When do you stop giving Christmas presents to nieces and nephews?
They are 25, 28 and 30. One is newly married. I never get a thank you-not even for the wedding gift. I had to call to see if she received it! My brother-in-law is very wealthy (we aren't). The gifts we have received (purchased I'm sure by his wife) are nothing short of pathetic and useless. The other issue is that my brother-in-law is paying half of my daughter's college bills. She doesn't know because he doesn't want other family members asking for money too (we didn't ask, he offered). Does this change things?
11 AnswersChristmas6 years agoWhat kind of cat has rings around it's tail like a raccoon?
It has an almost tiger-like face, very blue eyes and a tail that has rings like a raccoon. It is a new stray in our yard. Very different from what we usually find.

told no because no one knows her. I want to hang with my friends but I know my girl will freak.

12 AnswersCats1 decade agoI am looking for a movie called "The Cay". It was released by United TV in 1974 and starred James Earl Jones.?
I have searched all the traditional places, Ebay, Amazon. I don't think it was released on video. Does anyone have any ideas how I can find a copy? I'd like to use it in my classroom.
2 AnswersComedy1 decade agoAfter losing our beloved dog last Thanksgiving, we are ready to get a new puppy. I am leaning toward 2 small?
puppies so they can keep each other company when we are away. I have heard different opinions about the process. Should we get one at a time, or as I am leaning, get siblings- either two sisters or two brothers? What have other's experiences been?
8 AnswersDogs1 decade agoMy husband and I have a 20 year old relative living with us. We feel like we are being used big time.?
She was in college but is now on a waiting list to get into her program. She works part-time. She pays no rent (we never asked). She is hardly ever here- she is "out with friends" or now she has a new boyfriend. We never know where she is or when or if she will be coming home. We asked her when she moved in to at least tell us if she was spending the night somewhere but that only happens occasionally. She has a cat which she neglects (and we have to take care of it) because she isn't home. She will stop in to change clothes or do some laundry but spends the night either with friends or now her boyfriend about 5-6 nights a week. We don't expect her to be here every single night, but think this is getting ridiculous. Are we out of touch with acceptable behavior? We have a grown married daughter and a 16 year old at home. Do we tell her it's time to move out or just accept this?
38 AnswersFamily1 decade agoMy niece, almost 20, made a huge mistake the other day. She and a friend got drunk. My niece was driving?
and ran her car off the road into a ditch. Her friend got mad or scared and demanded she let her (the friend) drive. As her friend was backing up, the police pulled up. Her friend got a DUI (she's 21). My niece insists she kept telling the police that she was the one that drove the car into the ditch but they didn't believe her. They didn't do anything to her- not even cite her for underage drinking. Now her friend is livid because she has a DUI and my niece got off with nothing. My niece is really upset that her friend is getting in trouble for what she really did. She spoke to a friend whose lawyer told her there was nothing she could do and to be grateful she didn't get cited for underage drinking and DUI and reckless operation. Her friend wants her to do something to get them to take the DUI off. Is there anything she can do? Is there anything her friend can do to get the charge changed to my niece?

9 AnswersTeaching1 decade agoDating a friends ex?
My 20 year old daughter was at work today when a friend from high school came in. He indicated he would like to see her. She would like to see him also but thinks she needs her best friends permission. I say that was high school and they only dated a few times so her friend has no say. What do you think?
7 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoDoes anyone have a really good way to convince cats they aren't welcome in your yard?
We have a small pond in our backyard. There are fish and at least one frog living there. There are also about half a dozen cats who regularly check out the pond, trying to figure out how to get the fish. I thought of "shooting" them with paint or colored water so their owners would realize they were treading in unwanted areas, but my husband thinks it might be illegal. I don't want to hurt the cats, but I want the fish to live. Cat lovers, don't bother. I have a cat, too, so I don't hate them, but I keep mine inside.
7 AnswersCats1 decade agoMy husband and I are debating whether to allow our "foster" daughter's boyfriend to continue coming to dinner.
We have a 19 year old former foster daughter who has chosen to return to our home to live after a turmultuous couple of years away from us. She has a former live-in boyfriend that she is still involved with. He isn't the kind of person we would chose for her although until recently we thought he was a fairly nice guy, although without a doubt a "loser". She agrees he's not a great prize but feels like she "owes" him for his past support and doesn't want to "give up " on him. Now we find out he often gets drunk and becomes mean. If we tell her we don't want to support their relationship by welcoming him into our home, she may feel we are making unfair judgements. If we continue to allow him to come to dinner and visit, we feel like we are supporting their relationship. How do we handle this?
