  • Should we pass a law?

That seals any record of a person who charged with a crime and not convicted? How about one that expunges their record if they have no other offense in say 10 years? People do some dumb things especially when they are young. Should one mistake follow you for the rest of your life?

  • Isn't it about time?

Federal authorities are expected to announce tough rules this week that would require employers to fire workers who use false Social Security numbers, according to The New York Times.

Officials said the rules will be backed up by raids across the country on workplaces that employ illegal immigrants.

  • What job won't you do?

One of the points in the illegal immigration debate is that the illegals will do jobs that Americans won't do. I grew up on a farm and still help out. My father hires one or two others during planting or harvest time. They are usually high school or college age. Their neighbors have a dairy farm and the father and his two sons work that farm. They have one hired man. I worked in construction while going to college. I cut my grass and raised my children without the benefit of a nanny. Exactly what jobs will American's not do? Will I work in a low paying job that is dangerous? The answer is yes if I need to support my family but I will be calling OSHA and looking for something better. So exactly what jobs will we not do that we need illegal labor.

  • Eligible to draw retirement early? Should I?

I am eligible to draw a retirement from a govt retirement. I would get around 641 dollars a month if I waited until I am 62. I would lose 5% for each year I draw early. Right now that is 30%. That 5% for each year will be perm and will affect any COLA caculations in the future. I am 56. Would it be better to draw now and invest it or wait until I am 62. I don't need it.. I don"t plan to actually thinking about retiring for another 10 years and maybe not then either. I have no debt. Once I turn 65 I actually will get more in retirement through investments and SS than I do working now. Health is good and family genetics say I will probably live into my 80s

  • Why can't it be accomplished during their term?

It seems that politicians all like to talk about is if we follow thier plan something will be accomplished after they leave office. Bush is now going to balance the budget. Of course it will happen after he leaves office. If we just follow his plan. Obama is saying universal health care in 6 years. 2 years after his term is up.

  • What is the best cell phone company?

I had a prepaid cell phone with Verizon for almost two years. I want to keep it to prepaid no contracts. Service was fine for what I wanted. Last month I had a problem with my phone. I went to the store where I bought it and ended up having to call customer service who finally after multiple phone calls told me to go back to the store I bought the phone from. Driving time, waiting time and phone calls took over 16 hours of my time. I was so angry that I waited until today to take the trip to go back to the store. I spent another three hours in the store and finally patience was at an end and took the phone still broken and came home. I am now looking for a another prepaid company. This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had to go through. I need recommendations.

  • Loser pays?

What would you think of a law that says the loser of the court case pays. You can be sued or charged with a crime and you will need to spend money for a lawyer to represent you. If you are found not guilty or the suit was wrong do you think that the loser should pay. It might cut down on some law suits. Encourage lawyers to try thier best and not just what the client can afford. It might make DA like the one in the Duke case think twice taking on about trying to cash in on political capital if he also was facing the bill that parents now have to pay if the case is dropped.

  • What is the balance?

1 in 39 Americans are in prison. We have the largest prison population in the world. Many more have criminal records. You can asked to have your record expunged after a period of time. If you have no further convictions should we automatically clear your record after x number of years? Of course there would be exceptions but does it seem right that a person can be convicted for a crime like drug possession at 18 and have a record for life? Which is more serious a drug possession with a record for life or a DUI that drops from you driving record? There needs to be room for balance.

  • Why do you think it is OK?

I work in health care and have seen medical staffed cursed, shoved, hit and have to duck objects thrown at them. They complain and are given a lecture about customer service. I have made up my mind that I will call the police and press charges against the person if I ever encounter the situation. I can always get another job. Why do some people think it is OK to abuse service people? Do they think that the louder they get the faster I will assist you? There isn't a shortage of qualified nurses but the people quit when they get enough. Don't hospitals and patients understand that a experienced worker is valuable. They have the experience to see potential problems before they become problems. The next time you are sick or have a family member in the hospital remember the more rude you are doesn't mean the the better care you get. It means nurses and other staff avoid the room and go in only when necessary. You get the required care but not the extra care they can give.

  • Older Women having babies?

Now we want to set up ethic commitees to older women to have a child. Whay haven't we set up ethic committees for men. The arugments for an older person having a child is the same. If you have enough money to undergo the medical procedures then you probably have figured out what will happend if you die before the child is raised.
