Isn't it about time?

I read an article yesterday that the punishment for employing illegals is a $10,000 fine. It wasn't clear if that was for each illegal immigrant they employ. If its just a one time fine I don't see it changing anything. It seems cheaper in the long run for an employer to pay the fine and continue to hire illegal immigrants for a fraction of what Americans work for.

I think the fine should be a set percentage of the employer's profits. That way small and big businesses are punished equally.

Even my small town newspaper had an article about the chief of police arresting an illegal for Drunk in Public and then sending him to ICE. I am not sure what is going on - I hate to get my hopes up.

What is the punishment for the employer ? We need to deal with the employers who know they are hiring illegals as well.

Yes but I'm still curious to see if employers would actually look for individuals who have false SS numbers.

i think it is important and should be an issue all over the debates this year.
