  • Buying a used car...?

Looking at buying a car, new or used. We found one we wanted to check out, but it was previously used as a rental vehicle. It is a 2013 with under 20k miles on it. Has anyone ever purchased a used rental before? I'm a little hesitant.

  • Looking for: Draft N router?

Looking for the best draft n mixed mode router with external antennas.

Please don't just post links. I have been looking myself and I'm stuck between a few. Mixed mode speed is of temporary importance, but also a main factor.

Overall speed is not a major issue. On average I'm getting 12 down with 4 up. Still DOCSIS 2.0 here :\

  • Price check on used Alpine Type R 10" subwoofers?

I have a pair of the subs and had a baby shortly there after. The speakers have been in my car for a little under 8 months and I had to pull them out of the trunk to make room for the baby stroller.

The speakers are in mint condition and I was just wondering what I could get for the pair. I don't want to part from them, but it is what it is.

    Any help is much appreciated!

  • Looking to upgrade wife's PC...?

My wife currently has a Prescott 3.0 and an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe motherboard with 2 gigs of OCZ PC3200 and an ATI x850xt and a PC Power and Cooling 480w PSU. I built this pc for her back in the beg. of '04!

Her motherboard just died and I want to replace it for her. She DOES NOT want me to spend more than $150-$200 on an upgrade.

I am wondering if I should just find the same mobo and call it a day or get a mobo/cpu upgrade combo. I know that the memory and the other items would work with a new set-up, but don't know if it would be worthwhile.

I was looking into a Pentium D and mobo combo.

She uses the PC for World of Warcraft primarily and the usual web use.

Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

  • Looking for a Bungalow in The Florida Keys...?

I hate Valentines Day with a PASSION!! I don't think you need a special day to tell someone you love them... Unfortunately, my wife does :) We live in Miami and I was thinking that renting a quiet bungalow for the weekend after Valentines day would be a nice escape from reality.

I'm originally from NJ, so I don't know sheet about the Keys. Money isn't a real issue, but saving where you can always helps!

Looking for a spot prefferably on the water and smoking allowed. So, yeah... Thanks!

  • Accessing Files on Home Network?

I have set up a home network with my computer and my wifes. When she downloads songs to certain folders, I can get access to them on mine. I have allowed access to my certain folders, but can't seem to find or see it. What to do next? I have XP PRO and she has XP Media. Do I need a hub or can our router work both ways? Thanks

  • CPU Temps - Intel Prescott 3.0 ?

Performance in gaming, I'll now go to AMD, but what's done is done. My PC is a littl eover 2 years old now and yeah. I have a 3.0 Prescott with 4 10k rpm drives, 2 gigs of OCZ and an ATI x850xt. While gaming, fps and mmorpg's, my temps never cruise past the high 50's -- 58c ish... When I play Guild Wars, the temps jump up to 68c. I have my motherboard monitor warning hit me @ 70c.

I clean my cpu off and apply new artic silver about once a year. All my games temps are fine for what I have, but GW's runs a bit hot.

I have a Thermaltake Xaser something with a Zalman fan. I have to open the front door to keep my cpu cooler during GW...

Is this normal? What's the avg operation temps for the prescott and what's your personal averages with any cpu.

    Thanks

  • Sony Jam Trax 2.0?

I'm with my nephew and we're making a song on Sony's Jam Trax software. It's nice and easy for him to use. I was wondering if anyone else has used this and what they think of this basic software.

Also, is there any way to make the songs longer than a minute and a half? We're doing great here but limited to track length.

No where on Sony's pages or forums did I find a fix or more info on this.

    Thanks!

  • DVD Playback on a HDTV?

My gf has a sixtey something inch Mitsubishi TV! Aww yeah! Lol. Anyway, we have Direct Tv's HiDef and I see it plays in 1080i HDMI. Even normal tv plays at the resolution. When the DVD plays it's only 480i. Is that because I have it connected through a HDMI wire?

I believe on my DVD player, I have the setup for component. Right now, it's connected through the SVideo wire.

Would removing the SVideo and going with the component wires resolve this? Also, would going optical with the audio show a noticable difference vs. the reguar White/Red wire?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Many thanks!

  • How do I get rid of fruit flies with household items?

I have no rotting fruit or extra-ordinary damp areas, no spilled juice or crumbs. I don't get it! Fly paper barely works. Any way to stop the breeding or a way to find the breeding locations? They are in my kitchen and bathroom. Any help is much appreciated!
