How can Barbies be still fun in this world with the bad economy and the stress of life?
The problems today are more intense than in the past. Kids see the problems and the stress in trying to find answers to them.
3 AnswersEconomics7 years agoIf you did the same study on the Barbie Doll as Bath University in England today, would it be the same results?
Back in 2005 this study was done, the participants view of Barbie was not as favorable. They mutilated or dismembered them. They thought their actions showed maturity. Maturity is being able to handle more responsibility as one grows older. It is not by destruction of things. Collectors prove that clearly. Since there have been drastic natural and financial disasters after this study, I wonder to myself would the participants view them in a different way? We often see things differently as time passes.
1 AnswerAnthropology7 years agoWhat was your reaction to Lady GaGa's activities with Barbie dols on stage?
It seems that more females are including Barbie in their videos and concerts. Fans throw them on stage too. The females in the audience seemed to get really excited as she played with them.
2 AnswersPsychology8 years agoWhat would you do to a Barbie doll if you and your friends were bored?
I see videos that have teens and a fatherr setting them on fire. I read where there was not enough study done to determine how popular this activity is today.
1 AnswerFriends8 years agoHave you ever stripped a Barbie in anger because the clothes were so tight fitting on the doll?
I cannot figure out why Mattel made the clothes so snug on the doll. I guess that this could be one reason why adults do not enjoy playing Barbies with kids. Decapitation may even occur by trying to undress them. It can be just as hard to redress them. Think about a situation where you and the person you are `dating are babysitting a little girl with Barbies. She needs your help to change their clothes.
1 AnswerToys8 years agoSince Barbie is anatomically imprecise, what is the difference in it or some other device for sexual usage?
Since science says that no woman exists like Barbie in the real world, it seems to be rather disingenuous to claim perversion of it through private stimulation. I deal with this as a result of personal experience in a rehabilitation facility after attaining a severe and permanent disability. The suggested use of prostitutes as one option would result in the objectification of real women with STD complications as a possibility. Those conducting the session thought it an extreme suggestion over the other one. Society has an obvious disconnect with reality. Barbie can neither feel nor reciprocate in response to being used in private stimulation. Therefore, it is illogical to deem that it is a perverted use of the doll. Other objects used as vibrators have been disguised as being regular every day products for non sexual purposes. It is ridiculous to exclude them if the use of this toy is singled out as perverted. Toys like Barbie are not considered as educational in design. They are for the pleasure of the owner whether it be child or adult. How pleasure is obtained is in the discretion of that individual. The biological sexual elements in our anatomy can be just as influenced by a vibrator or Barbie doll. The exploration of those areas with such items can create a heightened awareness of sexual satisfaction.
2 AnswersBiology8 years agoDo women and teenage girls burn Barbies just for fun or out of emotional agony?
It seems almost expected for guys to burn them n correlation to their gender. I did have a nurse once that liked driving nails into Barbie dolls because of her cheating husband.
2 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender8 years agoWhen there are adult women and teenage girls taking barbie dolls and burning them, what are your thoughts?
In May 16, 2013 in Berlin, Germany recently, a group of females and some topless protesters were burning barbie dolls at the opening of an exhibit of a life size Barbie's Dream House with human sized Barbies and regular sized barbie dolls plus other barbie merchandise. New videos on the web show teen girls burning barbie . One is an instructional video on how to do it. The other was because it was an uneventful Friday.
6 AnswersGender Studies8 years agoDoes the activity of little girls torturing Barbies follow them into adulthood?
I read today where not much study is done on this subject. I just thought it would be interesting to see if it is done by adult females and how it makes them feel about it.
4 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoFor Female Colege Students: How have you used barbie in college?
I read where some burned them in get togethers. Others used them for room decor. I just was wondering is this the norm or isolated incidents.
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)9 years agoWhy do females get so excited by seeing Barbies mutilated in person or in video by Pink or Lady GaGa?
During her MonsterBall tour, Barbie dolls were thrown on stage. female fans screamed with elation when seeing her picking them up and putting barbie dolls head first into her mouth to be gnawed upon and decapitated by her clinched teeth. Their excitement seemed at afever pitch. She threw the headles ones into the audience before rubbing her crotch with their heads. They were then also thrown next. There was disappointment in a California concert when she did not decapitate a barbie as everyone expected. She took it by the legs and rubbed it in her crotch and pitched it back onto the stage. Nobody was offended by her mutilation of barbie. It seems amazing that females are offended by non performers who would do the same thing. One is viewed as entertainment. The other is viewed quite differently. Pink had a video with a Barbie with pins sticking in its head. She's sang I'm coming out after looking down upon it. . Nobody was offended by it. Did her female fans have similar emotions as the ones viewing Lady Gaga';s live concert? Actions speak much louder than words. The message we take from these actions are determined by the audience.
