Can anyone tell me who made the 1970s cover of this song?
4 AnswersBlues8 years agoSound Effects in Powerpoint 2003?
Hello,
I have added music to my PP 2003 presentation that covers two slides.
When I click onto the third slide, it stops, which is of course correct.
Is there any way of making the music 'fade out' gradually, instead?
Thanks.
1 AnswerSoftware9 years agoMike Oldfield's old house in Hergest Ridge?
I used to have a link to the website for Mike's old house where he lived in the 70s, as it was/is being run as a rental holiday home, but that link no longer seems to work anymore.
Does anyone know if it is still possible to rent this house and if so, where the website is?
1 AnswerOther - Music9 years agoGood antistatic hair products?
My hair has become very static over the last few weeks. I know it's the cold weather, etc. making it worse, but it has never been this bad before.
What serums or leave-in conditioners can you recommend for this problem; what has worked for you? My hair is fine and shoulder length.
Thanks!

6 AnswersOther - Internet10 years agoI am looking for the words to 'Song of Liberty' by A P Herbert ...?
... it's the poem used as lyrics for Elgar's Pomp & Circumstance March #4 in G.
I've tried to find it online, with no luck. If anyone knows the words or can find them where I've failed to do so, I'd be really grateful.
Thanks.
4 AnswersClassical1 decade agoCost of sending a letter from the US to the UK?
I am sending a letter to the US from the UK and need to send a stamped addressed envelope.
Can anyone in the US tell me the cost of an airmail stamp, for a letter? I did have a whole sheet of the right stamps; there were the blue Yosemite National Park stamps that were 84c, but that was a couple of years ago and I am guessing the price has increased since then.
Thanks!

3 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoDual Voltage Appliances?
I have a pair of travel hair straighteners than are marked as 'dual voltage'.
Normally with dual voltage items (i.e. hairdryers, etc.) there is a switch on them to switch between European and US voltages. However the straighteners do not appear to have any such switch.
My question is, can an appliance be dual voltage without a switch? Can it change voltage settings automatically when it detects a voltage change?
I am in the UK, and travelling to the US later this year.
Thanks.

I have had a pierced nose for 10 years. I removed the stud this morning to change it but, for the first time ever, I could not get a stud back in the piercing.
Does anyone know what might be the reason, and are there any tips for puttung back the stud easily? I have tried Vaseline on the piercing but the problem is, it just makes the stud slippery and impossible to hold.
Thanks!

I have a Midland 4001 (UK radio). The audio amplifier recently blew up, which I have replaced with another one. The audio now works and the radio will transmit, but for some reason it will not receive. Does anyone know what I might need to replace in this radio to be able to fix the problem? I have the circuit diagrams. Everything on this radio works fine, except the receive. Thanks!

8 AnswersMovies1 decade agoTop of the range hire car was received ... why?
To cut a long story short: we were hit in our 12 year old Escort at the weekend. The driver, who drove a large and expensive car, admitted liability and was very sorry and even cried when she learned we needed the car for our holiday this week and that she hit us the day of my partner's birthday!
Her insurance company called within two hours of the accident to say we'd get a hire car on Monday. They said it would be 'like for like'.
The car arrived yesterday. They sent ... a Mercedes E220 CDI. Now I am no car expert but no way is that a 'like for like' for a 12 year old Escort!
I was wondering if the woman might have asked her insurance company to send an expensive hire car as a way of saying sorry ... what do you think? Can people be that nice? If she did, it restores my faith a lot!

2 AnswersFacebook1 decade agoVarious queries on renting a flat - never done it before!?
Hi,
I might need to rent a furnished flat in the north of England very soon. I have a mortgaged flat in London but if I take a job in the north, I'll need to get a flat asap.
I am thinking of letting my ex partner stay in my London flat and pay me the mortgage every month....are they any legal implications if I do this? I mean do I have to inform anyone?
Also, as regards the flat that I may rent....as I say, I've never rented before; apart from the monthly rent, what else would I have to pay? I assume I'd have to pay for whatever gas or electricity I used, but how about contents/buildings insurance? Council tax? Water rates? Are some expenses built into the cost of the rent?
Sorry I have so many questions but I'd be grateful for any advice from experienced renters or lettings agents....
Thanks so much.
5 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoBreak Legislation for Train Drivers?
I work in road transport. There is a complex set of regulations governing how long a driver may drive before taking a break, how long that break must be, how long he needs to have off between shifts and at weekends etc...
I am wondering, is there a similar set of regulations for train drivers? *Surely* there must be but, apart from the bog standard Working Time Directive which applies to nearly all workers, I cannot see anything specific to train drivers.
Any train drivers out there who can help???
Thanks!
