my engine seem to be governed by a ref counter, which cuts revving off at about 5200 rpm, which makes overtaking sometimes a dodgy matter, due to power cut-off.

the "red zone" on the ref-dial starts only at 6500rpm, which i obviously don't want to get close to.

yet 5500-5800, seem to be "engine safe" to me if sporadically needed.

i suspect this is a factory setting but could be removed.

can the engine be "remapped" to remove this "electronic limiting" easily (cost?) or should i just leave it at that.

the previous owner was an elderly man, who most properly never worried about it.

i am suffering from side effects of medications
