  • What's the best book about Hula Kahiko?

I love watching the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival, but I often get confused when the hosts use Hawaiian words for things. Is there a book, dictionary or general educational, that talks about the different styles/implements/clothing you see during Merrie Monarch? I'd really like to educate myself on this dance, but it's hard. I'd like something with pictures, but I'll take something that is all text.

  • Do nuns take off their habits when they are around each other or only in the privacy of their rooms?

I know Jewish and Muslim women who cover their heads can remove their coverings when they are in female only settings. Do nuns do this too (like in the convent) or can they only take their habit off when they're alone? Does it depend on their order?

What was the name of the girl that did the hip hop duet on the show on either season 1 or 2. All I can remember is that they were wearing white gloves and both the girl and choreographer were black. Any information would be helpful. thanks.

  • Can anyone tell me how the Alfred Hitchcock film "Spellbound" ended?

It was interesting, but I just came off a 13 day work week and I fell asleep right when Ingrid Bergman was talking about going up to some ski resort. I'm kinda mad since I love that Hitchcock twist!

    Thanks.

  • Wet Food = 3 Minutes of Pawing?

My cat has very dry skin, which causes her to itch a lot. I recently purchased a meat flavored liquid that I feed to her once a day to help lubricate her skin. I usually put it on her dry food because she'll eat it all. But after eating, she paws either side of the food dish (on the floor, not on the bowl) for about 3 minutes.

We have fed the cat tuna occasionally as a treat, but they normally only eat dry food. I've never seen her do this before I started putting the liquid on her food. I was curious as to what it means.

    Thanks!

  • How is London Housing set up?

To Londoners or people who have stayed in London for a few months or more:

I am thinking about enrolling in an educational program in London that is just under a year long. I have been there before, but only for vacation, so I stayed in hotels. I check gumtree a lot, but I want to know what they norm is. Are flats mostly let by individuals or professional companies like it is in America? Should I use an agency? Any general advice regarding the housing market in London is welcome.

    Thanks!

  • What website do the Ladies recommend find ways to flatter your figure?

I have been looking for a good website that can tell you what type of clothing works best for your figure (i.e. large chest, small upper body/wider lower body, etc.) I found a few, but they are not very thorough.

    Any recommendations, Ladies?

  • How can you get a cat to cover her excrement?

This a re-post with more details.

My two cats RECENTLY STOPPED covering up their excrement when they use the litter. I would really like help with this since it stinks constantly and it's embarrassing when we have company.

Recently a stray has been coming to the window and yowling/hissing at my cats. They get very upset when this happens. I'm wondering if they think their territory is being threatened, thus letting the scent be "known".

    Facts are as follows:

    1. We have one box for each cat.

    2. We clean both boxes once a day MINIMUM.

    3. The litter works extremely well. But it has to cover the feces to neutralize the scent.

    4. We changed our litter brand 3 months ago but the liners and the boxes are still the same.

    5. The cats started this problem two weeks ago.

    Thanks

  • Is There A Virus Where People Can See What You Type As You Type It?

I was watching an episode of "Law and Order" where a man cyber-stalked a woman by giving her PC a virus that allowed him to actually watch what she was doing on her PC in real time. There was another virus (on another L&O episode) that allowed the hacker to access another person's email. What kind of virus is that and what kinds of devices protect against it? Where are people getting this kind of stuff?!

And for you super savvy computer people: are Macs as vulnerable as PCs?

I'm going through a some issues with a very strange Ex-husband who lives on his computer. I have changed my IP provider and email, but I would like to find a way to be as protected as possible. Thanks!

  • Why Do Schools Ask For a Photograph?

I'm American, but I've been applying to a few British schools. I noticed that more than one asked for a photograph to be attacted to the application. A few decades back, American schools often did this, but it was for prejudicial reasons. What do British schools hope to gain by seeing my photo? Does the fact that these are Beauty Therapy programs make a difference? Do British Colleges and Universities ask for a picture of the applicant?

  • How do you find affordable non-Section 8 (ghetto) housing in DC?

I know many places have "affordable housing" set aside for people who low/moderate incomes in 'regular' apartment complexes. How can you get a list of these without calling every complex in MD/DC/VA? The HUD site is very outdated (typical governement). Half the places I called either don't exist, are no longer managed by the company given, or had their number changed! And many of them are in very poor areas where it's unsafe. What is someone who doesn't have a lot of money but isn't making only 16,000/year supposed to do in the DC area??? I don't need to live on Kalorama, but I dont want to get shot at either.
