26 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: If it were possible, would you prefer that the whole world converted to christianity?
...or do you think that some people should remain excluded from your faith? Hypothetically speaking, of course...

3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoRE: Dave Barry quote in the news?
Dave Barry is a popular humorist for the Miami Herald. He's about as inoffensive as they come. Here is the quote:
"As Americans, we must always remember that we all have a common enemy, an enemy that is dangerous, powerful and relentless. I refer, of course, to the federal government."
The quote was on an office door and was taken down b/c someone found it "patently offensive"
The article goes on to say that the hallway was not a "free speech zone" Is anyone else disturbed by that phrase? Is that what it's come to?

20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat do you think of precognition?
There are many well documented cases of its occurence. Has this ever happened to you? (i.e you dreamed of something before it happened, etc.) In your opinion, what do you think causes it? PS I'm mostly interested in scientific stand points
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat do you think of JW Dunne's theory of time?
Dunne was an aeronautical engineer for the military who devised a theory of time based on precognitive dreams.
"Dunne's theory, elaborated from years of experiments into precognitive dreams and induced precognitive states, is that in reality all Time is eternally present ie that past, present and future are all happening at the same time. Human consciousness, however, experiences this simultaneity in linear form. Dunne posits that in the dreaming state this way of interpreting Time ceases to be as concrete as when we are awake."

Via his theory, he attempted to prove immortality scientifically. Your opinion?

2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoChristians: by asking too many questions, can one be damned to hell?
Not me, of course, we all know where I would end if there was such a place. What about the naturally inquisitive who question everything. Would these types be allowed in heaven?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhich is more admirable?
To behave in a decent manner out of sheer choice or to do so via threat of punishment (i.e. eternal damnation)...it seems to me those who do good deeds under threat of punisment are actually less moral. Your thoughts?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you think there will ever be a religion devoted to Nostradamus?

28 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat do you think of Madonna adopting an African kid?
I am torn. Obviously this child will have a much better life than he would in a third-world orphange. But I find it unsettling when children are purchased like cattle by rich celebrities. Shades of Mommie Dearest, you know. What are your thoughts?
