  • I just joind facebook?

We live in a strange society where we can have 100's of friends whom we never see or talk to.

On the other hand, it has been cool tracking down old friends.

    Comments?

  • Ace of cakes and other such cakes?

I've watched the show and gone to both the food network and Charm City Cakes web sites and I cannot find the answer.

Many of these cakes are made for the average person at home, not a professional food server. How are they cut and served? How can the makers handel the cake bare handed and the cake is still ok to eat?

    Thanks!

  • Anyone know Lake George activities?

My husband and I are going to Lake George from about lunch time through dinner and we want to optimize our time and not spend too much money. Any suggestion?

Once we get into town, is it easy to get around? We are interested in a nature walk or short hike and other outdoor activities.

Dining suggestions? We are not big meat eaters.

If we go swimming, are there changing areas since we are not staying in the area?

    Thanks!

  • Is this normal for a 4 year old?

My almost 5 year old son cries at the drop of a hat, especially when he does not get his way. I'm concerned because he seems to get upset over stupid things. Example: I put too much or too little cereal into his bowl and he flips out - crying and yelling that I did the wrong thing. He is so smart and knows how to say "may I please have more/less". Sometimes he will give the polite answer and be so good it blows me away. Other times he just flips out. At day care he will often cry when he cannot do something instead of asking for help.

There have been no stressful family or other issues that I can think of. His dad and I are happily married. We never give in to crying - we are very consistent and this has been occurring on and off for over a year. I cannot pinpoint an exact trigger.

Is this normal? If not, what should I do?

  • Training wheels on or off?

My four and a half year old son asked for the training wheels off his bike, and then learned that it's not as easy as it looks. Before taking them off, we told him they don't go back on. Now he wants them back. Do I make him keep them off and risk him hating the bike or put them back on, which means going back on what I said?

  • Fashion Advice Needed?

I have a great dress for a wedding. I recently bought a bag and a necklace to go with the dress - love them both. Unfortunately, I was not thinking about the bag and the necklace together. They don't match at all. Do I use both with the dress or only one?

  • Makeup and hair question?

I HATE foundation, but I'm in a wedding party this summer and think I need something to look my best in pictures. How do I control my very oily, slightly blotchy skin?

As for hair, what's the best way to maintain curls?

    Thanks!

  • Sex change - serious question?

Certain medical conditions have an increased risk factor based on sex. When someone changes sex through surgery and hormones, which risk category are they in - per or post surgery?

I assume both original genetics and current hormones play a role. Has this issue been studied?

I need facts, not opinions. A source will be helpful.

    Thanks!

  • It is just me? (question for working parents)?

I have two great kids (21mo and 4.5 yrs), a wonderful husband, and I am a full time student.

I want both more time with my kids AND less time with my kids.

I think I am just stressed from my workload.

Do other parents feel this way or is it just me?

  • When did your child develop modesty?

My son is 4 and loves being naked. He knows the difference between boys and girls (he has a younger sister). I avoid changing in front of him, but I don't get upset if he sees me.

I'm just wondering what other kids do.

  • Any medical types out there?

    I'm desperate!! Please help.

I have a case study due for school. What is the medical dx?

Patient: 42y/o, SOB, underweight, high WBC & BUN & PB. Anxious, in & ex wheeze, weak, dry cough. Dyspnic, tachycardia & pnea, temp 102.2. Cool & clammy. Hyptoactive bowel.

    Here's my thinking:

Pneumonia - no because cough is usually productive and not wheezing like in case study.

TB - maybe, but usually crackles and chest pain, but not in study.

PE- tachypenia, dyspnea & anxiety fit, but what are breath sounds with PE? Why a fever if PE?

COPD - cough is usually productive. Why would pt have fever & high WBC?

Asthma - fits best with the presentation, but wheeze is more common on expiration. More important, why does the pt have the fever, high WBC & high BUN?

    Bronchitis has a productive cough.

BUN can be kidney, sepsis, excess protein consumption, starvation, dehydration, or cardiac failure.

Pt is very thin. Can BUN be due to starvation & starvation due to dyspnea? But why fever
