  • What's wrong with my air conditioner?

About three days ago, my air conditioner started dripping water. I called the maintenance man in my apartment and he said the coils are probably frozen. He told me to turn off AC all night and he would fix problems in morning. The next day, he changed my air filter and put Freon in ac. He told me air conditioner would drip for a bit, but eventually stop. It's been two days and it's still occasionally dripping dirty water. Is this normal?

  • Accidentally sold beer to 17 yrs old in Texas?

It was a sting operation. The kid came in and bought a can of Coors. He looked like one of the college kids who come in every night to buy beer. I've seen their IDs several times, so I didn't ask.

The kid was 17. I received a yellow citation and so did my manager. We were not arrested. The police didn't answer my questions. He asked how old I was and if I had a license to sell. I said no because I was never told to get one.

The officer/judge someone will call me in two weeks for further instructions. He mumbled something about a warrant for my arrest. I asked him more questions, but he didn't answer. It wasn't until I looked on citation that I realized I have to appear in court.

Can anyone tell me what's going to happen. This is my first time offense.

  • Are old Ft. Sill records public?

I recently learned that a distant uncle of mine was at FT. Sill in 1925. He didn't stay long because he was running a gas station in 1926. He might have been given a discharge. Is there anyway I can look at these records? Does anyone know if they're public?

  • Can someone tell me what this dream means?

So, I'm at the cemetery, and next thing you know, I'm falling into some kind of coma. My body is shaking and I'm literally dying. The background is melting, and I can see all these colors. I can hear a female voice saying, "She's so beautiful. She's gonna be so beautiful."Then a male voice says, "Quiet. Let her die."

Is my dream trying to tell me that I might die soon? Or, to be careful about something?

  • How to legally dig up a dead person (serious question)?

OK, 88-yrs-agp. my Great Grand Uncle was murdered, and a funeral was held 7 days later at a small cemetery in Texas. On that exact same day, a few hours later, another funeral was held. The graves were marked with wooded stakes until tombstones were delivered weeks later. The man who delivered the tombstone for my uncle was said to have placed it on the wrong grave (the other man who died that day.) The graves are literally side-by-side.

For decades, my uncle's oldest sister swore that her brother's tombstone was placed on the wrong grave. Her children also believe her. My Great-grandfather, and my uncle's other sister, believe the tombstone was placed on the correct grave.

Is there anyway to legally did up my uncle to see if he really is buried in the correct spot? Does are family need to go to court? This is a serious question. We really want to know. Thanks.

  • Can a member of my family sue me if I write a fictional college paper about my ancestors?

First off, I attend an art college. We're not a regular college.

My assignment in English II is to write a fictional story about your ancestors (going back 60 years as not to embarrass anyone still alive.)

I've been writing my story, and using real names. Which my teacher is fine about in the assignment. Well, today I get a phone call from an elderly cousin (in her 80's) who found out about my fictional story, and plans to sue if I decide to e-publish it on Kindle. Which, several of my classmates want to do with their stories. She says it defames a Great Uncle of hers. The man has been dead since 1926.

Anyway, if I use real names in my story, can she legally sue me? The woman is beyond hysterical because there is a family rumor that our uncle was gay, and kept it a secret because this was the 1920's. Can she legally sue me if I use real names. He's both our uncle, but the man has been dead since 1926. Perhaps, it's best off to change names in my story when I e-publish it?

  • Is my dead ancestor communicating with me?

In 1926, my great grand uncle was killed in a case of mistaken identity--at least that is what our family always believed. I'm the writer in my family and i decided to write a semi-fictional story about him. While brainstorming my story, I decided to have my uncle die because he got a girl pregnant, and the daddy shot him. I also made up a few other things like, my uncle's dad (my 2nd great grandfather) treating his son harsh because he was sexual abused by his older brother growing up. Morbid, I know.

Well, for a year, i researched my uncle, and i even drove 3 hours out of my way to the courthouse to find my uncle's murder trail records. Imagine my shock when I found out my uncle really did get his girlfriend pregnant in 1926, and the dad killed him! His siblings lied to us throughout the years. I couldn't believe it! I just thought I made it up. I recently tracked down the granddaughter of my uncle, whom no one in my family ever knew about. She told me about the trial from what her family told her growing up. When my 2nd Great Grandfather took the stand to testify as a character witness he said that he was abused growing up by his brother, which affected how he raised his son. This was another shock to me. I cannot believe that my supposedly 'made-up' story turned out to be real! My family is in shock by this new revelation.

i'm starting to believe that my great grand uncle somehow communicated to me to tell his story. What does everyone thing? Can the dead talk?

  • Should I quit my job?

First let me say that I really enjoy my job, I work at a pharmacy and I make good money. Getting hired on took 6 weeks when it should have taken 2 days. First off, when I went to take my drug test, the company actually lost it, and I had to reschedule another. Then, it took HR two weeks to get my background check through. So, I finally get the job after 6 weeks, and I get a call from my manager on Sunday wanting to know why i'm not at work. I told him that I don't work Sunday. He told me that I do, and that someone was suppose to call and tell me. No one did. So, I was an hour late on my first day of work. Today, my manager gets stressed out because another co-worker (the same one who failed to call me and inform me that I work Sunday) told my manager that I'm rude to the customers, which is a lie. I greet every customer who walks into the pharmacy, even if i'm with someone else. So, my manager pulls me into his office (with that co-worker), and informs me that he thinks hiring me was a mistake, I told him the truth, but he believes the other girl because she has worked there 7 months. i haven't even been here a week and already co-workers are sabotaging my job. Should I just quit? Or, wait to find a new job? Or, wait until my manager fires me? BTW, this girl is 22. I'm 30 and too old for this backstabbing nonsense.

  • Is my ancestor trying to tell me something?

I had an odd dream that I was at my family cemetery, and it was pouring down rain. I stopped by the massive tombstone of my 3rd Great Grandfather. Just then, a bolt of lightning came down, struck the stone, splitting it in two. A deep, blue smoke came out of the grave. I could hear my ancestor saying, "Love, happiness, and wealth."

Just a little background on my 3rd great grandfather, he was kind of a jerk. He had money, and disowned his 2nd son, who is my 2nd great grandfather. Anyone know what the dream can mean?

  • What came before the WPA?

I recently found an old photo of my Great Grand Uncle at Ft. Sill Army Base in 1925. He has on a uniform that resembles the Boy Scouts, and a hat. On the back someone had scribbled: Frank-WPA-Ft. Sill-1925.

When I Googled it, it says that the WPA wasn't founded until the 1930's. Frank died in a freak accident in 1926, so he couldn't have written that. The handwriting is loopy, and kinda girly. Probably one of his sisters wrote it. So, my question is: what came before the WPA? Was there another work program? I doubt he joined the army. Or, perhaps the Boy Scouts had a camp at Ft. Sill? Anyone know? I can post a link to the photo if seeing the uniform is helpful.

  • What would my Great Grand Uncle call me?

I don't even know how to properly title this question.

Quick story: I've been chosen by my elderly relatives to write a book about my Great Grand Uncle who was murdered in 1926. He was my great grandfather's older brother. How would he address me? Would I be his Great Grand Niece? Is that the proper title?

  • Why are the Little House books considered historical fiction?

I'm being serious. I really don't know the answer.

I've always loved the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder and have been reading them since the 3rd grade. I recently got my little cousins hooked on them. Not wanting to give them my vintage copies (they're still at that age that they might destroy them), I took them to the used bookstore to buy their own copies, and for the first time I realized that they're considered fiction.

If Laura is writing true stories about her childhood, then why is it considered fiction? I just found out that Mr. Edwards wasn't a real person, but her stories are mostly true. Her family did travel by covered wagon, and the hardships they suffered were real. Why fiction?

  • How long can the average man go without food or water?

My grandfather is 74, and right after Christmas holidays he went to the doctor for a check-up, and they discovered a tumor in his brain. He refused chemo, because the first session made him sick. We all thought he would be fine, because he seemed to be getting better after he stopped chemo. About a month ago, he had a relapse. He now cannot walk, talk, eat, or anything. He lays in bed, or on the sofa all day long. My aunt has moved into my grandparent's house to take care of him. My dad was at his house two days ago, and grandpa didn't even recognize him.

Well, he hasn't eaten, or drank anything in almost 6 days. He can't swallow. The tumor is now affecting that part of his brain.

My question is, how long can a person go without food and drink? We all know that he's dying. It's no secret. I just want to know how much longer he will have to suffer. We hate seeing him like this.

  • Can I post a hate email someone sent me?

I know this is a strange question, but I just want to know if I will get in trouble. A former classmate of mine recently sent me a Facebook request, I deleted it because this 'woman' was a ***** in high school, and honestly I don't believe she ever changed. We never got a long, and she bullied everyone. The next day, I received a profanity laced message from her. She was clearly insulted that I deleted her request. I blocked her. But, I want to know if I can legally screenshot her message, and post it online: Facebook, Twitter, ect. I don't plan on blocking out her name, or FB URL. Can she legally get me in trouble? I see this all the time, but the people who post their hate mail usually block out the sender's name. I want everyone to know what kind of person she really is.

  • What is the name of this old black and white cartoon about mice?

I think this is an old Fleischer or Van Beuren Studios cartoon. Back in the early '90's my grandmother gave me a VHS of old cartoons. Keep in mind, these were from her day. I remember every cartoon was about a mouse. It wasn't Mighty Mouse, or Herman and Katnip. These were poor quality, black and white cartoons. In one episode (and I can't believe I remember this) it shows the mice inside the wall of a house and they have like their own community. The main mouse is like going from level to level doing some kind of work. There is a cat (I think) outside waiting for the mouse. I cannot think of the name of the cartoon. If this sounds familiar to anyone, please let me know. I know this is a long shot, and probably won't get a response, but that VHS was one of my favorites as a kid. This is NOT Disney, or Looney Tunes.

  • I just reported this facebook page for harassment and he's still doing it. How do I stop him?

There is a Facebook page that I've reported for harassment. The owner of the page has contacted me, sent me a rude message full of bad spelling, now he is bad-mouthing me on his page. Everything on my page is 'friend's only,' except my profile picture and background. How do I block this man's page? There is not an option to block him. Since he 'bad mouthed' me on his page, I'm sure I'm about to received a ton of hate messages and friend's requests. How do I block people from sending me messages? The owner of this page threatened a friend of mine, and she has asked people to report him, so I did. Now, he is lashing out on me and calling me a liar. How do I stop him and his followers from contacting me? Posting comments on my profile picture and background b/c FB's only option is public.

  • Am I having a quarter-life crisis of sorts?

I woke up this morning as usual, and within an hour I learned that a good friend of mine is about to be a Sophomore in college. I began to feel a little depressed because that means I'm getting old. I'm 5 yrs older than her. As the hours went by, little things that I would normally brush away began to get at me. Like: "I'm 30 yrs old and living in an apartment that I hate. Will I be here forever? A lot of my friends own houses." "My younger friends are getting older. I miss my college days." Then, a writing teacher (non-college related) criticized my work and said, "You're too far advanced to make such stupid mistakes." Stupid stuff like that has been getting to me all day long. I've read about crisis like this when someone is about to be thirty, and I think I'm having one.
