Adding ingredients to oatmeal cookies - need help on amounts (read more)?
We are making oatmeal cookies today and want to add cocount to some and pecans to some. Do I need to adjust the original recipe to make way for these dry ingredients? If so, how should it be adjusted? Thanks!
3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoArgh, please help me figure this out! Need to write a statement of jurisdiction for US District Court (more)?
It is based on diversity of citizenship and amount in question, so it definitely goes to the District Court. I'm thinking this would be in Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, but I can't find it on Westlaw and my professor is sometimes not really good about returning emails quickly. Can anyone please tell me where I can find the code/statute/whatever that would be appropriate for m jurisdictional statement? It's for my capstone project and I'm just absolutely stuck on this part (I'm actually pretty smart, lol, but this one detail is killing me!)
Thanks for any help you can give!
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade agoQuestions about recession...and no, I'm not interested in the politics surrounding them...?
1. What is the difference between recession and depression?
2. What is the immediate impact on "true" middle class and lower classes?
3. How are recessions ended?
4. What generally happens in the country, economically and otherwise, when it begins to emerge from a recession?
5. How long does a recession last? If it varies, what are the factors involved?
6. Would you want to be the president taking office just after a recession has begun? WWYD to bring the country out of it? How and why would you do this?
7. Are recessions a natural part of economic cycles?

5 AnswersEconomics1 decade agoOh crap. I uninstalled several programs today..now I have no SOUND. How do I (more)?
How do I reset my settings to what was working yesterday?? I know there's a way to do it!!
4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoI think I'm having a reaction to Wellbutrin that was prescribed to help me quit smoking - its a rash (more)
I quit taking it yesterday, but since two days prior to that, I've had these huge areas of what look like huge bites pop up on various parts of my body. It ranges from 3 "blisters" or "bites" to 15. I've had them on my face, on my arms and right now they're on the back of my right thigh. It's absolute agony! Shouldn't this reaction have stopped by now if I stopped the meds yesterday (I mean I didn't take them yesterday or today). I actually scratched them so badly day before yesterday that I made myself bleed. Benadryl isn't helping and neither is Lanacane.
HELP! Information on this rash, when it will go away and how to alleviate the itching and pain is desperately needed!
1 AnswerSkin Conditions1 decade agoOpinions on two different boats and motors please.?
We've found what we think is an awesome 87 Bayliner Ciera. Pristine condition, less than 500 hours, hi-dry kept for 17 years, all records. My husband is concerned b/c he's heard negative things about Bayliners and he's heard negative things about OMC outdrives (they're not made anymore, parts are hard to find and mechanics don't usually work on them).
We've also found a 1984 25' Formula Cabin Cruiser. This one was owned by a marine mechanic (we checked it out- it's true). He says he rebuilt the Chevy 350 3 or 4 years ago and has also rebuilt most of the Mercruiser outdrive. The boat started right up and seemed to run pretty solid. The cabin was not as polished as the Bayliner but would tidy up nicely w/ some work.
If you own or have owned either of these boats, or have experience as a mechanic or something, please weigh in here. Thanks much.
4 AnswersBoats & Boating1 decade agoQuestions for paralegals or those familiar with the profession.?
1. Does it pay well (obviously not as much as an attorney, but compared to, say, secretarial type work?)
2. If you choose to go to law school after, do any of your credits transfer?
3. What's the most lucrative field to work in as a paralegal (criminal, real estate, bankruptcy, etc..)
4. Is it an enjoyable career?
5. Do you have some control over your work hours, or is it that you leave when the attorneys leave?
Please share any add'l info you have. Thanks!
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoI need a non-alcoholic liquid for a ladyfinger recipe (more)?
I will want to pour it over ladyfingers that have been layered with cream cheese, whipped cream and vanilla.
Any suggestions would be great! I was thinking of a substitute that would be along the lines of Kahlua or Tia Maria, but I'm open to suggestions :)

3 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoLLC vs. General Corp for one-owner small business (more)?
I have gotten conflicting ideas on which is better. One of the advisors was a tax-attorney friend of my MIL's who gave me some free advice, so I don't want to bombard her with questions. The other came from an incorporation service that I've contacted about arranging the incorporation for me.
The TA told me that an LLC would require, for the life of the LLC, a taxation rate equal to that of my personal tax rate, while a GC would have a tax rate of 15%. However, the GC would also require meetings of the "shareholders" (me) - bringing about the obvious questions of: how do I hold a meeting with myself?
I'm confused, really. I like the "tax advantage" of a straight 15%, given that if this biz takes off I may well end up in a tax bracket higher than that. However, the corporation agent mentioned something about ending up being taxed twice if I choose the GC option - he was very brusque with me and kind of made me feel like I was bothering him, so I thought I'd check w/you guys.
5 AnswersOther - Taxes1 decade agoTax question about atty/acct fees incurred prior to actually incorporating biz. PLEASE READ MORE!?
I was advised today by group I'm using for incorporation setup that it would be a good idea to see an accountant and/or tax attorney before deciding on LLC or General Corporation status for my biz. Will I be able to deduct these meetings as biz expenses when my corp files next year, even though they will have taken place before I actually incorporate? Thanks
2 AnswersOther - Taxes1 decade agoIs there a way to find how much a corporation paid in taxes relative to its "income?" More?
there's someone claiming that major corporations pay a "disproportionate" amount of tax - claiming that they pay too much. I know she's wrong, but I can't find a place that shows where a corporate tax return is. I thought they were public record? For instance, GE, Haliburton or something like that.
1 AnswerUnited States1 decade agoQuestion about possible glass in food?
I was cooking a stew and went to add some wine. When I opened the bottle, the neck of the bottle came off. It was a fairly clean break. I thought it would be ok to just strain the wine as I poured it through a tea strainer, but now I'm having second thoughts. If any glass got through it would be miniscule - what would you do? Pitch the dinner and get pizza or assume it would be fine.
8 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoQuestion about recently installed laminate flooring?
The flooring was put in yesterday (they call it "floating floor" laminate) and as we walked on it last night we notice that some of the boards creak and groan. I know that traditional hardwood flooring does that when it gets older, but is laminate supposed to? Because if it's not, LOL - we need to get them back out here! Thanks.
4 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoWhat songs should I d/l to make a CD for my 2 and 5yr old daughters that (more)?
is uplifting, spiritual and will always be appropriate for them to remember how much their mommy loved them? There will come a day (hopefully a long time from now!) when I'm not around, and I'd like for them to have a strong memory of something beautiful I did for them.
I know I'd put Bette Midler's "The Rose" on there (I love the line where it says "just remember, in the winter, far beneath the winter snow, lies the seed that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes the rose." I have sung that to both my girls as a lullaby. I'd also put "True Colors," by Cyndi Lauper in there.
I also love Martina McBride's two songs, "in my Daughter's Eyes," and "I Have been blessed."
So, I have 4 songs - I want to make the CD about 12-14 songs long. What would you put on a "love songs to my daughters" CD?
Note: I asked this question in a different category and didn't get a lot of responses (or if I did, they were apparently awful and removed by Yahoo).
