  • My goldfish can't go to bathroom.?

One of my goldfish has red streaks around gills and front breast fins. It also has a visible lump on its side. And it can't swim straight. First I thought it was pregnant. But now I think it may be unable to pass stool. All other fish are fine. I'm thinking boiled lettuce may be the culprit. My question is...What can I do now? Should I take it out of water and rub it to see if it can pass stool?

  • Why would Thyroid Biopsy be inconclusive?

My wife noticed that area around her thyroid had slight bump. So she had ultrasound done but it was inconclusive. So she had thyroid biopsy done but that was also inconclusive. Doctor's office told her that not enough sample was taken to make a conclusive determination. So Doctor's office is recommending her to see a specialist. My wife is furious because her medical bills are piling up ($1300 for biopsy) and hasn't found anything out yet. Is this normal or did hospital lab screw up the test?

  • How does one feed a mystery snail?

I have a fish tank with 4 small goldfish. And I just added a mystery snail to the tank. I read that the snail eats alge and fish flakes. • On a Disney cruise, is a room with a balcony dangerous for little kids?

I have 3 and 6 yr olds and I want to try the Disney cruise. I would like to get a room with a balcony or veranda, but I was wondering what would happen if someone would fall off. Would they land on a lower level floor or would they fall in the ocean? Either way, it sounds dangerous. But ocean is definitely no for me.

  • Chase Mortgate Reduction Offer...Is this fraud?

I got an official looking letter from Chase offering to refinance my current mortgage at a lower rate with no closing costs. And I have to respond within a week to take advantage of it. Is this a fraud? If not, what do they get out of it? Since my current mortgage is with them, they would be getting less interest from me with this deal.

  • How to tell husband not to spend wife's money on his parents...?

This question is posted for someone I know. Husband's out-of-work parents want to move to a new house and asks their only son to contribute 50% of the money. Husband has no savings and asks his wife for her savings(from before the marriage). How can wife say no in a way that will not upset her husband. Husband is from a poor family and is very sensitive about money issue. And he must feel some obligation to help out parents. Wife wants to keep the marriage working so telling him he is a jerk is not an answer. I'm looking for a creative answer that can somehow diffuse the situation and benefit both parties. They have little kids.

  • Can using antihistamine on kids for allergy lead to lifetime dependency?

I have a 5yr old boy with allergies to pretty much everything(mold and ragweed types). So far, his only symptom is perennial sinuitius. It can be controlled with OTC antihistamines. But I'm concerned that he may have to depend on drug rest of his life. So I would rather try to control the condition with diet and exercise. Is my worry about drug dependency legitimate? Any words of advice? Thanks!

  • Is academic record from a primary school really required by CGFNS?

Hello! I am asking this for another person. This person was educated in a foreign school, but wants to attend US school for BSN degree. US university requires that the applicant verify academic credentials through CGFNS. According to the CFGNS application, class list, hours, grades from each academic institution has to be mailed directly from the educational institution. I could see the necessity from high school to university. But is academic record from elementary and junior high really necessary? Is photocopy of diploma not enough? If you have experience working with CGFNS for a similar application process, please let me know your thoughts. Thank you for your time!

  • Could water softener be causing water hammer?

Hi! I installed the water softener in the basement far away from the water main, as in where the water first comes into the house. This location was chosen because it is closer to the drain and power outlets. But I'm having a problem with water hammer. I was wondering if I should move the water softener closer to the water main. Do you think that will get rid of water hammer? And no, there wasn't a problem with water hammer before the softener was installed. Thanks!
