  • Trying to re-install Google Play apps to new phone?

I had a warranty replacement of my phone, same exact model. It seems I have to reinstall all my apps. I can pull up a list of them on the Google Play store, but each one tells me it's already installed, and won't let me install it. What do I do?

    Thanks!

  • Using an NAS Hard Drive in standard desktop tower?

I picked up a new in box 3TB NAS Hard Drive at a great price. My concern is that I don't know if I should try it in my desktop, or if I am better off selling it at a profit and buying something more suitable.

Speed is not really a concern, since I would not be using it as a Primary drive, but just for backup of my C: drive, as well as backups of music/video.

    Thanks!

  • Can someone recommend a good tour of NYC?

We have relatives coming in from out of the country, and they want to go to NYC. Since the thought of driving in NYC scares the jeepers out of me (I hate driving in Philly), we are looking at a bus trip, and need some recommendations.

The ideal tour would be not so short that you view everything from the bus, and not so long that we have to be in NYC by 8:00am. Key points would be Statue of Liberty, WTC, ESB,

We plan to take the train from Trenton into NYC, so a tour that departs and finishes close to the train station would be ideal.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Windows 7 - Hover-select?

When I copy music or photos from one folder to another, the file gets selected just by hovering the mouse over it.

What I LIKE to be able to do is hold down Ctrl or Shift while clicking the mouse, but it's a pain, because if I leave the cursor on an item for more than half a second, it selects (or deselects) that item as well, which is annoying at best, and dangerous if I'm deleting.

Can someone tell me how to turn this feature OFF so that an item will only be selected when I click the mouse? Thanks!

  • Looking for name of a really sick foreign film?

I saw a movie a few years back. I think it was Swedish, and won some award at Cannes. It was basically a husband and wife who lost a child (accidentally fell out of the apartment window) who go on a vacation to a cabin in the woods. While there, they each began doing sick things to each other because they secretly blamed each other for the child's death. I think the last thing was the wife smashed the husband's testicles with a hammer, and while he was passed out, she drilled a hole in his knee, and inserted a shaft with a heavy knife-sharpening stone so that he couldn't move.

    Thanks.

  • What percentage of all cats is a male calico?

I know that male calicos are rare -- about 1 in 3,000 calicos are male. However, I remember seeing a website with the exact odds among ALL cats, not just calicos, and now I can't find it. Can anyone help, and hopefully provide a website to backup your figures? Thanks.

  • Question about Sound Profiles in LG Android?

On my old LG Android phone, I had it set up so that a text message has a special ringtone, so I could tell the difference between a text and a news alert, email, etc. Now, with my new LG Optimus Pro G, I can't figure out how to do that.

To make matters worse, I turned on my old phone, and still can't figure it out. Can someone help?

  • Airplane sound coming from wheels?

When I drive my GMC Jimmy, it sounds like an airplane taking off. It's a humming that gets louder as you pick up speed. It also goes away and gets lower as you reduce the speed. I don't think it's the transmission, because when you take your foot off the gas and pop it into Neutral, the sound doesn't change.

    I'm thinking wheel bearings?

  • Egg Foo Young Served Only Late?

Stopped into a Chinese place the other day around 6pm because my wife wanted some Egg Foo Young takeout. I was actually told they don't serve Egg Foo Young until after 8:30pm.

I was so dumbfounded, I just left without even asking why a place that closes at 10pm doesn't serve a dish until 8:30pm. I'm just curious to know if anybody else has ever heard of that, and if there's a reason for it.

  • How many musical artists contain chemical elements in their name?

It can either be a solo artist or a group. (i.e. Freddie Mercury of "Queen" would count), as long as it has a chemical element in the name.

  • Heat Sink Compound & New Equipment DIY?

I'm building my own PC for the first time, and I noticed that the new CPU came with a new fan & heatsink. The heatsink has what appears to be a very thin film of compound on it.

Is it recommended that I use this, or am I better off buying a new tube, cleaning off the stuff that's there now, and starting from scratch?

I'm assuming that, like electronics that come with free batteries, usually it's junk.

    Thanks.

  • GeForce 7800 GS won't detect TV?

I had to reinstall Windows 7 on my computer, and now my TV isn't detected by my video card. Im using S-video.

I know for a fact everything is fine with the cable and card, because my TV displays everything the monitor does UNTIL the Windows Desktop comes up, then I get "Unusable Signal".

I tried to "Force Detect" more displays, but it won't find anything.

    Ideas?

  • Don't have permission to view files? (Win7)?

My Windows XP crashed, so I installed a new hard drive with Windows 7. I have my old XP hard drive in there to copy things over.

Everything is working fine, except I can't seem to access anything under my specific user profile, such as My Documents, My Downloads, etc.Win7 tells me that I don't have permission to access these files, and I should click "Continue" to get access, however when I do, nothing happens.

Since I can't use my WinXP anymore, how do I go in and access these important files? Is there a way to "grant myself" permission?

    Thanks.

  • What's the average time for a mortgage to go through?

Applied for a mortgage, and while it was approved, there always seems to be some sort of red tape, such as, "Oh, we need this faxed over" and "we need to talk to your bank" and "we need to make sure the heater works fine before we finalize it." As a result, the closing date keeps getting pushed further and further back.

So what's the average amount of time for this process to take? And is the problem with the mortgage company, or the realtor, in your opinion?

  • How do I get deep, rich color with my digital camera?

I'm trying to sell an LED "OPEN" sign online, but when I take a picture of the sign lit with the room lights and camera flash off, the colors of the sign look very dull and faded. The bright, deep red now looks like a pale pink in my pictures. Same with the blue.

I'm hoping someone can tell me what setting I can change on my Canon digital camera to enable me to take a more colorful picture. Thanks!

  • Windows 8's Annoying Side bar?

My wife's new laptop has Windows 8 and we both hate it. She's used to WinXP and I have to keep telling her we can't go back to it.

The most annoying thing is the side bar on the right that crops up whenever the cursor moves to the edge. The one that displays the time when she's playing a game which causes her to have to click somewhere to get rid of it.

Is there a way to disable it? Better yet, is there a way to find out if the computer is backwards compatible to wipe it clean and install Win7?

    Thanks
