I know that if I follow the logic, then a light particle that travels at the speed of light must have infinite mass, according to my limited understanding of Special Relativity . As this is obviously not the case, can someone explain how a photon can have zero mass if it does indeed possess energy? Please can you answer in terms that an average person like me would understand?

I downloaded the Scratch animation program onto our Windows 7 PC so my kid can do her school homework, but this Iminent software got installed as well despite my clicking the 'no thanks' button

I have uninstalled it from Firefox and IE and Chrome addons AND removed it from Program files, but every time I boot up, there it is on my task bar and it keeps changing my homepage to Iminent

Please, anybody, short of System Restore, HOW can I remove this bloody program?

Just a thought, and a difficult one, as I believe all religion to be a monstrous concoction that destroys human thought and reason. However, without it, we would have no great literature (no Ahab ranting in Moby Dick etc), no great art (Who can look at the Sistine Chapel and just imagine it would look better just done over in magnolia?) and no great music (Handel's messiah, Verdi's requiem, nor even any Wagnerian operas)

I am not an economist, and I only got an O level in maths, but since petrol prices inflated by 30% over the last nine months due to the price of a barrel of crude (That went up to $135 a barrel), why is it that now the price of crude has fallen by about 25%, that the petrol prices in the UK have fallen by little more than 5%? I mean, surely if the price goes UP with crude, surely it must come DOWN buy a similar amount? Or am I just an old cynic who believes that the fuel companies are just creaming the vast majority oif us and there is absolutely sod all we can do about it?

This is more a psychology question than a biological one- I mean, mosquitos have killed literally millions more peiople than spiders ever have, bee stings are more dangerous than the vast majority of spider venom, they kill pests such as 'roaches, flies etc...

Why are we (I includ emyself in this) so freaked out by the bloody things- what is it about spiders that causes so much apprehension? is there a deep seated psychological fear in us that causes even grown men to flinch when one is found drinking in the bath

Just curious, cos I trying to understand our deep seated horror of a creature that seems to do us very little physical harm, compared to a lot of other of God's tableau of nasties.
