do- I.e. would my mother be responsible for this debt? Would they leave her alone since she makes little to begin with? The agent on the phone sounded skeptica when I said he died with no money or assets ( surely this must happen a lot?) . She didn't ask me to send in any documents just that she would notate his account...sounded strange to me, I expected more official instructions I guess. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Similar?

Recently got a kindle fire and I'm noticing about once a day I have to unplug the router and restart to get kindle to reconnect. I believe it's maybe a conflict issue-I've got a wireless laptop, wird desktop, two smartphones,a.slingbox, wii, and the kindle..not all are in use at the same time but have issues from time to time with each of them connecting, the kindle and my phones seem to have the most trouble. Is it possible to assign each it's own local ip address ? The router is a dlink dir_615. I've looked in t the admin settings and I can't figure out out on my own.

I filed and was accepted on the 2nd of Feb. Ive been checking the wmr since the 6th to see any update, and its always said "you may not have entered your information correctly, please verify and try again". Has anyone else had this problem? Im not expecting it to be deposited yet, but i would like to see some progress.

Just wondering if its my tv or the cable box. I went and picked up an hd dvr from my cable company, and when i went to hook it up, i realized my older rear projection philips hdtv doesnt have an hdmi input, its only got component hdtv, so i happen to have the rgb cord-hook it from the hd reciever to the tv, and boot the box..its comes on, then poof, goes scrambled. the only channels that are coming in are the hd stations. the standard def channels are scrambled...any suggestions as to why? Im trrying not to have the cable company come out and tell me its my tv..they charge like 30 dollars if its not their fault.

i found this great site online with great glasses, and my poor husband needs new ones badly. I just cant afford a few hundred right now for glasses from one of these rip off stores-so i found this online site that most people seem pleased with. the only problem is, he needs a new perscription so i can get them. does anyone know if its 39 for an exam even if you dont buy the glasses from the store?

I filed the "old fashioned" way, d/d through turbo tax, no fees taken from my refund. Was accepted by irs on the 20th. Wmr says now, and has always said, your refund is processing and you should receive it by feb 2nd, unless mistakes etc.. this message has never changed to an exact date, and im wondering if any have had this message also never change even when they got their refund on friday..its now monday the first and my bank still has nothing pending-i would think they wouldve atleast been notified of the deposit by now at the bank even if it wont go through until tomorrow..when i called the irs automated line it says the same thing as online. Just wondering if anyone else also never had the message change. If anyone has heard anything different when calling the IRS that also would be helpful. SPAMMERS dont bother posting youre stupid canned answers that nobody cares about. only actually helpful answers please. Im not an idiot, just really need my money like everyone else, and talking about it seems to help!

I filed my taxes and my return was accepted on the 20th, within the quidelines for recieving my refund DD on janu 29th. When i checked with the IRS refund locator this morning it says to expect my refund on the 2nd of feb. I thought Fridays were the DD days, but wondering if this is just a little "padding" for them to sat the 2nd instead of the 29th? thanks for your help.

I have a magnavox converter box, and i lost the remote control, the box is the model they sell at WM. I have about 10 other remotes that are magnavox brand,but they wont even "learn" the code gfor it. I read somewhere that the rca directv rc64 is a great universal remote, but im not sure how to go about programming it for the converter box, for instance, what imput would i choose. Im asking because i have that one on hand. also, i know most of the programming manuals ask that the device be powered on first to try the codes, and this box doesnt have ANY buttons on the unit itself besides a standby/on and off-so i can only turn it onto standby and you need a remote to turn it "on". does this matter?

I recently told the cable company to F-off, but now i am left with a less than stellar public wifi signal coming from the next town over. I can only get online sitting in one room of the house, and the signal is weak. Im looking for any advice for a wifi remote signal booster/antenna deal, what to buy- an outdoor antenna/remote wifi antenna to attach to my computer itself? I would like ideally to be able to connect all our computers to the internet once again. Just wondering if anyone can explain this in retard-speak for someone like myself who gets confused easily. Pointing me to the correct websites would also be appreciated, i dont want to go grovelling back to that vile cable company!
