My Asus motherboard came with a SoundMAX sound card and I accidentally uninstalled the software but the hardware is still in the motherboard. I can't reinstall it because the CD got lost so, I thought of just upgrading and getting a new soundcard. My questions are;

1. Is the old sound card that came with the motherboard removable or not?

2. Can I get a new sound card to replace the old SoundMAX sound card that was integrated with the motherboard? If so, would it take the place of the old sound card in the motherboard or will it have to be placed some place else?
