  • In which movies does John Wayne strike a woman, or approve of striking a woman?

I was telling a friend that I have seen at least two movies where John Wayne hits a woman. He asked which two movies and I can't remember, but I'm betting someone else knows. There are other movies where he does sexist stuff also; if you can remember those, that would be great!

  • Question about my quad-core processor?

I have an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600. I was wondering whether the 2.4 GHz refers to the total of all four cores put together, or to that of each individual core by itself.

  • Girlfriend sharing drinks, chapstick, and using the same fork as her friend...?

My girlfriend often shares drinks, chapstick, or eats off of the fork of her friend when we go out. It makes me feel sick to my stomach, and I no longer want to kiss her. I'm not the kind of person who tries to control their partner's behavior, but in this case I couldn't ignore my disgust and we had a conversation about it.

I asked her not to do it, and she said she didn't completely understand, but since it made me feel sick she would stop. Her friend also USUALLY doesn't have a cold sore, which makes me feel even more ill.

Then she did it again, and I reminded her about it and asked her not to do it. She did it once again after that, and it's been causing problems since then. She says she just doesn't think about it.

Tonight, it happened yet again. It was before we'd gotten our food at Olive Garden, and I felt frustrated enough that I didn't eat any of it and I went home afterward.

Am I being completely irrational? I never ask her for anything, yet often I do things for her or make concessions.

Would it be wrong for me to demand that she stop this when I'm around? If I'm the only one that feels this way, maybe I should get therapy. What do you think?

  • Why do you hate Vista?

Windows 7 is coming out because people complained enough about Vista, and I'm kinda peeved about it. I'm really honestly curious as to what problems people have had with Vista. I have used Vista since around the time it came out, and I've never had a single problem.

I've run high-end games such as Oblivion and Fallout 3. I've done networking stuff with no problems, and things were actually more user friendly than XP. I've never gotten the equivalent of the blue screen of death.

The SINGLE problem I've ever had is that Nero didn't work with Vista. But it was old software anyway. It's kinda like how DOS games I like don't work anymore either.

So I don't get it. Why do you hate Vista?

My brother is a teacher, and asks his (college level) students why they hate Vista. They don't have an answer, usually. Neither do the people I ask.

So, really, what is your reason for hating Vista? The OS has run flawlessly for me. Is it just trendy? I mean, I hated XP. It crashed constantly, had all kinds of other problems, and Vista seemed to fix all that.

...or am I just extraordinarily lucky, and somehow got a superior copy of Vista? Or maybe, just maybe, lots of people tried to run Vista with the minimum spec...

  • AAAH What's with all the ridiculous mermaid questions?!?

I mean really. When I was younger I actually knew that it would be impossible to physically turn into a creature of any kind. I never even thought I would be able to turn into an X-Man, as cool as it might be. None of my friends thought that stuff either. What's happening to our society?

  • Has anyone ever messed with a ouija board and had absolutely nothing happen

Just out of curiosity. I'd be willing to bet one thousand dollars that if I sat down by myself with a ouija board, nothing would happen.

And yes, I know they are evil, etc. etc. Any crazy ouija stories are welcome though.

  • My girlfriend has serious anxiety problems.

We've been together for about 9 months. Things were rocky at first, but got better after about two months. About once a month she seems to freak out and can't relax around me. She says she's had anxiety all her life, and she is seeing a therapist, but I can't help but feel angry and frustrated.

Her anxiety is controlling the relationship in every way. For example, she refuses to plan anything ahead of time. Sometimes when she has a weekend off, we'll make plans and she gets so anxious about it that we don't go out, or if we do it's uncomfortable because she won't talk or act natural.

I've tried to be supportive so far, but I can't help feeling like I should leave her. What can I do to help her feel more comfortable around me?

We have great communication and I do understand the reasons why she feels anxious, but it still frustrates me that sometimes I don't hear from her for days because she freaks out so bad.

She's definitely not cheating, as some people might think. And it's not hormonal at all, as some people might think. I really do think she wants to be with me. What should I do here?

  • I live a good life, but don't believe in God at all...will I go to hell?

It baffles me that some people think that only because you don't have Jesus in your heart, you will go to Hell. In my life, I generally adhere to a strict moral code to help people when they need it and not to do things I think of as bad, or what some might call sins. I know some people who are Christian, and most of the time I commit less sins than they do, according to what they tell me of their lives.

Why, then, would God send a good person to Hell?

  • Questions about a Roth IRA account and the yearly limit?

I have 100 dollars going into my Roth IRA monthly, but I have a new job and it's easy to add funds online. Does the $3000 limit for my fund reset at a specific time during the year or does it reset at the date of the fund's inception? I want to put more in when I have extra money, but I'm just wondering when I should stop putting that extra money in and when it's okay to.

  • Why do you think people don't invest their money?

Analysis of historical records concludes that in all likelihood the stock markets of major countries will continue to rise steadily. Calculations show that by investing $100 a month in stable growth markets from the age of 25 on, it would be very easy to have more than a million dollars by retirement. It's not much money, and finding an honest investing professional is not that hard. So what gives? Why don't people do this?

  • Best way to bleach my hair white using peroxide?

I'm a guy with very short hair and I don't care if it ruins it. But I want to bleach it completely white. Can I use peroxide for this? What would I have to do, for example should I just use straight peroxide? How long should it sit on my hair before rinsing?

  • How can I look like I'm from the 80s?

I'm going to a club with an 80s theme on friday and I want to look 80s. I've got some ideas already, like maybe a Billy Idol look with messed up jeans, jean jacket with no sleeves, bandana, bleach stains or something like that.

Give me some other good ideas about what I can do with clothes I might find at a second-hand store, please!

  • Is there a dating website that gay guys can meet that's not just for sex?

I've looked a little online, but it seems like they are mostly just geared toward where gay guys can meet to have sex, and pics of their members and things like that. Like a website for gay guys looking for relationships?

  • Finding people on the internet?

  • Am I allergic to preservatives of some kind?

I have noticed that when I eat things with a high sodium content, the next day I feel terrible. Could it be a lot of sodium that makes me feel bad? Or do a high sodium content in food and a high presence of other preservatives go hand in hand? Symptoms are usually headache, nausea, dizziness, and stiffness of the joints.

  • Does anyone ever feel like they have too much spiritual energy?

Sometimes I feel like I have way too much spiritual energy inside. It comes with a feeling like I could burn up the world if I want, and a kind of clarity that makes me feel like I can reach out an touch anything I see. I feel like a phoenix. Obviously this isn't normal, but does anyone ever feel this way, that all the power of the world is inside you? What do you do about it? Or maybe other people don't feel this way...I don't know.

  • What is my set of antique Noritake china (pattern Petite #5507) worth?

My grandmother recently asked me to sell a set of Noritake china that she bought. The pattern is Petite #5507. In looking for a selling price, I have noticed that a full set of this pattern is pretty rare. I'm in the process of making sure it is all present to make a full set, and so far it looks like everything is in very good or mint condition. Of course different people will buy this for different prices, but what general price would a full set be worth on average?
