  • How can I re-alpha-sort my list of WORD documents?

Somehow my list of WORD documents got un-sortred. I had it nice & neat alphabetically but when I went to open a document last week, all the files were in no particular order. I can't get to the proper sort scenario from the list because I can't toggle up to the top. Meanwhile, it's taking forever to find specific files because I now have to scroll through the entire list of documents stored. I haven't been able to find (or understand) any of the "help" options. I have an HP PC with Windows XP; I've never had my Word documents list un-sort like this before!! HELP!!!

  • A co-worker has told another colleague that he wants to kill someone and is angry because he can't buy a gun

This individual has a long history of mental illness and is often non-compliant with his medication protocol; in addition he is an alcoholic and often misses work due to his conditions. To add a twist to the story his mother happens to be the boss of our very small office & staff. He first mentioned his intent/need to kill about a month ago and more recently shared his frustration with the same staff member that he was upset because his past history of mental illness was keeping him from purchasing a gun. I am fearful of this individual and do not want to leave a job that I enjoy because of the instability of this person, besides, my leaving would not erase the possibility that this person may succeed in his quest for a gun and end up on the evening news. The boss is aware of the 1st episode but not the most recent. This is a time bomb waiting for the fuse to be lit. What to do?

  • Help for dog with low-thyroid condition.?

My 9 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback was recently diagnosed with low-thyroid. She was lethargic, had gained weight, not wanting to get up or eat her regular meals. The Vet did lab work and her T-levels were 4 and 6.9. "Levothyroxine" was prescribed: 600mcg twice a day but I just felt that was too much and have been giving her 400mcg 'bid' instead. Now, on the 11th day, she has perked up just a little but still just isn't "right". She is also arthritic in her hips and has been taking a combo of "Traumeel" and "Zeel" (1 tablet each, 2 times a day). I have been taking her for very short walks to help strengthen her leg/thigh muscles as well but she doesn't like the cold weather and isn't eager to walk much.

I am searching for anecdotal observations and suggestions for her condition.

    PLEASE HELP!!

    Thank you ver much!

  • Low carb dieting. What can a tiny infraction do to you?

I am about to begin my 3rd week on a low-carb diet; I'm doing just fine but a colleague asked what would happen if, say, I ate an orange. So I wondered about what would happen if a person had a piece of toast or fruit or put real sugar in their tea or had a yogurt, glass of milk. Does anybody know the statistics or have anecdotal info to share?

    Thanks!!

  • Why do some TV stations broadcast louder than others?

While channel surfing, I notice that the audio on some TV stations is louder than others. at the same setting on my remote. Why is this and is there any other way to control or equalize the sound (other than the remote)?

  • "check engine light"....can you rely on that nasty little bulb to tell the truth?

I have a 1995 Chevy Lumina with less than 54,000 miles on it. In the last 6 months, the "check engine light" has illuminated off and on....not steady, just every once in a while FOR A FEW SECONDS. I took my darling vehicle to a good mechanic for a tune up and check up 2 months ago; I was told all was well except for the need for a new water pump (which was replaced). However, since then, the "CEL" has illuminated about 4 times....not steady, but sporadic (again, only for a few seconds); and for the last 2 weeks, it hasn't reappeared. The ABS light had gone on a year ago but upon scrutinty, all was well. My question is: how much faith should I put into those "hazzard" lights? I don't want a mechanic to take advantage of me (yes, I am a leary female), but I don't want to neglect a potential problem. WHAT TO DO?

  • An ethical dilemma: I currently transport a colleague and her son to/from school & work.?

18 months ago a colleague of mine had her drivers license suspended due to parking tickets (and I suspect a possible DUI); I offered to take her and her son to/from school and work thinking it would be temporary. Now, the situation continues. I know her drivers license has been reinstated, her car is drivable, yet she continues to ride with me without any explanation of when she will resume her past driving responsibilities. I happen to know her salary because I do the books at work. I know what she receives in child support and how much her rent is. She has sufficient funds to live on; she is addicted to alcohol & drugs and spends a lot of her $$ on her habits. I am now feeling like I am being taken advantage of. She cries "poor mouth" yet leaves her son with her ex when it suits her so she can indulge her vices. Her Mother also works with us and the situation is complex. What to do? I don't want to be an enabler but I feel bad for her 4 year old child. Any suggestions?

  • I live near Chicago; should I cut back perennials now or wait until Spring?

Peonie bushes, climbing rose bushes, shrubs.....prune now or when? Also, should I plant potted Mums or let them winter-over in their original containers. It's already been fairly cold so far, does that make a difference? When should I cut the gras for the last time before Winter and how short? I have a green thumb but getting plants to grow needs additional help this time of year?

  • Why do many prescription drugs warn against drinking alcoholic beverages concomitantly?

What is it about alcohol that interacts with so many prescription medications? Is it really unsafe? How many drinks are too much and what could be the reaction? I am taking Cymbalta, Diclofenac and Cyclobenzaprine for Arthritis, herniated lumbar disks and Fibromyalgia. Is a glass or two of red wine with dinner really unadvisable?

  • I receive lots of forwarded e-mails from friends; often the trail to the origin is very lengthy.?

It seems like many people just keep forwarding endless e-mail...you know, the kind that are cute, have a spiritual message, or chain e-letters.....you can tell that "hundreds" of others have already received these great works of communication. Don't people know how to actually compose an ORIGINAL idea or concept? Are they incapable of sharing THEIR feelings and not just forwarding the thoughts of others?

  • The name of a book about a man and two ladies, one of whom was named Cinnabar.?

I was first introduced to this in 1966 by a would-be suitor. In those days at the tender age of 18, I did not comprehend nor appreciate the premise of the book: One man, two women. I think the Protagonist's name was Lance? I can't remember the blond female's name but the timid and auburned hair girlfriend was Cinnabar. I think they were all probably in their late teens or twenties.......He wanted to convince Cinnabar that a threesome would be awesome. The name of the book was something like "The _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Experiment"? Oh, please help me.....I want to re-read it with the wisdom of the last 40 years of my life!

  • In the movie "Center Stage" near the end of Jody Sawyer's dance, she performs a dance move....?

It looks like a piroette (sp?) but is spinning at the same time. It's a famous move that apparently is extremely difficult and rarely performed perfectlly. I believe the last time I saw it was in Swan Lake (is it Odile or Odette?). Can any of you ballet buffs or dancers answer my question.......I adore the ballet!
