Women who were too assertive were told they needed to back off and act more like a lady. With the strides made by feminism in the modern era, assertiveness seems no longer to be a gender-distinctive characteristic.

What other character traits used to be considered masculine, but are now considered neither masculine nor feminine?

Ever since the Riggs-King match (1973), people have been curious how close (or far apart) the top male and female athletes are in each sport. While Title IX has given female students in the U.S.A. more opportunities to excel at sports, there's still a significant gap between the genders at the top levels of sports that both play. Sorenstam and Wie, while impressive in the LPGA, were unable to make the cut in a PGA tournament. How far down the men's rankings would Sarena go before she met her equal?

I was reading the Barbecue Bible's suggestions for cooking stuff on kebab skewers. It was suggested that I find a way to suspend the food slightly above the grate to avoid the problem of the skewered food sticking to the surface of the grate. I've had this problem before and lost some of the food to the grate's surface.

Have you found a product that could be used this way? I tried a few grill retailers' sites, but I couldn't find anything that kept the food near the surface of the grate. At best I'd have to suspend it at least 4" above the grate's surface with a product not made for this purpose in th first place.

If you prefer to worship with a group that is led by women, why? I'm getting started on some research and was curious about people (women or men) who prefer to be in a religious group that is led by a woman or a group of women. Sincere answers would be helpful. I know I COULD have asked this in the religion/spirituality category, but since it's a double-category crossover, I figured I'd more likely get serious answers here. Thanks.

Being an educated Christian who contributes frequently to the discussion in this category, I know what my own purpose/agenda is from my vantage point. My wife and I love, respect, and value one another greatly, but we have had some marital problems. We saw a counselor recently who recommended that we try a role-reversal for 30 days by letting my wife lead the relationship, and I submit to her decisions. I trust my wife, but is it wrong for a wife to lead and for a husband to submit?
